Seriosuly guys, believe it or not I have played this game for like 100+ times on my PC.. PC that was published by Ubisoft back in 2007. And I must admit this was and until now my favorite RE game.
The houses in the village could use a lick of paint to make the place a bit more cheerful. Thanks for posting your speed run: I enjoyed playing RE4 when it was released even though I rarely play games and it is fun to revisit the world every now and then.
It's funny how people keep asking about saving the dog and other stuff that would slow you down xD People, the goal of a speedrun is completing the game as fast as possible. Saving the dog and other stuff is a waste of time in a speedrun.
+Zenrikku77 In a speedrun the player usually defeats the bosses as quickly as possible (aka using a rocket launcher :P). No need for the dog to be saved.
There is a bug in the battle with the two El Gigantes (after the Verdugo) which is like this: When the El Gigantes appear, do the Ditman glitch and go up the ladder, down the zipline, Leon will bug a bit but no problem, when he arrives, Leon will get stuck a bit, and the Ditman glitch will remain activated, when If you get it when you get to the top it will be about 2 seconds for the zipline to arrive, get off at the zipline without it having arrived yet and when you get there Down you will go down more than enough and will cross the wall, from there just go to the door leading to the goal, because you can go back to the map at any time.
Fantastic speedrun! It is unfortunate that all of these various versions have different load times though...makes comparing who actually has the best time a very difficult thing to do.
ähm no it depens on the catgory. Evry game has different categorie for example with gliches or withzout glichtes. this is a new game plus infinit muni round. as long as he stats what he is using in the speedrun ist a legitiment speedrun with conditions
I'm practicing this game a lot lately. I'm training to speedrun this game too. I wanna run in the category New Game Pro glitchless. I never see anyone run glitchless, most people seem to run New Game+ any%. I think new game pro glitchless is where its at personally. It'd be nice if anyone out there ran this category so I could watch some videos and get it routed. I watched JTB's walkthrough of New Game Pro any% I guess that's the closest I can get for now. I'd also like to run a new category I don't think anyone has done which is new game pro glitchless no rocket launchers. This forces you to fight every boss and takes away the option to just 1 shot them all with rl's. It'd be cool to see you and other top players attempt such a run. Anyway I'm glad you're out of retirement. Hopefully we'll see you back at AGDQ in the near future.

Are you losing time when selecting on which file you want to save ? I think in the original version you had to save asap in order to save seconds. Around 1:21:50 you could have save some time if I'm correct

Hudesko I kinda agree with you, when I was playing RE4, I had to learn the ropes by myself and yes I know the aim was a bit hard, but I was 6 at the time and scared shitless at every miniboss that cameafter me, especial el salvador. ( the chainsaw dude.) But now im good at RE4 and other games that don't lock on, and im glad I played RE4 . (P.S: I played the ps2 version.)

This is a pretty damn good time, but at the same time, I believe you'd be able to shave off some time here and there if you ditmanned instead of merely walking. 4:12 if you ditmanned you could've sprinted right past all of them, vault over that bit faster, as well as draw your knife and break the window quicker. Once you get to the dynamite tossers you'd have to trigger the pitchfork user to swing at you, bottom line just waiting a mere second at it before you vaulted so your I-frames could save you. Then just sprinted down that whole thing a bit faster, could've saved you half of the time you did take... Either way, most of the stuff you could've done might've only saved you.. Two-three minutes? But just my suggestion. Really damn good run for this, I'd give you a medal if I had it.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupidly overpowered the PRL is in the american version of the game XD in the european version (which i own) it only shoots one beam and you have to manually aim it. +EternalSangsue , just to clear some stuff up TAS means tool assisted speedrun, and therefore it uses mode and is in another class of runs but he used glitches named in the description, and did it without tools only glitches, and the glitches is legit. Dont mean to be messed up or ganking on one to be prefered, but the runs legit so I hope this cleared somethings up . :)

That does not make any difference if you hold a grenade or weapon. It's called a ditman glitch and you need a striker.

I was getting the attention of two zealots in 4-4. For the rest, I was lowering my accuracy for difficulty adjustment purposes.

What about around 17:30? Why do you get hit by all these enemies instead of just shooting them with the chicago typewriter? You sort of have to wait anyway on the way down, so why waste time getting hit and having to heal? Please elaborate.

This is a pretty damn good time, but at the same time, I believe you'd be able to shave off some time here and there if you ditmanned instead of merely walking. 4:12 if you ditmanned you could've sprinted right past all of them, vault over that bit faster, as well as draw your knife and break the window quicker. Once you get to the dynamite tossers you'd have to trigger the pitchfork user to swing at you, bottom line just waiting a mere second at it before you vaulted so your I-frames could save you. Then just sprinted down that whole thing a bit faster, could've saved you half of the time you did take... Either way, most of the stuff you could've done might've only saved you.. Two-three minutes? But just my suggestion. Really damn good run for this, I'd give you a medal if I had it.

It never ceases to amaze me how stupidly overpowered the PRL is in the american version of the game XD in the european version (which i own) it only shoots one beam and you have to manually aim it.
Also, the boss fights during speedruns are so funny... big bad monsters gettin wrecked in mere seconds by a ''Pardon me no fucks given'' version of Leon XD

Se você estiver jogando muito ruim, o jogo pega mais leve nos danos de inimigos, o tanto de inimigos pra você enfrentar, mais munições e etc. Mas se você estiver jogando bem, ele aumenta o dano dos inimigos, estes também tem dão mais dano e tambem pouca munição e assim vai

+EternalSangsue , just to clear some stuff up TAS means tool assisted speedrun, and therefore it uses mode and is in another class of runs but he used glitches named in the description, and did it without tools only glitches, and the glitches is legit. Dont mean to be messed up or ganking on one to be prefered, but the runs legit so I hope this cleared somethings up . :)
