Well, in principle. People can survive a lobotomy (which is exactly what happened to the girl). And in most cases they remain incapable of doing anything. But there are examples similar to this girl who have lived a peaceful life. Like Phineas P. Gage. I think many people know this story and it has probably been mentioned here, but I will explain. He was a railroad builder. Or rather, he was the foreman of the blasting crew. He used a crowbar to compact the explosive charge in a blasting operation. And he looked in to see if the plug was compacted or not. And that's when the crowbar he was using to seal the plug gave off a spark and there was an explosion. The crowbar went under his left eye socket and went all the way through. He lost most of the frontal lobe of the left hemisphere of his brain. However, he woke up a few minutes later. Two months later he was cured. He lived a normal life for another 12 years.
I don't know if Steven reacted to this, but he didn't then I would recommend him watching The Hottest Dog animations and his 2 movies: Special Strike and Special Strike Rebellion. They are not made according to the lore but his own is interesting and would like to see the reaction if not yet done
There is a series called Vanessa into madness by nightcove the fox. There is 6 episodes each roughly half an hour long. It’s another series you could watch with a full on story like this video. There is a couple of copyrighted songs in a couple of the episodes but you could probably cut those parts out or mute that portion of the video and replace it with other music while those parts are happening.
