Great video. I had a 6.5x14" x 1/4" thick Clevelander brass snare that was about 35 pounds that had the triple cable / wire snare set up. The drum made even my beefiest snare drum stand wobble! Ultimately, I sold it to the percussionist from the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra.

I'm getting ready to restore an old Rogers Dynasonic snare drum. This is a smaller
marching drum from possibly the pate 60's or early 70's. Not sure. I am ordering
the Black Swamp snares and installing a Remo Renaissance head. Should sound
really good when I am finished. Love the sound and look of this drum. Anyway,
enough about the Rogers. Thanks for sharing your insights & knowledge Rick.

Hi Rick, great videos,i have a question, what kind of drum heads you recommend for 6,5" deep orchestra snare drum for ex.: diplomat thin on top and bottom or ambassador on top and thin on bottom,?

      Hi Mario
I normally use a diplomat snare head on the bottom (thinnest one) coated diplomat or a renaissance head on top. I also use a wide variety of calf and goatskin on top in the winter.
