I am so glad someone still has this posted on You Tube. It had been removed for a while. This is a great video and well made. Great Thanks to the Raul Scotland survey team for teaching this.
Yes it is, and the original maker of the video pulled it down from his own You Tube channel. I am just glad that someone manage to retain a copy of it. I believe he also removed the other three later. The maker of the video thought someone was stealing his work but that was wrong the channel hosting this is truly show casing it as a great example of good surveying methods and he never takes credit for it himself.
Using Plumbing fork and plumb bob Plumbing fork is a U-shaped metal frame with a upper horizontal arm and a lower inclined arm. The upper arm is provided with a pointer at the end while the lower arm is provided with a hook to suspend plumb bob. When the plumbing fork is kept on the plane table the vertical line (line of plumb bob) passes through the pointed edge of upper arm. The plumb bob helps in transferring the ground point to the drawing sheet and vice versa also.
A grid reference is a location on a map, which is found using the northing and easting numbered lines. Grid references are useful for helping a map user to find specific locations. or A grid reference indicates a location on a map in terms of numbered vertical and horizontal grid lines. Grid references are useful for sharing routes, and quickly communicating to emergency services. Every ordnance survey map in the world has a six figure grid references and a four figure grid references for every place. Four-figure grid references are used to find a grid square but we can use six-figure grid references to find an exact location within a grid square. While GPS coordinates are a unique identifier of a precise geographic location on the earth, usually expressed in alphanumeric characters. Coordinates, in this context, are points of intersection in a grid system. GPS coordinates are usually expressed as the combination of latitude and longitude. The difference between grid references and GPS coordinates is that coordinates are where the lines meet and grid references are in between the lines.

This is the clearest explanation of plane tabling I've yet to come across!
I love using the plane table it is easy with care and very accurate.

Thank you for this video. It is enjoyable and informative.
huge information about survey

8:02 what does it mean by closest to the pin?
You need to draw the line as close as possible to the pin otherwise it will give a error in final drawing.
Where do you get the instruments?
you can get the instruments from any manufacturer who manufacture survey equipment.
I just bought a tripod and made the top for it. The Alidade was not very hard to make. These work great.

Yes... It is called as Plumbing Fork or U - Fork
