I REALLY like this movie’s take on a zombie apocalypse. And I also like that they avoided the “social media makes people into zombies” thing that I’ve seen in some media and highlighted that it can be really helpful in disaster scenarios!

I had my friends over and I let them watch a movie as I was making dinner. We saw the movie together and we SCREAMED! In my opinion, this movie has some of the best thrills and jumpscares! We were always on the edge of our seats! We'd be hopeful then not and hopeful again and repeat. When the movie ended, I was bawling my eyes out because I was so happy they survived! Definitely a great watch I would recommend watching with friends for a scary movie night!

A few other things that Joon-woo could also have done: -Take the water from the toilet tank to drink. -Boil the booze to burn off a lot of the alcohol content. -Drank the liquid coolant from his PC(providing that the coolant is distilled water) Side note: The clock in Yoo-bin's Apartment reads 11:50 a.m, The clock in the man's apartment is 5:00 p.m. Those clocks are battery powered. So, they could have been in the elevator for hours. Both of them must have been really pent up.
my problem with the somewhat clever idea of distant bashing with a metal light stand, is the possibilities that: a) if it gets bloody, the zombies might be attracted to the scent b) it could easily be noisy and attract more attention, even on other levels. if there's zombies inside the apartments below, who's to say they won't respond and try to grab the object; c) they state the zombies have basic knowledge like opening doors, that it's possible (albeit unlikely) that the threat of being bashed from above would have them think to cover their bodies. it would require a lot of planning ahead of time, especially if there remains a likelihood that they adapt and learn. if they know how to open doors, it's a similar method - grab the metal light stand and push / pull like a door handle. if the "rope" (or whatever you're using) isn't strong enough, you could lose the potential weapon if they manage to pull it apart. and even if they don't pull it apart, it's possible (although very unlikely) you could be pulled down if you tried to save it, since you could use it for other means outside of that contraption (like barring a door shut).

I loooved this movie. There was something about it that felt very real. I enjoyed both the male and female mcs and the set mainly being that building. I just enjoyed how this was shot and thought the mcs did a lot of things right aside from running through the parking lot.
If you do everything correctly you actually have a high chance to survive considering everything, it's some of the MC dumb moves that got him into the plot armor situations, like going into the parking lot, or screaming constantly

Check corpse of neighbor to get into the apartment quietly, wrap something soft around shoes to absorb sound, using a laser pointer and binoculars to communicate quietly initially, wrap something around their wrists to avoid getting bit then. I’m glad they survived cause they were smarter than other characters in different media. Also, I like how in this movie guns were a last resort.

The ending is not believable at all. At that distance, a helicopter doesn’t just “sneak up” on you. They’re damn loud, you can hear them from really far away.
Yeah my dad used to be a rescue swimmer so he used to jump out of helicopters to help people and I used to see his helicopter lift off and they are loud as hell

Unlike other generic zombie movies, I actually liked this one. they did smart moves most of the time, didn't do dumb shit unless they had to, properly armed themselves and properly armored. except maybe the park running scene.

@@RagefulCunt I forgot to mention it here as I did in another thread, but this movie is set in South Korea which has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. If you get a hunting license your firearm(s) are kept at the police station. Airsoft guns (i.e. paintball guns) are also kept at the police station rather than the owners' homes, and tasers are illegal. I share the appreciation that this wasn't an insanely gun heavy shoot'em up zombie flick since it wouldn't have fit the setting in the slightest!
Imagine a Zombie retaining the memory that they were a functioning member of society and then continued that way even as a zombie, instead of eating humans they make their way to the local convenience store to scavenge for food. And also help survivors.
I have a few zombie au ocs like that (Mostly because its stupid to RP as a zombie that does nothing but kill all the time- Like wheres the fun in that? if you're gonna do that do it with a human like a cannibal (see red/vactor of sgcbarbarians crafting dead RP) makes it much more interesting IMO also being a zombie (like the helpful ones) means you wont get your charater killed in 5 seconds :D AND its really interesting trying to see how a zombie would fit in with a squad (or just solo depending on how your charater is)
I watched this video like a billion times in the past few months (10-9 months), and I can image me saying "dont worry, I watch cinema summery" But being honest, I watched like 20 of your videos and see of them I rewatched either once or a billion times-
I believe that the reason he was trash talking the zombie was because he was having a mental breakdown when he though his family died. I know that it's not what you should do if you want to live, but he wasn't in the best mental state.
For me most glaring problem was how the hell did he survived so long after running out of water? He would be dead within 3 days without water and alkohol would only make dehydration worse (especially strong spirits like whiskey). I didn't like how inconsistent the movie was with the power access. Even after power plant blew up they still had fully charged phones, landline was working and elevators worked! Also there were so manny moments whey they should have been bitten, it's like the zombies aren't even trying.
Zombies can think? Also, wall climbing isn't something that everyone can do. But I appreciate that the one zombie that decided to do so is a firefighter.
Yeah, that was an interesting touch. I dig it. Idk about them actually retaining memories though, i feel like it is more just a part of their subconscious that still 'remembers' things but not acual memories. Which is cool. That's just an idea tho. Maybe they do remember actual memories but the urge for a bite of flesh to turn other people is just too great. Which is kinda more terrifying :o
Like I said in another thread, civilians would be useful to soldiers that want to combat the Zombies, because they A: Can be trained to be soldiers and help. Or B: Farm and produce food for everyone. Either way, more MP is always useful. Especially in a Zombie apocalypse, where you need as many guns as there are zombies to stop them from advancing.

