These last two tiers were brutal and really did a number on morale. But I don't think I would have made it through this tier if NEST wasn't such a fun group to be a part of. Looking forward to many more tiers with NEST come Dawntrail.
yeah... i haven't done 9-12S but P8S really made several of the members of the static i was in Burn out.
Hopefully first tier of Dawntrail will be a lot less frustrating ... the static I'm in also got super frustrated trying to prog Classical Concepts 2 and both Caloric Theories.
Yeah, Abyssos was a rough tier. Anabaseios was less so until you hit Athena. This fight was...Just so mentally taxing.

I've finally gotten around to commenting, but it's been an absolute blast raiding with yall. From P8S, to UWU, and now to P12S. It's been absolute journey. I was so far behind when I stepped in to help and yall just coached me to victory. It's been so amazing. Love you guys and I look forward to future endeavors
Whether you join the savage raids or simply return in "And friends" content( I hope and friends returns, maybe not as a mount farm group, but just another group for the extremes is nice) I look forward to seeing you in the future, you are an absolute gem of a person.

Honestly for calorics I'm really bummed that they didn't build off of the chess mechanic from Delubrum Reginae Savage
If the mechanic was modeled after the chess mechanic, it would have been so much better, instead of arbitrarily pixel guessing and sometimes still exploding because you started slightly off center and got the pattern where you had to go far. Caloric was just an awfully designed mechanic, especially when DRS had a better implementation of it already. (And no, it's technically not hard after you learn it, but the jank can get super frustrating).

I have such mixed feelings of this fight. It has some really cool mechanics, but they JUST miss the mark. It could've been spectacular, but it just fell short.

Honestly after raiding in PF i kinda felt the last few % of the boss you had and before you killed. I realy love your Videos Drak (and Team) its like a second love with the game. Keep on all of you and have a great time till the next expansion :)
I'm so glad the sound effect when someone falls/walks off the edge is still being used. It's funny every time. And it's not just Corey doing it!
Just finally got the mount and I have a few things to say about this fight: phase 1 is the hardest experience you will have when it comes to this fight. Phase 2, while difficult, it tremendously more lenient timewise. That being said with more time to do mechs means stricter conditions. I HATE pfing this fight but I love reclearing and helping with it.

The absolute shade to make the TOP cheat part of the final phase of the savage tiers for this expansion is sheer hilarity to me. It never ceases to make me laugh, cus you know damned well the dev team got a whole metric fuckton of schadenfreude jabbing the TOP cheat clear team with this.
While funny, the fight was likely designed and in the later stages of implementation when the memorable TOP not!clear happened.
I love the little jesse drone art!! Also drak, genuine question, i know there was a lot of background stuff cause of the podcast but do you think woops will be returning to nest in the 7.x series raids? Like i know you said you dont want to have people who have already cleared in there so maybe as a guest appearance on reclears if nothing else? Idk i just enjoy the energy he brings...i assume spofie will be returning since she had a mental health break rather than any issues
Congratulations! Not blaming you for reading about the strats, this fight is terrible. It killed my static and my will to play the game anymore. Ugh.
You can see how done the group is with the fight by the genuine "I am so sorry" from Rhaya after that Ifrit dash. Wasn't even an attempt at comedy there, just pain and suffering.

I had to watch this again, because I finally cleared my first Savage Tier and had to revel in the feeling of how it feels to clear a Savage Tier at current. Arcadion Light-Heavyweight Savage completed
Congratulations on the clear. I went through it on PF for a first clear twice, and it was painful. 2nd Phase, for me, was easier than the first, but honestly? It was P10S that really had me raging this tier. I was lucky to have strats out and set by the time I got to P12. I've seen people just plain get fed up and drop out of this fight, so yeah... I don't blame ya for looking up strats after some time. Hope those that did not make it to the end are doing well, I'm not in the know on any of the drama that may or may not have happened, and I wish you all the best going to Dawntrail.

I noticed his presence in like dialogue was getting increasingly less each of drak’s video so I assumed he was going away.
Then I saw a comment in another video saying something like they parted ways and woops said not to make a big deal outta it.
They mentioned and explained it in the post-tier podcast.
I wanna say Spofie isn't in it either but not sure about that one.
@@felixamari157 Spofie had to step away for a while due to a lot going on near the end of 2023. It's posted on her Twitter, when I googled just now, her Mom got cancer, and she had a few stream events she had to try and act upbeat for during it Xmas time, and she just needed to take a mental health break from streaming and such. Whether she comes back to NEST specifically, I can't say. She probably will when things settle down IRL, and she is comfortable with getting back into things.

