I can clearly see what it was. It's a movie star from being in atomic train (1999) along with BCOL 644, 643, & 641. Today, 642 & 644 are still operating without BCOL, due to BCOL being formed into CN. If you do know that 642 & 644 are scrapped, no. They're operating today as of 2019.
@Trey Epperley so that's the movie West Rail 642 was in?*
Wow, what are they're numbers as of now?
644 and 647 are still in operation with a Quebec shortline, and 641 along with 646 belong to the same shortline but they will be used to supply parts to 644 and 647
one of the locomotives was also in Final Destination.
Can't believe there is still some equipment out there in the original BC Rail green, nice. Brings back memories of the early 80's and living so close to the BC Rail mainline.
That lead engine is the same one used for the lead engine for the titular runaway in "Atomic Train!" At the time, it was BC Rail 642, but after production of the movie they repainted it in the red, white and blue colors that it still has today.
That K5H horn sounds lovely. Not many of these remaining.
Also a movie star.
Still have their original horns too! Love it!
Beautiful footage of these rare engines! I have subscribed.
His profile pic is a BC Rail C40-8M
An "Atomic Train" in real life.
How cool is that. 😀
Fun fact: the lead unit is actually the locomotive used in the movie
@@alexandergrube6437 NEVER SAW THAT ONE COMING!!!
This unit has the best horn I have ever heard
Crazy Kaboose K3H
Yeah, it does sound pretty good. In "Atomic Train" they just dubbed it over with that stock Sound Ideas diesel train horn sound effect that was used on "Sly Fox and Birdie."
@@mic8040 K5H
running red classlights-love it!!!!!
Hi I'm putting together a UA-cam Video on the M420's, would it be ok if I used some of this footage?
The BC RAIL ENGINE in green is that an ALCO engine? I am familiar with the lead engine. I have the GE AC44 9W version in HO scale. 😀 Enjoy watching this video. 🎥👍✅⭐⭐⭐⭐A winner.
La M420W de y la C425 esa maquina la uso para las peliculas Atomic Train y Final Run .
I saw an NS train pulling BC Rail, CN and BNSF engines
The M420 has gotta be second most beautiful Alco/ MLW locomotive ever designed. Besides of course the Alco PA. Yup,those Alco/MLW girls got curves.
Very nice video!! Amazing
That was awesome. Great video!
Fun fact idk: 2042 used to be WestRail642 but it was repainted into a BCrail and it was renumbered to 2042) I think
Wrong, Westrail doesn't exist irl, it's a fictional railroad. They are basically the same MLW M420 (which is leading in the vid) repainted it and put it in the movie Atomic Train (1999).
Yeah this unit was built as BCOL 642 and then went on to GVT and became MHWA 642 and later MHWA 2042.
WabashCannonBall i was saying that it painted into west rail 642 for a movie
So don’t judge me if I messed up
@@iiLuxis Yeah, WestRail's paint scheme reminded me of a mashup of the old BC Rail, CSX and Rio Grande paint schemes.
Bro lookin Like TCN&R 4920 from atomic train 💀💀💀 0:38
Because it IS… kinda
At the short line I used to work for, they have 644, 646 and 647.
Noice! Eventually I'd like to get out and see OSRX.
Well 644 and 647 are up at Guelph, they were paired together at one point. Don't know if they are still. 646 is stored at Mount Elgin near Salford.
@@pooleandrew At least they're all still around up there. Theres not many of these left.
Arkangel Productions very true
In Québec at Chemin de fer Sartigan to.
What, i thought the m420w locomotive series was retired. Also good catch.
It actually isn't BC Rail green, it was the official Paint scheme of BCR predecessor Pacific Great Eastern
Strange crossing, I'm assuming they use traffic lights as the crossing signals?
Pretty much.
Who else has seen B.C. Rail 4620?
Interesting locomotive. We have nothing like that here in the United States.
Long live the BCOL K5h
WOO WOO
Wait why does the lead locomotive look familiar?
It was in "Atomic Train" and there are also a billion photos of the unit.
Arkangel Productions oh that’s why.
Lets hope the railroad considers preserving the engine due to its movie star status
Is that a k5h or k5l?
Those are some weird ditch lights
I subscribed nice video
Where is this at?
Rome, NY. Not too far from Utica.