Roi Tran yep! In the movie he does eventually get a signal and hears his fam say they are at the dads office, but a couple secs later u hear zombies break in and you hear them attempt to escape. You hear the mom get torn apart, the dad screaming, and his sister screaming for help.
BenBucks the mother, guy in suit and little girl he gets really sad at seeing, which is shown in this video chasing him down a hallway. He was fighting, saw them and instantly ran from them. They’re the same people from the photograph and it would make sense, if zombies can retain memory, the family would return home. Especially seeing as they were on the phone with their son talking about him staying home wishing they were together, as they died.
If he reading Goblin Slayer, always opted for shield than weapons. Manga readers has better chance than Gamers in Zombie Apocalypse. World War Z Brad Pit armored himself with magazine. Good thinking.
I absolutely loved how this movie emphasizes connection. I don't think the scream he does when the policewoman gets eaten is to distract the zombies but to let the woman know that he's witnessing with anger whats happening to her, that he won't forget it. You can see it in her face how much brief moment of relief it brought her to know that she wasn't alone. That a person wss ready to expose himself just to let her know he's there even if it was completely futile by that point.
The reason he started yelling was because he heard his parents on his voicemail and it sounds like a horde got to them, so he went from thinking "my family is somewhere save and after all this i'll find them, i just need to stay alive" to "They've become one of those things.. everything i had is lost" so i get him rushing out and preparing to end his life in a last stand, but then deciding "no i won't become one of them"
I would've understood the guy but the moment a zombie gets the upper hanf or a horde comes he's just a big baby and probably almost got himself killed for his dumb behaviour Like I see it as he's angry and sick of having to be in fear of the zombies and tries to show his anger and fury to them only to be met with the same hungry looks of the zombies before he knew about his family's demise. I was so waiting for the guy to up and die already especially when he yells for a policewoman who had no chance of living as she was already bitten and dragged away. He could've try and distract the zombies away when she was in need of help and still not infected but nooo wait until she's a lost cause and then get himself almost killed for it

So of course he was scared, who tf wouldn't get scared of a group of zombies coming to eat you alive. In my second semester of my MLIS, we spent a whole week talking about how during the Boston Bombing and Hurricane Sandy, people would use Facebook and Instagram to let city services know which areas were damaged but not dangerous, where streets were blocked or to check in on loved ones without flooding 911.
You're right but the Boston Bombing is a bad example of social media helping solely because Reddit blamed a random missing person of being the bomber because he was brown and he stopped posting near the time the bombing happened... because he killed himself. This by itself wouldn't' be that terrible but because reddit is reddit they bombarded police with his info, harassed his friends and family online about him and blew up new stie comment sections with him info, went on facebook pages dedicated to finding him and spammed about how he's a murderer and a scumbag, repeatedly called his parents and doxxed their info online all because white redditors couldn't understand that maybe just maybe a hindu Indian student (who was missing because he killed himself) wouldn't have been the perp behind an Islamic radicalistic bombing. The police had to come out and demand this harassment stop.
I like how in this movie, the main character isn't really a badass. In TWD we got Daryl and Rick but in this movie the main guy is just a regular gamer

I love this style of narration!
Unlike other generic zombie movies, I actually liked this one. they did smart moves most of the time, didn't do dumb shit unless they had to, properly armed themselves and properly armored. except maybe the park running scene.

@@RagefulCunt I forgot to mention it here as I did in another thread, but this movie is set in South Korea which has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. If you get a hunting license your firearm(s) are kept at the police station. Airsoft guns (i.e. paintball guns) are also kept at the police station rather than the owners' homes, and tasers are illegal. I share the appreciation that this wasn't an insanely gun heavy shoot'em up zombie flick since it wouldn't have fit the setting in the slightest!

