In my eyes he's an antihero with some weird Darwinian "the strong will survive" mentality. He wants to do good but he thinks violence is the answer

No I'd say That Deimos is the latest victim of R6's inconsistent writing rather than "the good guy"
It’s not really “inconsistent” because deimos isn’t a “good guy” he just wants to reform rainbow as a whole. Ash proves that rainbow has changed for the better and has done better, proof being that they no longer need a “6” (Harry) to keep them running. And harry made it that way, so that when he leaves (he dead) they can still operate and carry out missions. Deimos problem with rainbow initially was the politics of it, and how the operators don’t have an option on who to save and when. Deimos believes that rainbow is weak since they require approval from their superior’s, superior. Then he compares ash to himself. He was a “stick to book” kind of guy, just like ash. He had to do things the right way or no way. However as years went on he grew resentful for having to responsible for the deaths of millions when he wasn’t able to execute his duties out. Honestly just read the comic, it’ll explain it better.
Inconsistent is truly a compliment
Youre trippin. I see this as a person tryna get inside rainbow to destroy it. There literally no inconsistency. You dont know the full plan of Deimos so wait til something actually happens. He is a captive, not a rainbow operator. What he has shown is he doesnt care about anyone but himself. You clearly saw the video title and commented without watching the video. Educate yourself

He's an anti-hero. He'd do anything to get the mission done, but not harm the innocent (excluding politician) I guess he saw Rainbow become... A larger batch of "War Criminals" (which is basically true) and is there to either resurrect the Old Rainbow or recreate Rainbow in his own image.
It's funny.... How Ubisoft made the series' backstory better by adding a returning operator killing the newly created character.
When he called out Ash about her hidden backstory being in Rainbow, I wonder what that meant. Was Ash an og operator as well or he just knows?
Big Bad should be Horizon Group again. Using them as part of an eco-terrorism plot was pretty cool in the book. The human-testing bio research compound was a cool map in the old game.

I think Deimos is learning, he's throwing his own legion under the bus in order to get an in to watch Rainbow at play first hand, what their weaknesses are, what makes them tick for an eventual ram raid which will see Deimos free again and the Keres Legion becoming a much bigger threat than Rainbow could comfortably handle.
I can see him bringing them into another trap/ambush with Nighthaven finally stepping back in and rescuing the r6 ops that are on that mission.. I really miss Nighthaven being involved (aside from BPs)
i remember first watching the year 8 cinematic and thinking that deimos was vigil because i had been playing for like 3 weeks at that point
He definitely work for himself, rainbow keeping him as an asset as he got a lot of useful intel and he used it as a bargaining chip. Now its a only a matter of time for us to know what is his endgame
My theory is that deimos is doing an "eye for an eye makes the whole world blind" play where he plans to take down both rainbow and keres legion by pinning them with each other bc he probably still believe that rainbow is still the same and that keres legion is no different I feel like he is smarter than he looks bc he's not just confident but that confidence comes with support of being with rainbow for years and as stated before he was a "stick to the books guy" meaning the right way or no way. I feel like he wouldn't blatantly betray rainbow but would let them die with the keres legion when the opportunity arise.

They pretty much did a Doomsday, Sombra, and Mauga thing where you play as both Hero and Villain characters
People say jinxzi got them into r6 again but deimos was what did it for me suck a cool op and he unlocked my love for grim

I really want deimos to be a clean-cut villain who wants to see Rainbow burn. I think he has the potential to just make a badass escape in the next season and a whole war starts. I wish we get more stories that have a simple-minded villain.

I don't think so. Deimos is pulling the same trick that The Joker did in The Dark Knight: Get captured so you can get inside your enemy's base and tear them apart from within. The work he's been doing with Rainbow is to lull them into a false sense of security and maneuver them into a position where he can strike for maximum damage. I certainly hope the game's writers see it that way, because otherwise it would just feel weird seeing the guy who murdered Harry suddenly become a genuine member of the heroic team.
I've always believed Deimos was a representation of the player base's attitude towards siege and ubisoft so from that perspective hes always been the good guy
I hope Deimos could be what Nighthaven should've been, while they managed to convince some of the rainbow ops to defect and join them, they still hold a neutral relationship with rainbow (for now).
Deimos could play the long game and dissolve Rainbow from the inside, idk how but lore wise he most definitely can.

@@xyiux Yeah I don't think Azami would be apart of the Keres Legion, since she literally joined Rainbow because she was pissed off at "Nighthaven". She, along with everybody else didn't even know who Deimos was at the time.

