PC-DMIS Quick Features Anywhere | CMM Tech Tips - CMMXYZ

This Tech Tip Video from CMMXYZ highlights a new programming tool in PC-DMIS 2017 R1. Quick Features Anywhere. This enhancement allows you to create Quick Features with open dialog boxes like Dimension or Construction which will save you valuable programming time!
Hey, so today I wanted to talk about Quick Features, and more specifically, a new feature called "Quick Features Anywhere." So we all know about Quick Features, that's been around since 2014. It's one of my favorite new editions in the last few years. The way it works, quickly, is you just hold down the "Shift" key, and mouse over your features, and it will automatically create planes, circles, cylinders, spheres, it's just that quick.
So the addition to the software in 2017, the enhancement is that now we can open a dialog box like a dimension dialog, and create quick features at the same time. So you can see as I'm just creating the features, they're in the feature list of the dimension dialog. So we can just hit "Create," and we have our dimensions.
So this also works with other dialogs like construction. For example, if I wanna construct a plane from points, I can just hold "Ctrl" and "Shift" and you can see my vector points on the top there are being created, and they're also being placed in my constructed plane dialog. So you can see, I have five points, my plane, three, I can rename that if I want. Top plane, and create. So it saves a few steps. So it's really nice, real quick, I really like this. If they're really switching to this live mode, just mousing over features, quickly creating them, and incorporating them into dialog boxes.
