I have a lot of things to say about Pink Friday 2… If you know TOPS, you know that I have practically never been so rude with an album and I pretty much get the good side of everything in music, but this album is something else. First, I like Nicki a lot and I was one of the advocates of the (underrated) Queen album back in 2017 when the world was surrendered at the feet of Cardi B with her Invasion of Privacy. But this era/album has been a total disaster in my eyes.... The first part is full of regular and repetitive rap songs. The middle of the album is the best, there are some interesting productions, the singles and songs that could work in charts. The final part is again, full of forgettable and mid songs. Expectations through the roof saying this is "the best album of all time" when it's clearly far from that, and even if you ask me it's her worst album yet. The non-inclusion of Do We Have A Problem and Buzzin’ on the album when both are better than half the songs on there. What happened to the music videos? They were released months after the singles were released, they seem rushed and without any ambition, especially the one for Red Ruby Da Sleeze. 22 songs and less than 10 are really memorable or interesting. I'm not understanding at all the promotional strategy in terms of singles release. 10 songs on the physical release and 22 on the digital release? The use of samples is disappointing and basic, I don't even enjoy Girls Just Want To Have Fun on Pink Friday Girls, being a Cyndi Lauper fan? It's her fifth album and she still doesn't seem to know how to properly finish an album without so much filler. That Kanye West's thing to keep editing and adding things to the albums after they are released? It's not a nostalgic sequel at all, very little reminiscent of Pink Friday. I could say more things but I don't want to make this one longer. I'm sorry Nicki, I really like your music and I waited for this album with good expectations but it has been a big disappointment for me and I see that my opinion is not very far from what most people think.
I absolutely agree with you, after the first listen I managed to remember only seven songs, the rest are proverbial "fillers" that totally do not fit Niki's style and are a disaster, I must say that Niki took the easy way and I expected something better, luckily, "Super Freaky Girl" is one of my favorite Nicki songs so that kind of saves this album. (I don't even know how it ended up in ninth place in the ranking of the best albums of 2023 with such bad reviews)

Yup, she could've went with quality over quantity and kept it at this length. This is actually perfect, cus it has all the good songs and the tiktok hits. If she wanted money or chart support, then she could've released additional songs on different versions Taylor Swift style.
Honestly, I was disappointed with this album because we had been waiting for Niki's new album for 5 years. when I first listened to it, I had very bad feelings about it - cheesy covers of famous and iconic songs are not Nicki Minaj's style. I can say that this is her worst album and 3/4 of this album are bad songs
Pink Friday 2 is so disappointing and it doesn’t follow up on Pink Friday or Pink Friday Roman Reloaded much at all. Both of them showed Nicki’s versatility that she could make hip hop, pop, r&b, and dance. Plus, her Roman persona was fun, but it was absent on this album. This album feels a lot more like Pinkprint 2, but even Pinkprint has more standout songs than this.

First of all this album shouldn´t be called Pink Friday 2 because this is no sequel, there´s barely any resemblance with Pink Friday and it doesn´t even build on something that was on Pink Friday´s sidelines. The Gag City would be much better title (even though there´s no real gag) with the promo Barbz did for it. It should be much shorter. 22 songs is too much and Nicki is releasing even more. There´s so much filler on this album, if she cut it to 13 tracks it would become much stronger project. Also the rollout was completely terrible. Red Ruby Da Sleeze wasn´t even proper single, Last Time I Saw You just came and went, no music video, no promo outside of 1st week. FTCU, Everybody, Big Difference and Needle should be singles. 2 of them should´ve been pre-released. Very disappointed effort if i can even call it like that. Instead of stupid feuds with Megan Thee Stallion (who by the way released gag of the year with HISS, love it so much) and basically fighting with herself she should go back to studio, get herself some good producers, co-writers, collaborators and better management and clear her name from this mass and release actual Gag album.
