Dear Robert, thanks for the playlist. I really like the sound of the rubber bridge. I wait for your solution to adapt a normal guitar and thus be able to feel the effect live. As for Madison Cunningham, I agree with you: a great great artist, a hope for the future of the music I love. Ciao 👍👍👍👍👍

Using flat wound strings was a revelation to me but I’d not heard of the rubber bridge, must give it a try. Nick Drake had super dead strings too 👍

True about Nick Drake. I was just listening to Pink Moon the other day and wondering how old his strings were while recording that album. LOL Thanks for watching, Emil.

I play a nylon string guitar grunge style. I wonder what a rubber bridge on a nylon string guitar would sound like?

I’m fairly certain I read that Agustin Barrios Mangore used metal strings and a rubber bridge saddle on classical guitar, but can’t be sure the source was reliable. But nylon strings and a rubber bridge? Only one way to find out.

I've been playing for 30 years and have always liked deader-sounding acoustic guitars; to the point that I wouldn't change strings on some of mine for years. There's been a particular sound in my head for decades and I finally heard it when I saw Madison Cunningham playing a rubber-bridge guitar. That got me started down this rabbit hole and led me here. Now I think I'm going to convert one of my acoustics that's been just sitting around.
While I'm here I will note that Madison is a freak of nature in the best way possible. Her songwriting is brilliant, her voice mesmerizing and her playing impeccable. Listening to her leaves me feeling beguiled and useless all at once. She's so good it's unbelievable.

Rubber bridges have been on my radar for a little while. I've always chosen my acoustic guitars for maximum sustain. But I bought an open back banjo from OME in Boulder when I moved there in '06 and fell in love with the plunky, dead sound.
I'm looking forward to your parts list because I have 2 candidates for consideration. A new Yamaha parlor guitar & my older Guild T-50 Slim. I'm curious to see if the Yamaha has an undersaddle pickup, because replacing the saddle with rubber might defeat the pickup. Hmmm.