I have a few zombie au ocs like that (Mostly because its stupid to RP as a zombie that does nothing but kill all the time- Like wheres the fun in that? if you're gonna do that do it with a human like a cannibal (see red/vactor of sgcbarbarians crafting dead RP) makes it much more interesting IMO also being a zombie (like the helpful ones) means you wont get your charater killed in 5 seconds :D AND its really interesting trying to see how a zombie would fit in with a squad (or just solo depending on how your charater is)

Be the main character
For me most glaring problem was how the hell did he survived so long after running out of water? He would be dead within 3 days without water and alkohol would only make dehydration worse (especially strong spirits like whiskey).
I didn't like how inconsistent the movie was with the power access. Even after power plant blew up they still had fully charged phones, landline was working and elevators worked!
Also there were so manny moments whey they should have been bitten, it's like the zombies aren't even trying.
Zombies can think? Also, wall climbing isn't something that everyone can do. But I appreciate that the one zombie that decided to do so is a firefighter.

Yeah, that was an interesting touch. I dig it. Idk about them actually retaining memories though, i feel like it is more just a part of their subconscious that still 'remembers' things but not acual memories. Which is cool. That's just an idea tho. Maybe they do remember actual memories but the urge for a bite of flesh to turn other people is just too great. Which is kinda more terrifying :o

It's so weird seeing soldiers rescuing survivals. In Hollywood movies they just nuke the cities or kill the survivals too just to be sure
Like I said in another thread, civilians would be useful to soldiers that want to combat the Zombies, because they A: Can be trained to be soldiers and help. Or B: Farm and produce food for everyone. Either way, more MP is always useful. Especially in a Zombie apocalypse, where you need as many guns as there are zombies to stop them from advancing.
I thought that when the transformers and power plants exploded that it was the military bombing the city, I was so relieved that it wasn't.

Roi Tran yep! In the movie he does eventually get a signal and hears his fam say they are at the dads office, but a couple secs later u hear zombies break in and you hear them attempt to escape. You hear the mom get torn apart, the dad screaming, and his sister screaming for help.

BenBucks the mother, guy in suit and little girl he gets really sad at seeing, which is shown in this video chasing him down a hallway. He was fighting, saw them and instantly ran from them. They’re the same people from the photograph and it would make sense, if zombies can retain memory, the family would return home. Especially seeing as they were on the phone with their son talking about him staying home wishing they were together, as they died.

I absolutely loved how this movie emphasizes connection. I don't think the scream he does when the policewoman gets eaten is to distract the zombies but to let the woman know that he's witnessing with anger whats happening to her, that he won't forget it. You can see it in her face how much brief moment of relief it brought her to know that she wasn't alone. That a person wss ready to expose himself just to let her know he's there even if it was completely futile by that point.

The reason he started yelling was because he heard his parents on his voicemail and it sounds like a horde got to them, so he went from thinking "my family is somewhere save and after all this i'll find them, i just need to stay alive" to "They've become one of those things.. everything i had is lost" so i get him rushing out and preparing to end his life in a last stand, but then deciding "no i won't become one of them"
I would've understood the guy but the moment a zombie gets the upper hanf or a horde comes he's just a big baby and probably almost got himself killed for his dumb behaviour
Like I see it as he's angry and sick of having to be in fear of the zombies and tries to show his anger and fury to them only to be met with the same hungry looks of the zombies before he knew about his family's demise.
I was so waiting for the guy to up and die already especially when he yells for a policewoman who had no chance of living as she was already bitten and dragged away. He could've try and distract the zombies away when she was in need of help and still not infected but nooo wait until she's a lost cause and then get himself almost killed for it

So of course he was scared, who tf wouldn't get scared of a group of zombies coming to eat you alive. This has happened in real life too. Social Media has enormous potential to help with natural disasters and other emergency situations. In my second semester of my MLIS, we spent a whole week talking about how during the Boston Bombing and Hurricane Sandy, people would use Facebook and Instagram to let city services know which areas were damaged but not dangerous, where streets were blocked or to check in on loved ones without flooding 911.
Unfortunately social media is sometimes being used to hurt others, thankfully we have good people in this world 🌎

You're right but the Boston Bombing is a bad example of social media helping solely because Reddit blamed a random missing person of being the bomber because he was brown and he stopped posting near the time the bombing happened... because he killed himself. This by itself wouldn't' be that terrible but because reddit is reddit they bombarded police with his info, harassed his friends and family online about him and blew up new stie comment sections with him info, went on facebook pages dedicated to finding him and spammed about how he's a murderer and a scumbag, repeatedly called his parents and doxxed their info online all because white redditors couldn't understand that maybe just maybe a hindu Indian student (who was missing because he killed himself) wouldn't have been the perp behind an Islamic radicalistic bombing. The police had to come out and demand this harassment stop.
