    Your facial expression as you play sums up your feelings about the instrument or, at least, about playing itself. I love your reviews. Thanks.

    Nobody does a review that includes string height measurements. Its a very good indication of how the guitar is assembled.

    I bought this guitar, Jarvis! Thanks for your great demonstrations and evaluations! Out of the case, it immediately sounded like a guitar that has been played for 20-years (the A.R.E. is effective). The guitar is very open, bright yet warm, and very resonant. My black LL16D has a black Tusq nut, and a black Tusq bridge saddle, and black Tusq bridge pins. I’m very happy with, and like that pick-up for playing amplified does not require any batteries!
    You are great, Jarvis!

    Trying to decide between this guitar and the Takamine EF341SC...I think I'm leaning towards this Yamaha. I had a Yamaha Pacifica electric when I was younger and it definitely was an amazing sounding and easy playing guitar. And this guitar sounds a little more traditional sounding to my ear than the Takamine. The Takamine sounds a little more modern and trebly compared to this guitar. I prefer vintage sounds both electric and acoustic. This was a fantastic demo. Thanks for sharing.

      I love taks, i have 3 of them, including ltd2020 but if you want an acoustic guitar, then the LL16 is it.

    I returned the new LLTA sunburst and purchased this LL16D black guitar used instead. I'll probably repurchase the LLTA or ll16 sunburst once I find a good deal on them used. I've been playing some really expensive Gibsons and Martins lately and this is still my favorite sounding guitar. Just about every song, strummed or picked, sounds amazing on this guitar.

      Would you pick the LL16 in sunburst over the black one, I’ve heard the black one is a special guitar,,

    • @MarianoPerez
      @MarianoPerez Рік тому

      @@adamhill1216 They are both good. The black guitar, which I have, is really nice, but all black guitars are fingerprint magnets and get easily scratched. You can't go wrong with any LL16 guitars.

    Jarvis this Yamaha sounds good, as was told to me Yamaha has it's own factory so they can have a better quality control unlike the other companies where they contract the work out in China and don't own their factory and thus have some issues of some kind. I personally don't like painted colors on guitars IMO I feel that these companies can hide some imperfections on the wood not saying that woods are perfect. I do have to admit that the colors on some models look beautiful to look at. Love n Peace.

    Hi Jarvis. I have a cosmetic question. The 5 piece neck is evident when looking at the back of the neck here on the internet but I saw a black one in a store same as yours where the neck was a solid black colour and no signs of it being anything but one piece? Do they come like that Jarvis? Thank you.

      John Clarke cox the spray black paint on the back of the neck to match the black body so you can’t see the multi layer neck

    This is my upgrade choice but one thing concerns me, I use a pick. Many reviews say this guitar is optimized for finger picking. Of course it still works with a pick but. If I want to use a pick is it a good choice? I am only one year in. I started on a Yamaha FG830, you can see this will be a pretty big upgrade for me. Thanks.

    • @samadam4774
      @samadam4774 4 роки тому

      I play the ll16D in natural. And I use it most of the time with a pick. Often compared with chicken picking. It works well but the sound is complete different than a rosewood fretboard. Its more beefy and adds a little more low end to single notes while rosewood fretboards sound more open to me, more wooden if you will. I enjoy both so I ended up ceep my old F380 aswell along with my suzuki 120 miJ from 1978. Hope that helped a little. Regards

      @@samadam4774 Hello Sam. I changed to a FG5,went to order but there was at the time a long delivery date, I found one on Reverb (FG5) I could not come to a deal on Reverb (shipping was 150.00) so I put 500.00 down on one at a store. So, I get this Reverb email saying "OK free shipping" but now the store has my 500.00. I ended up buying a Martin D16E, I love it. I still want a Yamaha with the "AT" technology (enhanced but all internal) I always play/practice outside so I need an amp to better hear myself. OH, I did buy a Fishman Loudbox mini charge for the D16. The Yamaha I speak of will have internals,the FG830 will be a mic'd soundhole.OH I started "hybrid fingerstyle" with the Martin. I keep a pick in my hand (between thumb and pointer finger) but only use it when I want emphasis otherwise I use my fingers. The strings feel soft (in contrast to the cutting feeling on the fretting hand fingers)
