I just recently opened up my 1tb 25H3 drive as the warranty ran out, and it has a Seagate drive in it. I've had it for 4 years now and never had a problem with it. The Seagate drive has been quiet and fast, and Transcend did a great job of putting together a solid case for it!
Hello, I found this thread on reddit about Transcend StoreJet 25M3. He says the metal plating inside the 25M3 starts to corrode after 4 years and it might cause the HDD to short and die suddenly, is it true?
For all. Newer models (after 2018 or so) doesn't have the so called corrosion issue as they say on Reddit. If you come up with older models, removing the metal plate inside is luckily a rather simple task.

My transcend 25H3 keeps disconnecting due to loose USB connection at the hard disk.Any solution to this?using an enclosure is it a good idea???Please help

When I started searching for HDD online, i found mostly WD and seagate drives. I saw so many negative reviews about them and then i saw transcend drives. I just decided to go with it and then i saw this video. Now i came to know that transcend is basically WD from inside. 😭
Well said. I had huge issues with WD HDDs and I switched to Transcend. Things got better but I just saw that video and was shocked to see WD inside. Time to switch to Samsung SSD or SanDisk.

I had the Transcend 25h 2Tb since 2017... until now still using it. so far everything is fine with it. WD is a great option and can't even compare it to the trash seagate..
dude ur transcend 25h3/25m3 might also have seagate in it lol. my 25m3 has st1000lm024 (seagate) in it when i check it with crystaldiskinfo

1. that the HDD, that is inside the Transcend StoreJet case, be installed directly in a laptop or desktop computer (in the 2.5-inch connector) or be installed into another case?
2. to put another HDD (os SSD) inside the Transcend StoreJet case?
Yes, inside the storejet is a standard 2.5" hard drive that you can use and replace with another 2.5" hdd or ssd

My 25H3's USB port are not work anymore, thanks for your vide, I can put the HDD out and still use it by connect to SATA just like a normal internal HDD.

sir, can i use this on a smartphone without an ext. power source using usb Y-cord?
I'm not 100% sure but I think it's not possible. USB 3.0 devices require quite a bit of power
my transcend 25h3 does not light up when I connect it to my computer, tv and etc... before it does, but almost after a month or two it doesn't work :< pls tell me what is wrong with mine

You didn't compare the speeds of both of the hard drives. I do notice that both of them contain the same HDD inside so I am guessing that it is roughly same but still, I would like to know from you

bought 25H3 5 years ago and when I opened it, it contains samsung HDD good thing they are using WD.
+JUSTIFY Someone told me his storejet had a seagate drive inside. I guess they are using other brands of hard drives as well. I'm lucky to have WD but I voided my warranty anyways. Haha
I voided mine because the port is not working anymore so I just use the HDD in my PC right now I'm thinking of buying an enclosure so I can use it as an OTG for my phone so I don't need to bring a laptop on my travels.

You can't use any hdd for PS4 because of the formats and speed. From what I know, storange that support for PS4 is from WD Black for gaming.

I bought this and until now it still can be use after 4 years. I bought wd passport and it only last for 3 weeks before it asks for endless formating because windows can not format it. Wd passport is the most stupid external storage i'd ever had

To be honest, the difference between these brands will probably insignificant. I mean they're both pretty well-known companies with decent aftermarket support. But if I need to pick one, I'll go with western digital as I've used more hard disk from them than seagate.
Based on personal experience... My first external HDD was a SeaGate which didn't even reached 6 months when it died out. I switched to Toshiba which is still working now. Also bought WD and Transcend H3 which are being used almost everyday (TV Series - copy, playing videos, etc.) and all are still working fine after more than a year now.
I gave Seagate a second chance after about 2 years from my first one but had the same experience.
In short... SeaGate is dead to me :)
So that means Transcend is using Western Digital hard drive. I thought they have their own.
I just bought Transcend StoreJet 25M3 2TB and cost me about $70 dollars
What is the best hard drive Transcend or Wd my passport?
For me I'll always go for Transcend Shockproof External Hard Drives. It is safer and utilizes the same 2.5" hard drive inside from Western Digial and Seagate.

As a hard disk manufacturer, how could she sell hard disks to competitors to produce anti-shock external hard disks, causing the sales of their own hard disks to fall?
because transcend isn't really the manufacturer the drives, they're just reselling WD/seagate drives (my storeject 25m3 has seagate inside, unlike the video) with rubberized enclosure/case. transcend still need to buy the internals from the actual manufacturers (WD/seagate) and if transcend has good sales then they will also have good sales

I got 1TB 25H3 but it is just 913 GB I doubt if this is legit.
That is legit, you will never really get the full storage capacity on any hard disk
It’s legit, 1TB is provided natively but some of their own files take up some space. It’s the same thing for phones too, A 64gb phone typically has 57gb of storage

I have 25h3 for less than two years and it died few days ago. Completely... So, I'm not happy with that, will never buy Transcend again. Whether is Seagate or WD inside, it is not obviously Seagate I have in my computers or other external discs.
