I'm thinking that Onwenu's problem at tackle this season is because of the weight he put on for the season. He put on the weight going into the season expecting to play guard not tackle.
I completely agree with Alex about the idea that you CANNOT play Maye right now. The problem is what will happen in that locker room the more losses pile up and other players are asking, "What are we doing?". Fans are going to be irrational regardless, but hat's the real challenge.
This OL seems to be going backwards vs forwards. It the OL could get to a functional state, put Drake in. The OL seems to be getting worse with more guys getting hurt. If this continues to head in a worse to even worse direction, don't play Drake, even go get another vet to come in and play crash test dummy!
I keeps hearing it's the offensive line. But I'm starting to really think it isn't that. Or he would have never put him in for that last 4 minutes. It looks like it's going to take years to fix this offensive line.

This game showed how bad they really are.1. The pass rush couldn't contain Rodgers not once but over and over. 2. The missed tackles , it was like they never tackled before. 3. The OL was worse than bad , no talent no hope. 4. Penalties 5. They don't have an OL. 6. The OL sucks. &. Andrews and Stevenson both made drive killing penalties.
Patriots lost 31 to 0 to Buffalo in the season opener of 2003 so I don't know why I keep hearing people say it was the worst lose since 1986.. by the way the Pat's beat Buffalo in the last game of that same season by the same score and went on to win the superbowl.. don't hold your breath on that same outcome happening again this season.. lol

We had 105 rushing yards. 239 total yards, 16 first downs(bills only had 23 they scored all their points on the ints) our time of possession was 26:10 min to 33:50. 4/10 on 3rd down. 58 plays to 63 plays. 4.1 yards per play. 3.6 yards per pass. Sacks 2. Yards lost 20. 5.0 yards per rush. Last night - 61 passing yards. 78 rushing yards. 139 total yards. 0 tds. 11 first downs. 2/11 3rd down. 2.9 yards per play. 1.8 yards per pass. 7 sacks for 59 yards lost. Time of possession 19:56-40:04 48 plays to 70 plays. Yea. Last night was the Worst. Game. Ever.
Would this O line be that bad? Lowe, Strange, Andrews, Onwenu, Wallace??? You could also sub strange/sow/robinson, and if Chuks ever plays again he could play RT.. I have a hard time understanding that this lineup could be that bad.. Onwenu needs to play guard
First 2 picks in the draft NEED to be tackles. NEEDS to be. No way around that. Trade the pick for a haul of picks and get a couple tackles right off the rip.
100% agree...and sign a free agent lineman too..if this season has proven anything it's that you can't do anything without an excellent o line and 80% of the league are suffering poor play...there is simply not enough talent...you can not over invest in blue chip talent on the line...watch the chargers dominate with their amazing line
I am tired of Uche just using speed and dip to try and get around the edge. He might be alright if he actually used pass rush moves but I think the Uche experience needs to be over.
This bad OL play started the first time Dante retired. Someone from the front office needs to put 10 million in a suitcase and beg Dante to come back. He seems to be retired, he is in his 70's, but what if he came back as a consultant? Just twenty hours a week during the season. Help the coaches and help with the draft. Let him help determine guys in the draft and FA's that are smart tough and athletic enough.
Sorry but even with all their guys healthy the pressure rate is still way too high to put a rookie QB in there and Brissett isn't even holding onto the ball for too long like a Fields or Caleb Williams...they need to cut a couple of their OLine guys and sign a couple of those experienced injury prone free agents
Tell me what free agent QB is going to look at this same offensive line - that everyone recognizes as the worst in the league - and will willingly say "sign me up"
What a mess Drake looked bad at times but seemed to move the ball better. Was hard to watch his head slam on the ground. Maybe Bazooka Joe is a good change of pace.
Donovan smith is literally better than any of our tackles , but Wallace at right tackle bring in Donovan smith at left tackle stop playing games Eliot wolf

Start Drake Maye, lets use this season to see if he can show us flashes and can be the light at the end of this pitch black tunnel. Or else whats this season for? Drake watches film of Jacoby not throwing the ball and taking sacks? No thanks. Drake can get game experience without expectations to win.
Why do you feel like Maye is ready to perform in a positive direction with the knowledge of his progress thus far on this roster? You continue to use the o line as the reason to not play him yet still have criticism of his progress/development while asking for his play. If the team is what we want to see make positive improvements then individuals cannot be our focus. Stop the fantasy of what might be accept the reality that is. Go PAT'S

Agree on the O line, Wallace should move to RT, Onwenu back to RG, Lowe at LT when he is ready. They must fix this O line before starting Drake Maye.
