Welcome Mattyk! You know I've always thought the same thing about Funhouse but the more I play it, the more I'm starting to kind of like it actually lol. It plays a lot like Road Show, lots of ramps and loops! Plus the Dummy toys!
Sorry I missed this one guys. I've been lost in the world of learning OBS for the last week. Happy day of birth Balchie and well done Mike good score. I've not played this table yet, Congrats if you made it onto the Scoreboard.
All good Jabba! You know you're always welcome in our tournaments ANY time. And we completely understand if you can't. Plus I know you've been busy with figuring out OBS so no worries! Thanks for wishing Balchie a happy birthday, I know he'll appreciate it! And yeah, Michael coming in 1st was awesome and surprising but also well deserved!
Haha which Seinfeld episode was that? I love that show! Only Biff reference I know is from Back to the Future. Happy New Years too you as well Anjolas! I wish I had some more Street Fighter content for you lol. How you been man?!
Thanks Michael for wishing Balchie a happy birthday! I think last I checked he was in 1st place in your Kung Fu Panda tournament haha. Balchie does get a pinball birthday cake lol, that would actually be an awesome cake. Like a pinball machine cabinet cake that you can eat and play before eating? haha i love that idea Draky!
@NewLeaf88 yeah he had a big score on Kung Fu Panda! He did really well. He should get a full size playable pinball machine - that happens to be completely edible 😂
Haha Draky, I'm not so sure Balchie would want to eat the pinball machine because he might get so attached to it lol. Now I want to play and eat a pinball cake...
Thanks Krobs for congratulating Michael! It's always nice to see people climb to the top and do well! You're welcome as always Krobs! Good luck to everyone as well :) Don't let Rudy get to you haha!
Honestly, same for me Leon! I've always avoided this table for some reason, probably because its so frustratingly difficult lol. Yeah, limited attempts would have made this tournament impossible!
You got a good score in the video, good job! I doubt I can beat that, such a hard table to play, never get an opportunity to actually learn how to play it.
Thanks PFXFan! Yeah 1 million on Funhouse with 1 ball is pretty decent but I feel like I can do a little better haha. Hard table indeed! I think I'm getting better at using the third flipper to hit Rudy's mouth which can add a lot of points (I believe). Keep at it ALWAYS, PFXfan! Also, Happy New Years to you in the land down undah!
Ooh Funhouse, hard table right ? Sorry I didn't get time to reply to your message, I did read it though. Will reply to it when I get time, got plenty to say lol and takes a while to think and type 😆.
You know I had always thought Funhouse was a hard table but since I've been playing it a lot more recently, I'm actually finding it very enjoyable but still somewhat difficult. The shot with the third flipper for Rudy and the Trap Door are the hardest on the table imo. And take your time Raul! No rush, I do the same all the time. Just happy you're here!
Console gaming basically died at one point too. The big video game crash killed Atari, Colecovision & Intellivision all tanked. Same problem where the market was flooded by too many companies with too many bad games, bad consoles, etc... Nintendo basically saved the industry with the NES. I never noticed that Pat Lawlor had a habit of using a 3rd flipper as well as the double inlanes. That's a fun fact. Yeah, when working with a license you do have a lot of constraints. Basically everything has to get cleared/passed by the rights holders. It slows the whole thing down and can cause a lot of headaches. Superman 64 is a game known for being infamously bad and part of the reason is that everything they wanted to do got turned down by the rights holders. They had to argue with them and constantly change/remove things and most of their development time was wasted. Superman was not allowed to punch people, swim, etc... And this was after they already implemented/created these mechanics.
I had never really considered that the console gaming market could 'crash' tbh. I always figured the market was consistently on the rise with the influence of advanced technology/microprocessors etc. But I think any market is capable of crashing, some more than others though. Like you said, I pretty much bought into the video game market once Nintendo released the NES so I never thought about all the failed systems/games beforehand. Would you say the console "Golden Age" was somewhere in the mid 90's to early 2000s? You had the NES, SNES, Genesis, N64, Saturn, PlayStation, Gameboy...it just seems like that was the time when everyone was crazy about owning the latest video game console. Nowadays it doesn't feel that way anymore because of the competition with PC Gaming and VR. Do you know if console gaming is on the downward spiral or is it kind of consistent or even going up? You raise so many great points about all the constraints put on by the rights holders of these licensed themes, Dom! I can honestly say I've never seen or heard about the Superman 64 game and it goes to prove your point. I think you have a case of two different groups of people with largely different skillsets each with their own vision. The rights holders are not video game designers so they don't really know what's best or in the market most times. Whereas the designers might have been working on video game design for years and know what will sell. It's a recipe for disaster sometimes. Same thing happens in movies as well, which we've discussed before.
