Pretty sure I read that it's being widened a bit when the new structure goes in. Funnily enough, I had to wait for a lorry that was stuck when I went to get this footage.
I gather there's been a bit more progress on Forster Square so I may try to get some video next time I'm out that way. Let me know if anything else has changed in Bradford area recently.
When I look back to the mid sixties train spotting at the old Wheatleys Colliery Bridge it was 4 tracks to Heaton Lodge and 2 tracks to Bradley Wood Junction. Admittedly the bridges and track all require upgrading but how much time and money would have been saved had it remained in situ?
At 0.36 we see two Notwork Rail" employees not working and at 6.18 we see three Notwork Rail employees not working! Take it easy guys: there's no rush!
If the current mindset was put back to even 70 years ago we would likely still be in an enquiry type situation on, the M1, M6, The Humber Bridge, The Channel Tunnel, the list goes on. People are too precious about things. It's an unassuming bridge that likely 99 percent of the population have no care about or even knowledge of.

Can’t get the electric catenary through ( under) the bridge aperture so has to go
From the next bridge down from Wheatley's, I could see evidence of the double tracks to Bradley

Another step towards an uglier future. I welcome the principle of the upgrade but not at any price.
I can certainly see your point. Quite a few historic structures will be lost or affected by major changes.
