  • The coolest thing I have done on my channel thus far is this comparison between these two different methods of making sea moss gel. Theres 3 main ways of making sea moss Gel and I always wondered which was the best way. I really enjoyed the whole process it was fun easy and straight forward took a few hours from start to finish for both methods.
Thoroughly wash your sea moss rinsing severals times until the water runs clear. Drain well before adding spring water lemon and lime chunks and leave to soak for 2/4 hour depending on the type of sea moss. The Caribbean sun sea moss only needs 2 hours soaking time. Remove quarters and rinse once more.
Separate sea moss, half for simmering and the other half to be blended raw. Cover the simmering half with spring water and heat up on the hob at high heat. Once it starts bubbling reduce heat gradually and leave to simmer for 15 minutes at low heat with the lid on.
Dr. Sebi once said "God made sea moss and it does everything". Of the 102 trace minerals found in the human body sea moss has 92 making it a very nutrient dense/rich super food like no other.
The health benefits of using sea moss are vast so here are my top 10 health benefits
    1. Helps the body get rid of mucus
    2. Boost immune system
    3. Promotes proper thyroid function
    4. Reduces inflammation
    5. Promotes good digestion
    6. Improves metabolism
    7. Helps maintain healthy weight
    8. Supports hair, skin & nails
    9. A great post workout tonic
    10. Improves libido
As with anything there's several different ways of preparing sea moss and this video shows you just two of them
    - Please let me know has this worked for you?
    - What effect did it have on you, did you notice any changes? Kindly share your experience with these sea moss gel preparation methods.

I’m glad your explain this because I’m an American and boiling means your boiling the nutrients out in our heads, ok mine. So when I first started this, I was so confused I saw all the Jamaicans boiling it. I was like am I poisoning myself? So to see this at the last minute 👀 for some reason, it’s still good information.

what should I do if I still need the water from the seamoss? like when it boils you're left with a lot of water you can use for something else. but when you soak it are you still left with a lot of water? because that is basically what I need. I kind of wanted to go with the non boiling route to save as many nutrients? not sure if the heat disrupts the nutrients or not

I buy lots of seamoss from different vendors. However this last batch I received looked more like fiber..sort of straw like. After following their instructions to a T.... the washing, limes, the soaking etc.. (I used alkaline water to soak it..) when the seamoss was finished blending.. (I used my Ninja blender 3 minutes)it came out very white almost the color of cooked grits. I refrigerated it but it never really gelled up. I contacted the seller n they emailed me back saying they washed their seamoss so customers don’t have to. It was the cleanest but looked very different. I was wondering why it didn’t gel. Is it possible that it isn’t the real deal? It looks too white for me. I’m using it in shakes.

I am sorry to read you haven't had a great experience. I am in no way suggesting that your sea moss is not the real deal from your description it sounds as tho you got the farmed version of sea moss or something synthetic.
It sounds as though you followed all the right steps yet it's not gelling up which is highly irregular. I will do a comparison video on sea moss in the next few days so you know what to look for in future.

We are talking about minerals, not vitamins. A lot of people confuse the 2. The minerals aren’t much by heat(I’m assuming you’re using low to moderate heat). Maybe 10% loss. I’m also guessing you’ll still use the same water you boiled it in for blending. I find preheating it makes it a bit easier to blend to a really smooth texture especially if you don’t have a powerful blender.

Definately nice video for those who desire to heat foods where heat may make seamoss break down further making it smooth easier to contend with or aka the way we prefer it but i dont get it,,,if heat steam gets to the natural products full of enzymes vitamins nutrients etc then why kill it? Which is what happening in the heating steaming or boiling heating period to the point,,yes it might make it easier,,making many like it better this way,,storage might be even longer once steamed boiled or cooked because killing its properties during the heating does just that killz it,,,sso it last longer perhaps because nothing left to die when its dead already,,,jus my take,,,i do know live foods or uncooked full of enzymes nutrients its natural properties for the body means live bodies,,cooked pasturized heated which is what we buy from grocery stores designed for shelf life designed for taste very little benefit for our bodies means dead of deprived bodies means sickness disease etc facts...besides a form of fiber because thats all thats left after heating cooking, the actual fiber of whats consumed,,,,but if thats how you like it then go for it but i do know what im saying is fact,,perhaps some nutrients are still active and alive perhaps but thats a BIG perhaps,,i cant see how though longer its heated the more its killed,,i do know heating boiling etc will make seamoss smooth as silk creamy as all get out but for what benefit for the body i havent a clue???,,Thanks for the video

Craig very valid points you raised. I agree it is best to have it with as little preparation steps besides blending it. That is how I have it. I also believe in this realm energy cannot be destroyed it only changes form. As vibrational beings the food we assimilate best is that which vibrates at the same frequency as us. Sea moss being one of those. You will reap benefits from both however I prefer the raw blend method which also introduces heat.
