Republicans Overseas did get the 2017 hearing on FATCA. But also 2017 was the TCJA which imposed the transition tax - a tax on income you've never received and may never receive. Republicans and Democrats really have a competition on who can be more abusive to Americans.
While this is a positive step forward doubt it will pass because too many in government are ignorant (or just don't care) of accidental americans & emigrants plight. Ending citizenship based taxation is the real and only solution.
Yup, this is the solution for most problems in most cases - do - not - file. The US government won't know if you are dead or alive and doesn't care. 99 percent of the damage done by US tax code and associated laws are done because the victims send in forms.
I appreciate Rep. Beyer, but it seems like there are mountains in front of him. Ok so we should register to vote and then vote. But which party do we vote for? This is bipartisan, but then nothing gets done. I don’t know. Perhaps the only way to cause an effect is to renounce. Perhaps if enough of us renounce, it will get their attention.
Hint : Stop filing.
95 percent of your problems go away.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
Is there a Republicans abroad taxation task force?

I think it will pass - it cures the FBAR statute and provides no real relief.
Typical bait-n-switch.
If you live abroad just stop filing!
