Yes, she was very graceful in her take-chargeness--that's how I like to describe it! Did you notice in the beginning she asked the host if she could begin? That was her way of ushering him in the right direction.😂
I love the clips where Aretha is cooking because it shows how down to earth she could be. Whenever Aretha was interviewed about her music and the interviewer would try to get her to open up more and be candid she would always just shut down and give nice pat answers. Whenever I watch these these cooking segments with Aretha I notice there was an ease and comfort that she never seemed to have when it came to talking about her music.
I just realised I didnt include the interview at the piano - Ill upload the rest of it later tonight - yes totally agree - she seems more at ease discussing other issues other than her craft and talent tbh
@@MrsMattMurphy I know it's kind of late commenting on this but there is a clip of Aretha being interviewed and the interviewer brings up her songwriting. It's on youtube if you type Aretha underrated songwriting. He tried to get her to delve into it a little bit and her attitude was basically "whatever." She had zero interest in talking about it. It's disappointing though because there are singers without a fraction of Aretha's talent who will talk in great detail about what they do but Aretha was always the complete opposite of that.
A friend of mine was privileged to eat MissFranklin’s, ox tail soup, at a function held at the church. My friend said it is really true, Aretha can cook. Miss Franklin, didn’t attend the function but sent the soup.
