When the “wand” was made of metal & lasted the life of the hoover & beyond, unlike the inferior brittle plastic ones of today.
That vacuum tho 👀😭
She was so happy to find that quarter.
A quarter was like a dollar back then... I think. You could get a lot lot more with a quarter then obviously so you'd probably feel yourself if you found a dollar bill while cleaning, depending on how broke you are.
@@helenhoward5346 Closer to $3 actually.
That sounds like Eve Arden doing the voiceover
Do people still clean their curtains like this? I've seen it in Bewitched and it always amused me.
i just put mine in the washing machine lol
I do because I find washing them in the washing machine often wears them out faster. I occasionally wash them, but this works well for in between.
If you have allergies, absolutely. Washing doesn't really cut it when dust settles.
@@bunny_0288 exactly! Back then, they wanted everything to last as long as possible.
I throw mine in the wash!
That quarter would buy a loaf of bread or a gallon of gas back then.
I needed this
👍
Are those chickens on the curtains?
I bet that vacuum actually worked well & not like the crap dysons that are terrible & break these days.
Fyi, it's a Lewyt Model 88. I've never used one, but I agree with you about its likely performance.
What in the world was that vacuum??!
Probably an Electrolux. They were exceptional vacuum cleaners, with a lifetime guarantee. Years ago, A family friend bought an old Electrolux at a yard sale. He sent it to the manufacturer for refurbishment and they completely overhauled the entire thing.
@@1Melody1963 It's in fact a Lewyt Model 88.
