This is one of my favorite Elvis's songs. He was called the king of Rockand Roll for a reason. John Lennon of the Beatles once said - Before Elvis thier was nothing in terms of Rock and Roll.
He was 22 when this was made. He actually choreographed the dance routine itself (this clip is from the film of the same name). In the uk it was the 1st ever single to go directly to the No 1 position. Classic rock n roll song. 64 years old, hard to believe, but it still makes you smile!
Newsflash bro you're having a bad day this song will bring peace to you bro long live the king 1975 I first heard Elvis then 1979 i got my first album Blue Hawaii since then been a fan of Elvis 54 yrs old now
The most famous hit of the king of rock 'n' roll in an unrivaled gorgeous, phenomenal performance by Diana Ankudinova ( 18 y.o.) Can’t Help Falling in Love (Elvis Presley / DARK VERSION cover) Please react to Diana Ankudinova ! She is called the queen of goosebumps, a unique voice - contralto with polyphonic overtones. She has insane and unique vocals and great stage presence and her performances (from the show You are Super ! ( win twice ) are gorgeously choreographed and you should find them very interesting. Top song choices are up Wicked Game, Derniere Danse, Blizzard, Human, River. She is really an amazing young artist!
Empress beautiful! Elvis was a true original, until then, no one ever witnessed anything like this. He shocked the world for three decades and he is still giving us goosebumps today... realdeal
As soon as I saw the notice for Empress reacting to Jail House Rock, I thought, "Oh, this is gonna be fun!" ;-D Also, a "jailbird" is slang for a person who is or has been in prison, especially a criminal who has been jailed repeatedly.

You have to understand that back in the 50's and early 60's moving your hips like that was considered indecent, and deeply frowned upon. When Elvis performed on the Ed Sullivan Show, a weekly live entertainment show, the censors would only allow the cameras to show him from above the waist. Elvis was considered a 'bad influence' on the youth of the day, not only for the way he moved, but also for performing what was considered 'evil music, a tool of the devil'.
I loved your reaction to young Elvis! And you're so right about him being ahead of his time. He was influenced by many different genres of music as a child and brought genres together to create interpretations of songs that had never been heard before. I noticed the racist rumor being repeated by one of your viewers. The fact is that, during the time of segregation, Elvis did so much both publicly and privately to bring the races together. I know you've seen him perform "In the Ghetto" and "If I Can Dream". Would a racist record these songs against the advice of his manager and recording studio? He was willing to put his career in jeopardy to put this message of reconciliation out into the world. As you go forward on your Elvis journey, I hope you'll put the racist rumor aside and keep in mind that black people who knew Elvis personally (both famous and not) spoke very highly of him.
As fun as the music Elvis performed and performed well was, it has a lot of hard truths connected to it as well. The United States at that time had it's very own form of apartheid via Jim Crow laws. Using Elvis, the music industry could finally start selling black music and dance. Don't get me wrong, this very much helped us progress closer to equality. Plus, he helped prove men could move their hips without summoning the devil. We will never fully know or understand the whole history of rock and roll due to many of the record keepers were biased in their beliefs. Peace/JT
Since you raised your hand in the air, I'm presume that you liked what you just reacted to. Elvis was THE phenomenon of the 195o's. And since you liked Elvis when he was young and beautiful (didn't we all) you might like these recommendations too. HOUND DOG from the Milton Berle Show. TRYIN' TO GET TO YOU and ONE NIGHT WITH YOU from the '68 Comeback Special. And TROUBLE from his movie, King Creole or the opening number of the '68 Special. My Mother was a fan of Elvis. They even had the same birthday. As a young black girl in the 5o's, she swooned to his records and movies like millions of girls. My Mother thought he was purdy. She would stop cleaning the house whenever she hear him singing on the radio. By the smile on your face, he makes you happy too. Enjoy.
Ok little story, jail bird ? A man named Richard Stroud, was doing life in prison! One day a bird, flew into his cell , through the bars from the outside! It was injured, so he spent weeks nursing the bird back to heath, by reading every book he could get his hands on about birds, then he started feeding outher birds who could fly freely between the bars into his cell from the court yard and back to freedom, thay revisited every day, from his cell to freedom, he was known as the bird man of Alcatraz, the name of the prison, said that hundreds of birds visited, some sick and injured he nursed back to health! So if their is someone who temporarily locked up for a minor crime for a short time! Like elvis was once! And will be free soon, the inmates would call them JAIL BIRDS! sorry to put you through that! America is a crazy place sometimes!!!!!!!🇺🇸🗽🇺🇸🤣
I love your posts and how you appreciate the greatest entertainer ever, no one ever taught him how to dance or sing the music was in his body his body and Elvis moved to the music , thanks again, and keep up the Elvis videos. We love them.❤

The title of the song should explain it Empress. Jailhouse Rock. Some of the lyrics. Number 47 said to number 3 you're the cutest jailbird I ever did see. It's supposed to be a male jailbird flirting with a female jailbird. His 3rd movie of 34 movies in all.
This is the side of Elvis that made him popular....Elvis had 2 nick names one was The King the other one was Elvis The Pelvis....After watching this video you can see why theu called him Elvis The Pelvis
Birds that are pets are usually in cages and spend their time looking through the bars dreaming of their freedom. That's what prisoners do. I guess that's what the term jailbird comes from. No granted I didn't Google it I'm just guessing.
This is actually a piece of the movie with the same name. I had heard that they now consider this the first music video but I would think there are many other earlier videos that could be considered as the first music video.
You’d love listening to Elvis - “a little less conversation” it’s the first one that pops up when you search for it on UA-cam Empress! Stay safe always and enjoy!
You are so damn hot it's almost impossible to pay attention to the video but yeah it is fascinating to see him as a Young Man. And he didn't like the choreography that they were doing for the 1950s so he did his own. I wish there were more footage of him at that age but they often would not film him on television below the waist because they thought his dance moves were too suggestive. The guy was a talent all the way. This was before he went in the army and I think hound dog is another one from this era but in terms of just audio music there's a bunch of them. You can see his vocal Talent on display even then
Oh yeah, and some of his early stuff you can see him do the first version of a moonwalk except that he did it sideways which is even more difficult than what Michael Jackson was doing. And he also I think maybe in hound dog does this move where he box around and swivels his hips and then it goes into this locked pose, and he's up on his toes. But he's using his core strength to just hold himself there and it really is pretty amazing. Nobody had seen anything like that. To meet Fair there was a lot of athleticism going on but normally you would see that in terms of tap dancing and things like that
Elvis has been referred to as the "King" since the beginning. Richard is a great and important figure in rock history but the debate about who is or isn't "king" has been over since at least '56. History has spoken. FYI, Elvis recorded "That's All Right" in July '54. Little Richard didn't record "Tutti Frutti" until September '55. In fact, Elvis had recorded all but one of his transformational Sun Records tunes before Richards recorded "Tutti." The following are all quotes about Elvis by Little Richard: "Elvis was God-given, there's no other explanation. A Messiah comes around every few thousand years, and Elvis was it this time." "He was an integrator, Elvis was a blessing. They wouldn't let black music through. He opened the door for black music." “I thank God for Elvis Presley. I thank the Lord for sending Elvis to open that door so I could walk down the road, you understand?”
"Elvis may be the King of Rock and Roll, but I am the Queen."
This is one of my favorite Elvis's songs. He was called the king of Rockand Roll for a reason. John Lennon of the Beatles once said - Before Elvis thier was nothing in terms of Rock and Roll.
