  • Today we're checking out a 65' Deluxe Reverb Re-issue that I picked up from a pawn shop for just over $500! What a steal! if you have a chance to pick one of these up, i would go ahead and pull the trigger! One of the most recorded amps ever, and you won't be disappointed.

Two things about the reverb; yes that’s totally normal for the reverb to come on so strong that early, it’s just how the circuit is tuned (can be adjusted with some mods) and yes those bigger reverb tanks will sound much larger than the smaller ones you’re probably used to with your Mesa. Nice find though. Good work!

At that price, I would buy it even if one of the channels was out. Or bad reverb. That's a $1700 amp new! Outstanding find and you are correct about the reverb on the fender. I have played many new and old fender amps and literally just bought a 68 custom reissue and the reverb is crazy. I never go past 3 on mine. Also, the louder you get the more reverb you'll have to dial in to compensate for the extra volume.

Thank you! And I agree! Definitely a great deal, and man I never would have imagined the reverb being crazy like that but I couldn’t pass it up!

Those amps were only $900 brand new only a few years ago, or COVID you could get one from guitar center for $900 brand new, that must have been 5 years ago or so. If that amp he bought is 2018 or older it's an under$1000 amp so $500 for a broken reverb spring is a good deal for sure !

I had a Deluxe Reverb back in the early 70's and foolishly sold it. I haven't stopped kicking myself for being so foolish! I bought a small portable electric organ and the Fender just happened to go with it. I think I gave $250.00 for both of them.

Oh man that is an awesome deal! I’m honestly not much of a fender guy, or wasn’t until I plugged into this one. Now I understand what I’ve been missing out on!

Sounds really good to me but the reverb doesn't sound right. Maybe it's because of the spring tank !?

Yes that is kind of what my thought was as well! I’m not sure if I should change it to something different, but all in all sounds decent!

This one is definitely different than what I am used to hearing! Maybe it’s the mojotone tank I purchased, I’m not entirely sure!
