With the FOB creation circle being 150m and audio heard at 50m, the meta is going to be walking 100m away from the HAB/50m away from the edge of the circle, and doing one loop around. It’ll be quick to find the radio that way, like less than a minute.
I almost got a heart attack when reading usmc patch notes, I thought they gonna take away my beloved humvees and mk 153 until I realized its only for one group not entire faction😂
Getting a lot better on handling a rifle I see. As an avid gun enthusiast, I've shot most of the guns we play with in Squad, and a lot of them IRL barely have any recoil at all. I get why they do it, they want your avatar to react as if it is under pressure... but this isn't really the way.

Really nice update, I like the promised changes overall, the slightly tweaked ICO recoil looks much nicer. I like ICO a lot but some guns just felt very bad at times, especially LMGs and ESPECIALLY pistols.

I have made 3 tickets to OWI over the past year about Logar Valley Seed being broken with the northern team being bale to access the southern teams hab, a simple missing "warning barrier". I had it acknowledged by two separate devs and it still hasent been fixed even after 4 updates since then.
idk games such as Tarkov almost only use camera shake to make their recoil. It feels heavy but at least you get to have more control over your weapons unlike with random heavy recoil.
would be cool if the tanks were less arcady and actually had the ammo in the places the irl tank has them + blowout panels. The Leo has the ammo in the front next to the driver and a ready rack at the back of the turret.
The amount of recoil on 5.56 and 5.45 guns in this game is so absurd it makes me wonder if any of the devs ever shot one irl. Also time to ads on them is absurd. Like cmon m4 weights 6 pounds.
Exactly so many times it happened that an enemy shoots at me fully auto from 5.56 or 5.45 and they miss every single shot from a close distance, and i know for a fact its due to recoil and not because they suck. It happened to me as well, its absurd, glad they changed it
this is all great, but my biggest problems with scopes is preformance. Especially on maps like goose bay, Harju and Fallujah scopes are a detrement cause my game slows down to 10-20 FPS per second when looking down them. So I ussually just tend to go for CQB dots or iron sights on those maps even though my PC is absolutely far above the mininum spec. I even have my stuff put to where it should prioritize performance over pretiness but even then its my biggest issue with scopes in this game.
The minimum specs don't matter. The recommended specs are the minimum to actually play. Also, you can tweak the PIP render to have more performance, its just going to look bad when you look through it.
I want to know if there is any ADS speed difference to ARs when compared to iron sight and scoped kind. I really want to they make Iron sight faster and powerful.
i'd like some changes to the SVD on the irregular militia. currently is inusable and doesnt have any advantage over the enemy's standard rifle. the lack of bipod, x4 scope and not being a 1 shot to the chest makes it terrible.
Placebo effect. When there are less than 60 fps, things look choppy and that changes how you perceive weapon performance, regardless of if there's any actual difference or not.
From the visuals it looks like they are doing a good job finding a sweet spot between the ICO and original weapon handling. The ICO saves the game from being taken over by brainless twitch shooter players (thank you OWI). However the insane weapon sway is very frustrating even when moving tactically so I'm glad they're reworking it a bit. Fingers crossed that we land in a place that makes the game as fun as possible while still punishing no-brain run and gun players.

@notme7486 The reason you take the M27 kit is because it's exactly like a rifleman except you get 13 mags instead of 7 and no ammo bag. It's different to an M16, because it fires full auto, has a bipod, better irons with the iron sight equipped ones, better recoil and accuracy overall, and a slower firerate.
I mean if most people want to play as US Army (and USMC almost as often) then… that’s what people want. There are a few servers that don’t do voting though. I agree voting has sort of killed the factions.

Havent played squad since the massive change of guns. PiP scopes are awesome, but suppression and shitty recoils was just to much to be enjoyable. Cant believe its that long that i havent played one of my favourite games.

Is it just me or do the Rifles, the bread and butter gun that the vast majority of players are using every round, look exactly the same? Whats the point of trying to finally fix the noodle arms and then not make significant changes? 5:49
Will the rate of fire of the AS VAL be changed? Or will it remain 650 rounds per minute in the game files, and not 900 as it should be? The recoil also needs to be reduced for this assault rifle. Give a bunch of cool grenadier kits for the Americans, but still not make it possible for the VDV to walk around with a loaded grenade launcher? Will the optical sight on the AK-101 still work incorrectly for PMCs? Incorrectly sighted in reticle. Add Mosin rifles to the insurgents to counter the new PMC? Seriously? Bad small arms, bad tanks, bad IPV's, bad APC, no deployable ATGMs, now this is one of the worst factions in the game. How fun it was to play them before. We need to add TNT blocks to the some insurgent kits. And some powerful technics for the mechanized brigade. For example ZSU-23-4 Shilka.
FINALLY. They shouldve reworked ico ages ago, better late than never i guess. Hopefully they learned their lesson. Hopefully theyll do more to fix imfantry at and tows. Glad gunplay isnt something to be coped through (hopefully we'll see how it plays) to get to teamwork.

I got Squad about this time last year and when reading the patch notes more often than not I keep saying to myself: Why did they implement this now? This is a game that's almost 10 years old. This game still has a lot of potential, I hope they can keep delivering updates like this or even better
People don’t just replace games with sequels anymore like they used to as a rule. If they can update squad to UE5, why make a new game entirely? It’s just a waste of resources

MEA kit updates feel significant to me. I LOVE the G3 but I think the new kits will make them more versatile as a faction.

That’s a great question, I think it’ll be relative. Iron sights is faster, scope a bit slower.

The game needs to update the 1p29, it feels so dificult to walk some meters, stop and shoot, took almost 3 seconds to stabilize
i swear the fps difference in weapon performance is still in affect. the ones where it says current, they look way more accurate in almost all ways😞
