It shows she's humble and grounded as she's stayed in the same place for ages for her kids to grow up in. A lot of these celebrities move a lot because they always want something bigger and fancier as they move up the wealth ladder. It's more an observation than anything.
I agree. I always see houses as if they were designed to be for a magazine always pristine and tidy but hilarys had the homey feel with the imperfections and how long theyve lived in it.

Maybe normal people want change, maybe their lease expired, maybe they got married or a new job. The rich move houses because a house is a luxury, a status symbol. It's more of an observation than us being judgey. Most of the houses on here seem like nobody lives there and are more like a museum, so it was a nice surprise to see Hilary's house which she admits is kinda messy and seeing her kids act like actual kids. She seems like she's being herself and not playing some character. Most of the celebs on these interviews seem like they are playing a caricature of themselves, afraid to miss their lines and afraid to break character. Celebs are generally so used to playing a character that they forget how to be a relatable person, break character and break the 4th wall. People are creatures of habit, so it makes sense. Also, if these celebs didn't want people talking about them and their lifestyle, they wouldn't film these house tours. Why are you getting so upset over this discussion anyway? We are saying we like Hilary because she is so unproblematic and real.

She is just such a chill person. I love that she acknowledged that her house doesn't look that nice all the time and that stuff has scratches/cuts/discolorations/cracks in them since they actually use them.
8 years she's been here..this is home for her. Everyone else I saw has been in their home for a few months and everything is neutral. She's not afraid of color or coffee spots on a dresser or whatever. Love it.
And there's no awards, posters of herself and photos of music albums on the walls it's all her family. Not saying showing off your achievements is a bad thing but I just like the fact that instead of showing off one of her photo of a music album or something she's showing off pictures of her family and other people's art.

I always felt so, too, but to hear her publicly admit to murder(& further note the “killing” of another living thing) sort of made my teenage self feel some type of way. ..&I heard she eats the babies of many of the pets she keeps cooped up, too.
I feel she takes her celebrity status as a separate part of her life. She works in movies/shows and then goes home and that's her real project. Her chickens, keeping the plants alive, raising her kids, learn guitar. I wish all famous hollywood people would be like this. It would be a far less toxic industry.

Hillary Duff’s house is exactly what you’d expect from her. Chic but playful and it seems she indulges her children not with tons of crazy gadgets but with things that require imagination. She defo has a celebrity’s home but it’s not tacky nor does it feel like a 5* resort. It’s very homely & her kids are incredibly lucky and I’m not talking about from a materialistic stand point.

This was so refreshing. Nothing is overly grand, like some celebrity homes that makes it feel like a “don’t touch or sit” museum. You can tell that this house is their HOME, and it looks like such a comfortable and tasteful environment. Her mid-century modern touch really adds to that. This is exactly the kind of house I imagined she'd have. It's beautiful but practical, not over the top, not sterile, so much love evident throughout. And she has a beautiful attitude too, e.g. kids drawing on table with Sharpie, lots of TV time, reality that the house is usually a mess. This was one of my favourite AD celebrity home tours.

Love how real her life is, especially the interactions with her son who does not say hello, but Momma bear understands and goes with the flow.
This is exactly the kind of house I imagined she'd have. It's beautiful but practical, not over the top, not sterile, so much love evident throughout. And she has a beautiful attitude too, e.g. kids drawing on table with Sharpie, lots of TV time, reality that the house is usually a mess. This was one of my favourite AD celebrity home tours.
