I feel the same way about the historical twins haha. ‘Am I really that old?’ I grew up with dollar store eighteen inch dolls, never had American girl anything. It is wild to see the quality! And yes, we totally went to Pizza Hut as kids for the little personal pan pizzas. What a blast from the past!
Nicki’s dad was in a grunge band, and she shares that love of grunge with him. But honestly I wore both of those outfits in 1999 and even into the 2000s! I was 10 in 1999. My Isabel type outfit was from the Olsen twins’ Walmart fashion line! I wore a spaghetti strap tank dress in 2004 when I first went to the AG store and oversized plaid shirts to my middle school in the early 2000s. I wasn’t even a tomboy like they call Nicki - it was just what a lot of us wore! I love these dolls! They are my new favorites. I got the Book It even before the dolls. I did Book It in 1994/1995 when I was still little, but I have very fond memories of it. I do wish their names were more commonly used 90s names. I didn’t have any Isabels in my classes, and none of my friends named Nicole went by Nicki.