@@NewLeaf88 For me, it feels like my fondest memories of gaming were from my childhood but I suppose that's the case for most things for most people. I adore the sega genesis and playstation 1 and even ps2/gamecube. I don't have the same nostalgia or sense of awe and wonder for ps3, ps4 & ps5. That being said though, I believe the switch is nintendo's best selling home console and sony is making more money than ever. GTA 6 apparently cost a few billion dollars to make. You can't tell me that the video game market isn't in a healthier state (financially at least) than ever before. I do think though that gaming doesn't feel as special as we no longer have those rivalries and things between consoles anymore. Everything is all the same.
Yeah, the case was the same for me pretty much. By the time the PS3 and Xbox 360 were out, I was already "growing" out of gaming as weird as that sounds. I mean I still played video games (always have and always will) but I was focusing on other things so they didn't seem nearly as important. The Gamecube vs Original Xbox was the last "console war" I remember being a part of. I remember days before the launch and after, it's all we would talk about at lunch - comparing launch titles and specs and whatnot. I do feel though that the video game market is a lot different than it was before. And I think a large part of it has to do with the start of PC gaming. I think before PC's were still a lot more expensive and gaming for PC's wasn't really a thing. Of course you still had games for the computers, but now you have people developing games with just PC in mind, like the exclusives that you can't find on consoles. But I also think its hard to completely "shut out" consoles because they target a completely different set of demographics. Not everyone wants a gaming computer and a lot of people just like the simplicity of consoles - the plug and play aspects of it. All this to say, I don't really ever see the gaming industry going away, I think its only changing/advancing.
@@NewLeaf88 Yeah, the gaming industry will be here forever. I think its all just slowly merging into giant companies and less variation. Don't get me wrong, indies will always exist, but I remember there being middle of the shelf games back in the day as well. Games made by middle sized studios and that's not really a thing anymore. Its all massive games or little indies. I also miss the age of portable gaming. Gameboy, Gameboy advance, psp, DS, etc.. I used to adore those consoles. Now we have phones and the switch but they don't really scratch that itch for me.
You bring up a great point, Dom! Some of the middle of the pack type of games were the ones I found the most interesting even if they got bad reviews. Also, they were slightly more affordable than newer Triple A titles so buying them was a risk you could take. Something I think might eventually die out though are specialized gaming stores like Game Stop because of the emphasis on cloud gaming/servers. But I remember thrifting for used titles and games at those shops and it very much being an experience unto itself. I don't know if most of those stores have gone out of business but you just don't see them around as much anymore. They had a wider selection of unique titles as well. Now if you go to like Walmart or Best Buy, the gaming section only has the latest and newest games instead of those middle of the shelf types. Portable gaming is interesting. I never really delved into it that much aside from the original "Brick" Gameboy and GBA. I remember playing A LOT of the early Pokemon titles though. I think Crystal or Silver. But pretty much I stuck to console gaming. I remember portable gaming was huge in school because you could basically bring your games to school lol. I think that was the main sell of them back in the day before smart phones and cellphones. Kids would just play their games in class and teachers would have to take them away lol.
I forgot how tough Funhouse is! It's so unforgiving. I had a few tries last night. Will try again. I'm mattyk 👍

Don't let Rudy get to you haha!
Ok Biff 😄
Haha Krobs, I read that in Rudy's voice..It's hard not to lol. "You can have it back, Bucko"
🤣
This is actually one of the few tables I haven’t played in any form. Good thing it’s unlimited attempts!

I managed to get 2 million through luck 😆 frustrating trying to beat my current score.
Happy New year Biff! 😆
Haha that put a big smile on my face, PFXFan! Because I read that in Rudy's weird voice lol.
