- We see it, we believe it and then we go for it. Sometimes it's the best possible move and sometimes it is not. In the final round of the FIDE Grand Swiss 2023, GM R Praggnanandhaa (2738) was up against GM Bogdan-Daniel Deac (2701). While Praggnanandhaa was about to make his thirteenth move, something happened that could have changed the course of the game. Watch the video to see what happened.

He moved the Piece He touched and He didn't take His Hand off the Knight with His initial move to H-4. So He was Straight and Played Fairly against His Opponent. Freeman.
Deac looks like he has a plane to catch
anxious and nervous
3:35, he moved, got it back before releasing the piece, moved the same piece again later. No issue. I think..
This was legit from Prag. I don't understand. He did not left the knight and played it after he touched it...nothing wrong with that IMHO.
just usual clickbait
Nothing wrong with the title either.
Wow what a game by Prag the idea of taking on f5 changes the game!! Deac is an impressive player as well, so anxious
@ 3:48
I just wanna know if there are any pre-arranged draws or wins, like if there is some agreement behind the scenes no one gets caught right?
if that is the intention there is no need to pre-arrange. It's quite a simple thing to play in a way to signal your intention to draw, and if it benefits both players the opponent just has to go cooperate.
@dessertstorm7476 that's only if you're white you kinda can force a draw but as black no,also I was curious about pre arranged wins or losses like is that a thing or any scandal till now
Just play berlin
@@varunvasan5797 I never said force a draw I said play towards a draw so i becomes obvious
you can just say it infront, a draw by agreement is a draw by agreement
Nh4?? Qh3 would have been quite a knockout 🤣
why is GM Bogdan in so hurry?
I don't like the manners of Deac, he is always arriving to the board in a rush, making noise and can perturb the calm of his opponent. I mean, one time doesn't harm but he does it every single move, i saw it yesterday with Vidit too. And what is most incredible, is that he does so even when he is low on time XD i mean, wtf?? you has to be on the board if you wanna win. I enjoyed very much Pragg winning this game XD
Totally agree. He looks so stressed!
Bro he might be having some health issues. Don't spread hate. It's maybe some disorder definetly. He does things and moves quickly and his face being down (lil weird) is making me think that he has some health issue
3:45 🧐
The opponent of Pragg could be suffering from stomach pain
Why he is in such a hurry everytime?
Why does Bogdan keep standing up after every move? 😮 Is it something like psych war? 😂
Brain says: N to h4
Fingers says: I ain't letting go till you bring the knight back where it came from.
At last he removed Kd5
If someone says it's cheating just say "Talk to my hand"
This not cheating because Pragg did not let go of his knight
No, but if you touched a piece, you must make a move with it. He did the move, but if he'd done a move with another piece, he'd be cheating.
By the way, if you touched an opponent's piece, you must take it if a legal move exists to take it.

@@abhirajratna7812 Thanks!
En passant: if your opponent pawn passes from a square which your own pawn can capture, it can be captured if you want. (You don't have to take)
@@abhirajratna7812 holy hell
En passant and queenside castling rules are the least understood in chess. No doubt all masters know about en passant, but some such as Kotov and Averbakh didn't understand that whilst the king can not castle through check, the same rule does not apply to rooks.
EN PASANT, IF YOU CAN DO IT YOU HAVE TO DO IT THATS IT NOT QUESTIONS ASKED EN PASANT ROCKS
Chess already make Bogdan crazy lol
He did NOT take back the move! He never completed the initial move (by releasing the piece) and instead simply changed his mind and moved the same piece back to its initial position until he made up his mind where to move it to, and then moved it to that square. That is perfectly legal, and your title is misleading, and frankly a bit offensive towards Praggnanandhaa, who would never do such a thing as take as take back a move. He is a gentleman.
Male Karen much? The title isn't offensive at all and isn't clickbait. He did realize it would have been a blunder, and he did take back the move. Title doesn't say anything about him cheating, or doing something wrong, you just like to assume so this way you have something to argue about.
3:56 to 4:10 lol, Prag was glancing around pretending he was thinking. The only problem is that is not how LEMs work. you don't look right, left, forward and you don't squint and change directions so quickly and frequently, nor does the focus of your eyes change for the same direction. Honestly, just look at him before the move and that's how normal should be. Glancing around like that was clearly him considering about moving another piece, but ofc any smart GM would only dare consider it but never dare to do it, at least not in this setting. But his reflex did kick in and he was certainly considering it for a moment there. Those are absolutely not LEMs as much as he tried to disguise it as that. The dead giveaway he is glances at a direction for a split second, then immediately changes focus into LEMs and squinting. That simply was a dead giveaway that he was trying to disguise them.
What are you talking about? 😂
@@nza1804 im just saying it crossed his mind if he could get away with moving another piece based on the way he disguised his glances after removing his hand from the piece.
@@tor13128 He just looked around to see if there would be any arbiters around. If so, he would have notified them. Simple as that.
Cry more bro...

