    That's not a sniper, that's a guy firing a .50HMG on single shot. You hear him hitting the bolt latch release after every shot, allowing the action to come forward. That, and he's firing a tracer every fifth round, and isn't stopping to reload.

      Chris Ouellet I also do not think it is an A-10 either.
      the sound of the High Bypass turbofan engines of an A-10 are more unique than a normal Jet engine. Plus you cannot hear the gun firing between the impacts and the jet pulling off target, something you can always hear in every video of an A-10 strafe. This looks to be a strafe from a regular vulcan 20mm from a more conventional fighterjet, or possibly even a CBU drop.

      .50hmg can be fired single shot AND I've seen them with acogs and even scopes. I think inremeber hearing somewhere a guy used one as a sniper rifle of sorts.

      No way the 50 cal can be used as a sniper, keeping shooting and use the extra ammo to coat the area with rounds. It was always meant to be used in conjunction with more accurate infantry fire.

    Love how half the comments are people saying,"Wow terrible sniper. Shot 30 times before he hit the guy" or "I could do better". Like you for real? You probably could not use a 30. 30. and shoot a target 200 yards. This guy was shooting 1000+ yards at moving targets. Yeah I would suspect he will miss a good bit of shots. And about the people who say that snipers only shoot twice then leave that spot. Yeah thats fucking retarted when you have a A-10 warthog above you and a whole squad or platoon behind you. No point in moving. Its not like the taliban are sharpshooters with an RPG. Stop watching war movies thinking you know exactly what a good sniper is. Respect to that sniper. I could never do that. Even with 1000 shots.

    The weapon used is the m2 50 cal heavy machine gun in single shot mode. You can see this, by every 5 shot is a tracer round just like a normal belt fed weapon, and you can hear it when the bolt closes. It is accurate, but not a sniper riffel.

    Sniper could mean "squad designated marksman" in this case. In order to get that you typically need to have been through Sniper school. Unless you are SF or in some other elite unit, if you have Sniper School under your belt, you don't go out solo and pick off enemy forces from afar. You hang with your platoon, provide precision fire when necessary, and act as another element of your squad. This guy is probably just the designated marksman of this squad, and he's doing his best to lay down fire with his weapon. The only weapon in the area that can reach out that far. Just something to think about before you go bashing on the "sniper" for "wasting rounds" and "not being able to hit the broad side of a barn".

    PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT: The shooter isn't that bad, what with engaging a target at the very edge of his rifle's effective range. That's at least 1900 yards you're looking at (assuming a .338 or .50, extrapolated from flight time and typical long-range loadings), and 3 to 3.5 seconds of flight time.
    If you've never: done LR shooting beyond 1500 yards on point targets; know what "BC" means; or touched anything with $1000 sunk into just the unbarreled action of the rifle before, then please refrain from talking shit.

      @austinliu3578 9 років тому +2

      XIOUH Why is he an idiot? Personally, I believe he is right. Ryan Claus and Alan Parker summed it up quite well. The lack of a reload combined with only hearing one sound after each shot points toward a malfunctioning weapon with a large magazine capacity. I highly doubt it is a bolt-action sniper rifle, as there is only the sound of the bolt moving in one direction, while bolt-actions have to go both ways. Not exactly sure if it's a M2, but I can't really tell having had no experience with any of the mentioned guns.

    • @ryanclaus2629

      Definitely not a bolt-action rifle as there's no quad bolt lock sound. You pull the bolt up, forward, back, and down. You can typically hear both the forward and backward motion, and sometimes the up and down depending on how hard he is slamming the bolt open and closed.

    Just to give all the ‘Warrior Wanabes’ an idea, this guy is shoot at a moving target that is about 6350 feet away. That’s based off the idea he is using a .308 rifle with 175g BTHP ammo with a Velocity of 2645fps. If you think its so easy to hit a target with a .308, or even a .50 at even 5000 feet you’re deluding yourself.
    The flight time of the bullet in this video is a cadence count of one one thousand, two one thousand three so 2.3-2.4 seconds, from fire to impact. So yea, way more than a 1000 yard shot, its closer to a one mile shot. Granted the distance is going to vary based on the actual rifle used, but even at 2500 feet per second that is one hell of a shot he is making.

    You might want to change the title to this video Funker... First off, that is not an A-10 in the begining... That is either a F-18 or F-16... You can clearly tell by the sound of the engine. Second, that is not a sniper, it is a guy firing the M2 Browning single shot.

  • @fuzzyferguson6975
    @fuzzyferguson6975 10 років тому +79

    That definitely isn't a sniper for several reasons. 1) He is shooting way too much without any hits, 2) He wouldn't be wasting .50 cal rounds like that for nothing, and 3) snipers usually don't shoot from the same place more than two or three times. This guy acts like he's at the range and is just sending rounds downrange with no results. Good thing there wasn't an enemy sniper around.

      I don't think carrying a sniper rifle is what makes you a sniper, I'm pretty sure it's about distance and whatnot
      Like, you flip your M16 over to semi, and start tracking your shots and whatnot over that range
      I'd call that sniping, personally

  • @Shitwhig
    @Shitwhig 11 років тому +2

    Thanks for posting this. I'm glad the sniper has steadier aim than the cameraman! Was the sniper using tracer rounds or shooting from a 50 cal MM? Even if it sucks 99.99% of the time to be deployed, you guys seem to be having a good time in this video.

USA politics=aggression, weapon and fear are the solution. I could be a MILES gear analyst for Funker--if you're wearing MILES gear you better watch-out if I'm around; I wasted an entire squad who was wearing MILES gear--ran right up on 'em and let 'em have it--they all beeped to death (that's when I knew I was in the right place--that combat was for me--up until someone zapped me back, anyway). I'd have to be wearing MILES gear, too, or I can't analyze MILES gear--actually, I'm probably not your guy. I can see that you aware of the fact that it is million times more sophisticated nature of thing than the vast majority thinks here. It is not about bad guys (Muslims) vs good guys (Americans or British...) in a B&W World of COD games or movies. Europe learnt the fact that wars in general brings only losses and suffer and pain. USA did not have war on it land (apart from an an army island in WW2)

    I understand it might be, but Im not sure if youve used a M2HB allot but to me it sounds like a .50 being racked back after every shot because its on single shot after u turn the selector where the buffer is on the back and it lets go of the sear. Ive been a military weapons instructor for 5 years including using that in Afghanistan in 2010. I've personally used it in exactly like the shooter in the video did when I was in Afgh.
