I’m trying to understand the physio behind why chorioamnionitis is a risk factor for an abruption. I was first confused as to why PPROM could cause this but after googling it, I found out it’s related to chorio. I understand that chorio prevents the uterus from contracting adequately, but how does it cause a placental abruption?
Is the mechanism similar to polyhydramnios?
Another question if you get a chance, I read somewhere that during major hemorrhage, BP is poor indicator of fluid volume status and urine output was better. Is this information important for testing?
Thank you for the help, I really enjoy the videos.
