What information/analysis/comparison would you like to see me do next? Must have Model Y accessories next and then some cost of ownership videos on its way 🔥
You can compare the Model 3 Highland against your Model Y if you want people to feel comfortable buying the current Model Y. The comparison should be around the common things like noise, suspension etc. Not around practicality, for instance.
Understood, I’ll have to get a test drive booked. But I think it will be interesting to see a cabin noise comparison as well as the suspension differences between the two
It is quiet..until you hear the rear tyres crusing at 60kms..noisy...My Subaru factory tyres were noisy but when i bought new ones to suit. My Suburu was quiet. Hopefully this will be the same issue..Other than that It drove so well, felt amazing(test drive)..it fills your void until you look for something else to make yourself feel meaninful haha..However im still buying Tesla Y over the Xpeng G6. The Tesla has such a good Rep..like Subaru and Toyota. What sucks is the transition from ICE to EV at some point youll feel you shouldve waited (as the prices drop). i feel like im in the middle of it all of it. Not to mention Australia is so far behind.
Another great video sir. If it is of interest, I recently "exchanged" my Gemini wheels for satin black painted versions for £100 a corner. IMHO they look so much better naked with a lovely caliper cover installed. First Aid Wheels were exceptionally helpful.
Oh interesting, where did you get the black variants from? Have Tesla UK started selling them now? Not sure how it will go against the black Model Y. Silver ones have really grown on me, but I’ll be tracking down some third party ones for wheel rash protection at some point !
@@AdamWellinformed First Aid sourced the Gemini wheels and painted them (small deposit paid on my part) and once all ready i drove and had them fitted. They did a fantastic job of changing the tyres over, rebalancing and torqueing the wheel nuts correctly. I left my silver wheels behind and drove off with the new black (satin rather than gloss) ready to go as I say for £100 a wheel. Tessories was my go to for the Tesla badge blackout as the items they ahave fix over the existing but make it fully black. For you you could go full stealth which I think people find appealing. Tessorries was also my go to for the boot spoiler. easy to install and unlike the genuine carbon version, actually stays on!
On my second model Y and couldn't ask for a better car have owned other higher end SUV's and i find the model Y blows them out the water, Loads of space me and daughter even camped in the back for bit of fun. can potter around doing dad duties but when alone can drive it like a sports car as its absolutely rapid. Zero maintenance in my first model Y i washed it and put windscreen washer in it in over 2 years of ownership thats about it. When had a combustion car was spending around £300 a month on fuel now i struggle to spend £30 a month charging. 2 things i cant stand is one the wipers for a car that's tech focused the fact the auto wipers are the worst they have a mind of their own often going off when its not raining but when its raining not going off at all. Second are the seats in your video you say they are comfy which it totally agree with the headrests let them down as you cant move them and i find on a longer journey i really notice it, but that maybe a personal thing. Great Video
Nice, todays Model Ys have been refined and improved in all sorts of areas. i mean they are understandable complaints to have in a world of good. I use the traditional manual options to operate the wipers to get round the auto frustrations. The headrest, i finally got round to installing my neck cushions from my model 3 last week as I was missing that support from last time round. Purely because I didn’t realise how much I relied on them cushions before. It could help you but word of warning as I became accustomed to the neck pillow position.
Hey Adam. Does the 24 UK rwd come with the premium audio? My wife’s 23 plate has it, and I’m looking to upgrade from my 3 rwd in a few months. Congrats on the new car. Love the black! Thanks for
Yes, Berlin Model Ys still comes with premium audio 👍 Think the China Model Y have always been that way. It’s just the North American Model Ys where they gave it the chop.
Sadly the referral program came to an end a good few months ago. Tesla promised a revised referral program but nothing has been announced since. Though your support is well and truly appreciated as every comment helps 👍 I just hope the content is informative and continues to be useful. Accessory breakdown next week, which should be good fun.
@issiewizzie You’ll love it. There’s another Tesla change with all Tesla vehicles this quarter which I’ve not seen anyone cover. Therefore, I’ll probably do it in a YT short in the next day or two, but it’s a cheeky little win for the consumer. Will go down well 🔥
Does the parcel shelf come as standard now ? Mat watson video says tesle doesn’t supply one. How much is car insurance? i got cheapest quote for £1200. Negatives video coming up ?
Yeah, mine came as standard. As we’re part way through the policy it cost us another 30£ish to update the policy for 6months. But annually it’s like £650ish with multiple non-fault claims. Negative wise, there isn’t anything substantial to really discuss. Yeah there’s a few nit pick bits here and there. But to be honest with you, to have a catchy tesla negative title and trying to waffle it out for a dedicated 10 minute video would simply be exploitation of my viewers time - which isn’t great! I’ll definitely cover some areas of improvements in a 1 month- 6 week review video. Will be more of a natural fit to a video. Plus, its sufficient time to pick up on different scenarios and usage cases. Even present some solutions if I can 👍
Where are RHD Teslas built ? Only China, or Germany too ? If so, get a MY SR MiG with the BYD battery, this battery is far better then the CATl LFP and also rivals the LG LR battery. Cheaper, faster charge, long distance is the same as with a Y LR. Model 3H ? Nope, old battery tech, LG and CATL are really outdated
For the UK, they come from China and Germany at the moment. I tried pursuing a BYD rwd Model Y, however from my searching efforts they’re not sending them to the UK just yet. Which is a shame. However, i rarely supercharge and the CATL battery actually fairs better on degradation than the BYD battery. Wasn’t a game changer for me in the end.
Having owned the model 3 for 3 and a half years I can’t relate to this. Unless you’re hogging countryside roads consistently. For which how hard is it to give the rear camera a quick wipe when you use the boot next. Let’s not forget parking sensors aren’t exactly bulletproof in icy conditions themselves. It’s a good job we can always rely on mirrors if something isn’t quite right 🤯
@@AdamWellinformed disagree. Why do I want to me messing about wiping cameras. For which there are few, not just the boot one. Big mistake getting rid of parking sensors for the average customer. If they remove the indicator stalks....we'll that's suicide. Shouldn't be allowed anyway.
@joennick1 So if there’s ice/snow on the parking sensor do you drive with it beeping or wipe it? Do you clean your windows or your mirrors when they’re dirty? What’s the difference? I think you’re overthinking a small thing that I’ve barely even encountered. But if it’s a bigger issue for you, then it’s simply not the car for you. Thankfully the car industry is a competitive market, and that means theres plenty of choice to find something to your liking.
Drove mine through the whole of winter and the 3d visualization is better than any parking sensors and 360 cam i have used, only ever have to clean my boot camera which is same as any other car

It gets noisy going over 60 mph. But I still love it. Best car I ever owned.
what are the controls on the stalk, i am assuming one of them would be indicator?

Great review and great car once you test drive you will be buying one 😊
Took a neighbour for a drive the other day, he picks up next week 😂

Parking sensors? No? Relying on the cameras? Good luck with those when they get mucky in the good old British weather.
