The only thing that's bothering me about this video is when the picture of the Eye of Horus pops up when they sing "By the power of Ra"
Since both have an eye symbol, it's easy for someone who doesn't do much research into egyptian mythology to know there's a difference between the meanings of the right and left eye symbols. A quick Google search will tell you that, but if you dont know to look for it, you could just search up "egyptian eye symbol" instead of "eye of ra" specifically. Until I actually started researching, I didn't even know about the eye of Horus. I just knew about the eye of Ra.
But yes, I find it annoying as well.

As a german I am always deeply uncomfortable with the fanart of Germany with patriotic/nazi symbols... the artists most likely don't think too much of it, and I guess (hope) they are not from Germany, but this would technically be illegal here... sure, it's an anime about nation stereotypes and history is a part of it, but there is a line of what is still acceptable somewhere...
I don't think any artist from anywhere would use the nazi symbol that lightly. It hit the whole world hard. It is understandable that you would feel that way, though.
Vivilon Rane Well the countries are effected by the beliefs and leaders, so Germany would therefore adopt those without a chance to fight against them, unless there were large enough groups of Germans who disagreed. They don't really have a choice, which is a shame. But even then this is an anime about stereotypes, history and the like, of which the Nazi Germany regime was a big part of. I don't think the fanartists mean anything by it, but are just taking what they've seen on the show, know about history and matching them up.
Vivilon Rane I mean, the anime doesn't talk about Nazism or really anything on the lines of that. Germany doesn't wear swastikas or even a S.S symbol. I'm American and understand that horror behind the symbol but also understands that the history behind it is important. I believe that it is just a real image of Germany during the time, something that the anime doesnt show.

I understand your discomfort about it. I myself may not be from Germany, but over half of my heritage comes from Germany, and I have intent of seeing the country of my heritage eventually. From my experience with artists of fanart like that, they are doing it because its historically accurate, not to romanticize the actions of Nazi Germany. Some people are undoubtedly like that, but from those I've met and talked with, it's for the historically accurate representation.

As the first three characters showed across the screen I started to say "It's Not the Axis!!!" Then the Axis showed up the Axis and Allies! I thought it was just the Axis by the title. Oh well XD

Arrrrgh, there's just something about this song, I can't put my finger on it, that just highlights the power each of them has and the dark conflict between each of, not necessarily full frontal violence but quiet, smouldering hatred waiting to be released. Especially when it says "BOW DOWN."

I like the video, but I'm not a huge fan of randomly sticking in characters because you like them. I adore Norway, but I write largely historical fics, and if he is not historically in whatever I'm writing about, I won't include him. I suppose you can justify Greece because he was invaded by Italy and then Germany, and there was a large North African campaign, so Egypt, but Turkey...not so much. And none of them were part of either the Axis or the Allies...
But other that that, I like this. It's a neat concept.

If you want to be technical, Norway WAS involved, in that Germany occupied Norway from April 8/9 of 1940, with some resistance until June 10 of 1940 when the invasion was a success. Germany controlled Norway until its forces capitulated on May 8/9 of 1945.

At first, I thought the involvement of Greece/Egypt/Turkey was truly random. But then I remembered that the Ottoman Empire was the former superpower before the World Wars, and it suddenly felt as though it wasn't just the Allies challenging the Axis with song, it was both Axis AND Allied countries challenging the Ottoman Empire, the 'sick man of Europe', all of them fighting for the hegemony of the world. And it was EPIC.
