The oil level sensor fault came at 130K km on this M112 Engine, it is relatively cheap and easy project if yours is faulty do not risk damaging your engine. Thanks, Max.
Thanks my friend, I think dipstick is still a simple and practical solution, not only for checking the level but also for the quick sample taking and looking at the colour and viscosity.
Have you tried the MB workshop oil dipstick for M112 & M113? I suggest never buy it because its so inaccurate, smears all over, and both sides read different oil level so this sensor is still the BEST way to know oil level. All your in videos are nice by saving MB owners $$$ 💯
Hi Brian, yes I have those type of Dipstick and you are right, it doesn't work, it might for the transmission though since the oil pan is more shallow.
@Leo555ZZZ Thanks, Leo.Yes, but this car being my wife's daily, usually travels shorter trips which is not ideal but in my opinion 5w-30 is a good all rounder oil for all seasons and with the oil quality advancement I have found it very suitable for M112 - M113 and M272.
@@BenzAddiction I did use 5w-30 for a while in my low mileage CLK320 , but later I used 5w-40 which I think is what is usually used in these engines. But no problem , 5w-30 is probably fine , especially in the very strong M112 and M113.

Great Max, very informative and straight forward as per your other videos.
Dipsticks are the analogue of the oil level check, and still the simplest👍

Another great video @BenzAddiction! Unfortunately on our E320, the lower pan has to be dropped for the oil level sensor.
Yes, correct, there are 2 types of oil sensors, and yours is probably is the 2-peice one.
Great video. My m113 on 2006 w215 doesn't have an oil sensor just a dipstick
Good to know.

@@MaedehBorchloo Thanks for watching Maedeh 😉
Love your channel Max
Thanks Dennis :)
Thank you for this video... Just one question about the oil level. I have a cLK500 from 2003 to be sure the oli level is 8 liters ? Thanks again
Start from 7 and check on a level surface, add if needed.
Another good one Max ..
Thanks for the handy information.
ps , I thought that in hot QLD you would use 5w-40 ?