Why didn’t pragg make nf2 move at 10:57 it would have been checkmate? Is it because it would be stalemate because of king? I am new to chess so can anyone help

Is that he have to move to NH3 because he place the pieace there?
There was similar situation in the same tournament: White was about to take a black piece and lifted the opponent's piece up in order to move his own piece there. He realized it was a terrible blunder and put it down again. But since he has already touched the piece he was obliged to take it. Unlike here because it was the opponent's piece there was nothing he could do and basically lost the game immediately.
Can someone tell me time limit for these games
There are different time format tournaments in chess but that one was 100 mins + 30 secs increment (30 secs increase for the player after they make their move)
Why he resigned so early
So many chess noobs here who don't even know when a move is completed.
Praggs opponent walked into a helpmate! Is he in a hurry to catch a plane? He should use specs too
the way how Pragg opponent move his pieces and leave the board after every move that he made show how is so arrogant , disrespectful and childish.

He touched Knight and moved Knight. Thats all.
Touch and move hua arrey knight back kaise vapas ley sakte hai pragg ye toh rules hai
I am wondering why these guys move between games too much
Idk. You would think that they'd use their opponent's time to think but they don't seem to see fit to do so
geer: True, what a wierdo, he just made his moves and left the chair, quite disturbing for his opponent, to say the least.
Please play some tournament games with youth , kids, they do it voluntarily to disturb you.. In an aghast if you make an inaccuracy ( like , let me do you something for your moving ),, they will sit hard on that inept move and, you have to remain stand still at the end of the game.. this is happenning, none can deny
So ... then ... did the players agree to a draw in this game? Am I alone in not understanding the result?
bogdan deac resigned Pragg won, at the end, both kings were put on white squares in center indicating white has won, if black had won both kings would have been on black squares, and if it was a draw white king would be on white and black king would be on a black square
@@atulmishra4896 thanks so much for your reply. I am sure I wasn’t alone in learning something from you. Cheers!
Is prag win or not
I thought at this level, simply moving a piece to a legal square is enough to make the move. I didn't know the letting go rule applied here.
What if you're sliding a piece along the board then? With a rook bishop and queen you'd be going over a bunch of legal squares to move. wouldn't make sense that the the first legal square you move it over is your move
Plain nonsense. Why should we have different rules for different levels of players?? Of course its the same roule for all. Nothing easier than that.
It's funny. In other realms of my life, I have often heard "There is no such thing as a stupid question." Apparently there is in chess however, especially among chess snobs! I should have "checked" the "roule" book first. Sorry.

Is it legal? Can you take back the piece you just moved??
Pragg just touched the piece , he didn't left his hand and moved back the piece which can be done unless u have left the fingers then we can say it a legal move & can't take it back

Bro pls Do commentary On chess video without your voice I Feel like cricket without Commentary 😢❤
Hey I'm the first one to comment
That is a loud thought, not a move. A move is consummated when the player hits the clock.
No it's not it's when you let go of the piece. Touch move not clock move.
@@Ramin2340 That may be on the computer, but board chess? One has to make a move and stop one's clock to signal the opponent. One can make one touch or several touches. But this is as far as thinking / common sense goes. I am not aware of the rules. Neither the opponent nor the arbiter objected to this.
@@gtanj Fide rules (article 4 of the fide laws of chess) states rules follow touch move. Hitting the clock does not signal the move but is a requirement to keep time.

isnt it annoying that bogdan is losing yet he's running away from the board and not even trying to find a way around the initial blunder? Like bro what do you have better to do than try to win at that moment?
Most of the GM doesn't required board to calculate their moves. They can play 30-40 moves in their mind. They are insanely Good at it