Am I the only one that called those D20/D6/D4? ...
I loved Abyssos but Anabaseios was probably the worst tier out of all of them for my semicasual static. The obtuse mechanics, sheer number of body checks in weird places (TREMBLE), and the over-reliance on limit cut-style mechanics, combined with my static having to find new people literally every time we got to a new fight burnt us out so bad that a lot of us aren't raiding in Dawntrail. I really hope the team goes back to analyze these tiers to note down what they did right and wrong so that Arcadion doesn't end up like this.

Congrats on the win. I don't blame you for basically being frustrated with this fight, there's a lot of "one person screwed up/wrong spot" and you wipe mechanics. It was pretty ludicrous.
As someone who recently started doing just EXs and not even raids, the absolute outburst at the end of a successful fight is so relatable. Days spent on a fight for it to finally click and just all that dopamine hitting.
At that point, it was weeks on part 2 alone and I imagine it was less dopamine and more liberation.

I started to learn that fight is september 2023 .... after so many strokes of bad luck I'm 1 month away from Dawntrail, 9 months later, and still haven't cleared this fight T_T

I feel like every fight that I genuinely enjoy and vibe with is a fight that NEST collectively wants to light on fire and murder lol. I really loved this fight, and am currently working on PF'ing the whole tier on every role.

Major congrats on the clear. I *hated* this fight overall. Some parts were neat, but nearly everything being a "oops !wrong! DIE" wore on me. Especially Caloric I. Fuck Caloric I
Yeah, I can't imagine doing Caloric *blind.* It's basically Light Rampant redux. It's a really shitty mechanic and one of the hard walls of the fight.
This tier has felt like such garbage for me, I literally stopped having fun and I forced myself to stop playing the game, I haven't touched the game since December.

I find UAV such a salty reference by Square Enix to a Zoom Hack. "You want to see your character like a tiny doll on a tiny map? Here, this is what you look like, now dodge these mechanics that need zoom-out to see the telegraph. "
Kind of like they're salty that both their latest Ultimates have had Zoom Hacks involved in their World First races. And they can't nerf the entire community by removing mid-combat markers like they did with TEA. I dunno, I felt like that mech was salt thrown that way.
Only recently found this content, but I’m absolutely loving it. I’m a casual solo FFXIV player, but this brings back memories of the raiding guild I was part of in WoW
You know, Rhaya's Ifrit dash is too relatable. I was in the back caster spot for Caloric 2, and it's during raid buffs. And as RDM, I used the gap-closer after moving back and completely fked our run on the last possible pull of the lockout.
I was the big sad the rest of the night.
I finished farming this fight with my static four months ago, but I still distinctly remember what a pain Athena was, especially in the first phase. I still enjoyed the fight a lot though!
All in all I feel like Pandaemonium was a pretty baller set of raids. Except Phoinix. We don't talk about Phoinix, we pretend it doesn't exist.
Looking forward to raiding in Dawntrail in a few months!
After struggling really badly with Abyssos, clearing it WAY late due to RL happenings and constantly replacing and subbing people, i was feeling good going into this tier with a stable static roster and a job switch to SGE.
Then there was issue, after issue, after issue, absence after absence, and our formerly cursed melee spot became a cursed tank spot. I raid with other groups so i was the one who kept asking favors to get subs.
Finally, my weekend static cleared this fight - weeks after I PUGGED a clear bc i was so frustrated with the slow progress. And even then, it was with two subs I called on last-minute.
My hope going forward is that the devs remember that raiding should be fun as well as challenging. The non-stop body checks in everything from an extreme to every five minutes of a savage fight are making things very unfun.
I'm proud of my own performance this tier, but overall it's been super frustrating.

The beginning was me out of town and my laptop can’t go higher than DVD quality for some reason. Still looking into fixes for it but we did our best to clean up the first 7 minutes as much as possible.

100% agree on caloric, as a blind static we also were so frustrated by the inconsistency of how stacks were accumulated that we just had to make a base level assumption and hope it was correct