I would love to see Deimos get a redemption arc of sorts. Not forgiveness exactly, more just seeing Rainbow as a modern force that performs well beyond what he thought of them, and slowly (and grudgingly) coming around to be on Rainbow's side. Maybe we see more Keres operators who see him as a betrayer, maybe they join him in Rainbow- I dunno. Of course, it is more likely, and more expected, for him to stay as a bad guy. Either way, I look forward to seeing more lore, and more Keres operators.
Things that stood out for Deimos for me, this is the guy who spits on what Rainbow is now. Deimos mocks Harry, saying Six turned Rainbow into a clown show, instead of a team of apex killers. Then he executes Harry, knowing this will spur Rainbow to come after him. Then he gives up a plane full of weapons and money, letting his minions die.
When it came to Emerald Plains, Deimos knows Rainbow is mobilized to counter him. Still he attacks Emerald Plains with just five additional guys? I'm thinking that Deimos attacks with such a small team, knowing they would easily be taken out, following it up with Deimos allowing himself to be captured, knowing that Rainbow won't kill him. Even though he encourages them to do so. Which highlights his sentiments, Rainbow now has restraint when it comes to killing only when needed.
I'm figuring that, Deimos lets himself be captured and that his legion of followers are tracking him, using the same drone technology his character uses in game. Deimos lures Rainbow, either the bulk of their operators or the most valuable ones, into a massive ambush. That way he can 'purge' Rainbow, removing what he feels has stained the reputation of his legacy and that of his comrades.
It wouldn't make sense for Deimos to suddenly be friendly and join Rainbow, because the other operators want him dead for killing Harry. Even if Deimos suddenly turns good, that won't wipe away what he did.

What if Deimos set all this up so rainbow can either kill him or protect him from something far worse.
We know Zero, Sam Fischer (the legend of echelon) is working with Rainbow because he's hunting a threat.
And considering between now and next year, Zero goes to Auroa in ghost recon breakpoint, for that op. Meaning the political power struggles/threats that are in breakpoint could be tied with what's going on in siege.
It's a stretch I know. But with how ubi have always tied Tom Clancy franchises together, and now with Xdefiant throwing their whole metaverse together. It's starting to look like there is a hidden threat pulling strings

Some old characters like Domenic Chavez, Bishop, logan, kan, gabe needed a big return to proof the innocence of Demios.
May be harry isn't dead and there is a mole in team rainbow and isn't got revealed yet.
Demios as old operative came to investigate, harry fake death is a part of plan, attack on tower wasn't done by demios.
There are many possibilities and siege multiplayer is dying because of cheaters
So ubisoft can release story campaign events with every new season.

Ok no offense against the community who likes the lore but I'm not gonna sugar coat it, sieges lore has been mush ever since it was released. Sweet babies took over and now everybody is all nice and family friendly nobody actually dies that's important. I think making one or more of the current operators an undercover baddie would be awesome, I wouldn't hate the character at all I'd like them more, why? BECAUSE THEY HAVE MORE DEPTH. The devs are too afraid of offending people and more concerned with catering to everybody rather then the core audience.

Someone who could tie to him and OG lore is Ding Chavez, Chavez was Clark’s son in law and the six that took over after Clark. We don’t know when Chavez’s reign as six ended as we don’t know how much of R6 Patriots was cannon if cannon at all. But it would be nice to see a refrence to him too.

Fun fact: They changed Deimos’ voice actor from the CGI to the game. I like both but i do feel like the CGI actor was more menacing.
I think it’s because of the stigma of using AI voice rather than actual voice actors. I mean look at all the hate games like The Finals and The First Descendent got for it.
@@JakeTheEagle It wasn’t an AI voice, I meant the voice actor used for the CGI was replaced with a different actor for the gameplay. Christopher Rosamond played him in the CGI where he kills Harry, then Dalias Blake replaced him for further voices and ingame.

Ubisoft can’t help but have poor writing. What elite force would let their enemy, a known terrorist work on the field with them? Rainbows supposed to be the most elite counter terrorist unit around and they just let their terrorist captives work with them? Ubisoft hire a better writing team, this is garbage logic.

deimos is the realest character in r6 lore despite hypocrisy, he's probably playing off the real life concept that the people at the top of any nation are the only ones who profit off of war and terrorism, so both war and terrorism are perpetual. We still don't know what he has planned to do about this kind of thing tho it's like u said we're just gonna have 2 see as the story goes on but I think it would be interesting if he touched on the controversial politics of such a nuanced concept. I very much see his point (mostly because of what I have learned of the government and the 3 letter agencies that protect sketchy people who are important yet not famous)
Nobody profits off of War and Terrorism.
It just so happens that the world is kinda freaking dangerous, and you need weapons to protect yourself, so alot of money goes into that.
Tom Clancy understood that. Current R6 writers are weirdo liberal fruitcakes who want to simultaneously profit from a game franchise about counter-terrorism while also being anti-war.

I hope he's not a good guy anymore, I love plots where the villains works with the heroes for some reason. And the reason why he's working with rainbow it's one of my favorites. He's being held captive, but have crucial info about his team that he values less than his life. Although he has his guns we must remember that rainbow will easily kidnap him back. Specially having so many eyes on him.

That first clip made me wince because I was thinking about someone popping open gym window and blasting you, which there’s no defense against. Which made me think it would be nice if there was a mechanic to flip around to have your back to the wall while on rappel.
