True, $46K is a lot of money. But think of it this way. I can only afford a GR86 for $30K, but will not think twice before spending 10% of the car's price to upgrade the I/H/E and wheels/tires. For someone who has $400K for an STO, I'm sure the SC cost just as reasonable.
That logic doesn't make sense. The the price of the car its going on, shouldnt effect the cost of the kit. There is no good reason this cost 6 times as much as a equal sized suercharger kit for a cheaper car. Still costs about the same to make. And the price should reflect that, plus expenses of a more limited production
@@04dram04 I wish that's how it worked, but unfortunately it's not.. Floor mats for a laferrari are like $1500. They don't cost 100 times more to make then ones from Walmart. 2 tone paint job on a Huayra is $200,000. Getting a manual transmission instead of an auto in a Zonda is $300,000. Even getting different color seatbelts will cost $500-1000. The cost of something has nothing to do with what it costs to make. It's all about what your customers are willing to pay.

@@04dram04 As the others said, what you are not factoring in, is there will be a lot more takers on kits for cheaper cars, bringing tooling costs per unit down, for cars like this, they would be selling a lot less kits, meaning the cost needs to be in the unit price. Not saying there isn't a fat margin there, but it isn't a like for like comparison.
I know this video is 5 months old now but for anyone seeking to buy the VF kit for your STO or other Huracan models here's the scoop. I had mine installed about 3 months ago at VF Engineering. It cost me a total of $56K for the SC kit, Ryft titanium exhaust, parts, labor, tax and install. If you just do the SC kit will run you about $48K. You could get a cheap turbo kit for less but you will end up having downtime fussing with repairs and having to have the car constantly re-tuned for AFR or timing issues according to most who have told me.
There actually was a case some years ago when the host almost hit a tree-stump that some idiot was pulling in a chain behind his pickup. I think the yeeehaa behaviour should be reserved for a private barn or a pigpen, if the idiot has such amenities, instead of public roads.

I have had my VF SC kit on my Performante for about 3 months now. Absolutely love it! No CEL, no overheating issues. All of my friends with their TT kits on their LP610-4 and LP580-2 have had issues repeatedly.
@@GoesSlow False! No heat soak on the VF kit. Turbos will always generate more heat in an engine bay than any blower, as the turbos are dependent on exhaust gases to spin the turbines. When I was getting my VF SC kit installed at VF's shop there was a 30K mile Evo LP640-4 getting a new belt put on it's SC kit. The original belt was still fine it was done as precautionary. Apparently the blower had 30K miles on it and was installed when the car was literally new. Not one issue! That's impressive.
VF has sold me that Supercharger is better in many applications. Is Nik going to be on the podcast again soon? Love hearing you guys get nerdy about dyno graph curves.
Looks like VF is still using a Eaton/Magnuson 2300 rotor pack and case from 2010, I bet their customers would enjoy the improvement an updated 2650 rotor pack and intercooler brick(s) would deliver.

The TT kits can get boost by gear, so you're even more likely to put the power down when compared to a SC. The SC kit is just too expensive for the power boost vs a TT kit.
i always wanted to see one of these superchargers with more boost, methanol, e85/race fuel etc. i always just see stock+ the blower. imagine like a syvecs/motec system. can probably make 750-800 with the right stuff. maybe even like an inner-chiller, or icebox etc.
Was the car on stock exhaust or was that VFE's race exhaust? I have an STO coming soon. I already put my deposit down with VFE. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE, keeps asking me why I didn't go with a TT setup and what you guys mentioned at the end is why. I don't want to change the character of the car completely. This is my favorite car because it has mclaren power in the huracan format. Turbos are great but they disturb the linear power band and sound. Most of your hard acceleration occurs in lower rpm’s the amount of road needed for a twin turbo huracan only exist in Florida. The sound is just amazing too

My supercharged Performante won't break down, it's windows won't get stuck, it will start even after not being ran for over a week off a battery tender and keeps going up in value. The 765LT is going down in value, has known issues with windshields cracking, CEL, batteries dying, fuel door locks breaking, coolant hoses popping off among other English gremlins LOL.

The sto was a brilliant move on Lamborghini’s part. The Perf was a great version of the huracan, but this was a hell of a way to finalize the platform. The looks are aggressive and crazy, performance is staggering compared to any other trim level and the customization list is exactly what people have wanted. Sheepy Race and Gintani have both built twin turbo versions of this that are mind numbingly fast (1500hp+).
Zach makes a great point: adding the supercharger the car is no longer naturally aspirated, which is one of (if not the #1) biggest reason to buy a Huracan over the competition. I would rather a 720S than this
It’s still an intercooler, it’s between the hot pressurized air and the engine. An intercooler would be pointless before the boost so they are all “aftercoolers”

This one has less of a burble tune that a stock car. And that windshield is scary thin! Do not ever go over 150MPH with windows down. It will shatter right out.
Of course it's worth it. Look at the cost of it new, then get it to 800hp for $46k? This will be one of the fastest cars ever on track or road. If you disagree, your clueless. The original is 640hp and is one of the fastest round a track, this will beat everything almost.

VF has a map for E40 which runs more timing on this kit bumps it up to around 680-700awhp roughly. Just over 850hp at crank.

6k installation seems pretty reasonable.
Payed that in pure labor putting a turbo kit on a Miata including clutch,flywheel and tuning labor.

All boosted cars are technically aftercooled unless it's got dual inline compressors. So same difference with intercooler and aftercoolers.

A 720S isn't naturally aspirated either and with it you have to deal with turbo lag, something you won't get with a super charger
Boost a V10 and leave the V12's NA. Best way to roll in any Lambo.
