Angel successfully became and Ranger and completed deployments to both Iraq and Afghanistan.
After leaving the military Angel attends school full time with the goal of becoming a registered dietician, as well as creating and hosting military veteran based events.

Right on ranger shout out from oc u make us proud
I am so happy he is getting the recognition he needed. Was following him for an year now and was wondering why is he not on a lot of podcast. And if I ever get to live in America I will name my son AJ too.
This guy is the definition of "Your life is what you make it"
Mad respect Angel
Mental health is so important mate. Great job Andy
I’m 60 and have just started reconnecting with “Brothers” I haven’t seen in 20 years. It’s cathartic.
Roger that, same here!
Samuel Weatherford It’s good hey Samuel :).
@@cypresshill8329 Roger that Brother, cheers!
I was in 3/75 at Benning. I can confirm its awful being that close to Headquarters.
Damn it mike ritland and Andy dropped this within minutes
thank you Andy you may not know it but you have helped me so much just from talking openly much love
Same here brother, grew up as a life long Alaskan. We look at those who show weakness as little bitches but this podcast has changed my mind completely
I'm at 1:19:18 What an interesting conversation. The thing I love about your podcast Andy, is that you really get what this is all about. Just genuine conversation following it wherever it goes with some regard for the audience, but mostly following your own interest and being raw. Angel seemed to get that and was very open himself, which I appreciate.
This is the kind of conversation that people can value irrespective of their personal interest in the subject matter, but solely because of the interest we have in genuine human conversations.
Keep it up, and thanks to Angel.
Just finished it. The PTSD talk was interesting.
Thank you, Im thankful to have the chance to listen too/meet Angel Cortes. Thank you so much
He was dead serious... "I want to compete but i don't want to kill these people." Dude i would not want to be in the ring with this guy ha ha! Good stuff
I think that’s everyone who knows shit mentality.
Angel and Andy thank you. I have been in a rut for these past months and this conversation was the first time I’ve felt legitimately motivated in forever
This dude will succeed at anything he decides to do.
This was one of the best interviews of this podcast IMO. Great job Andy and Angel.
This dude is so interesting on multiple levels.
Just re-listened to this episode. One of my favorites. Well done Andy! Truly inspirational. Angel is the "American story" and Andy, your comments about your son are rough to hear about. I hope you have worked them out. But if not, --hopefully you never stop trying for both of your sakes.
Andy - Great podcast man. I really like the support.....man to man....you gave Angel.....I can tell it had an impact and settled some internal struggle.
Keep up the good work.
This was an incredible podcast. Angel is the most humble open person. His answer is that he is there to help others through his vulnerability, without bring like a simp. Loved this podcast!!!!
Heroes interrupt dysfunctional processes & legacies. They also provide safety for others at their own risk of peril. #hero #salute 🇺🇸
Awesome podcast! Hope you have Angel back on down the road!
I almost turned this off half way through, but the last 30 minutes of this are the TRUTH. Thank you both!!!
Thank you for having angel on podcast awsome dude
Love this kind of interview! It's good to hear from youngsters from time to time. Well done
Awesome interview! Two great American warriors! Thank You brothers!!!
Legendary bloke!
Omg!!! He has been thru it all!!!!! So good!❤
Awesome Episode Awesome American… Good people do bad things sometimes but it’s up to that person to learn and pick the right path in life. Glad to hear he succeed and for also making this world a better place. Thank you.
I love the short summary you give on the person at the beginning of videos
Respect. Thank you for your service. Downey California
Freaking great podcast. Andy's podcasts are in my top 3 for sure, but they're challenging for #1. 👍
Andy Stumpf looks like Colby Covington in here.
Big respect to both these guys and everyone making an effort
Try reading Trapped in the Mirror (Adult Children of Narcissists in the Struggle for Self) by Elan Golomb. If you have a similar childhood as Angel it might help. It is helping me.
Another dope guest!
What kind of MPG's are you getting with that limo?
"Probably not worse than a truck"
Haha best quote of the podcast.
Awesome interview as always Andy
Great podcast Andy!
Great conversation 👌

How dare you 😂😂😂
never seen someone recover from choking so quickly
I didn’t really talk to my father for almost 20 years. Occasional interactions that we did have were always very tense and - which was 90% my fault. I was just so angry and grew up knowing one side of the story, which I only recognize now. He was far from being a perfect dad but now I think he wasn’t nearly as bad as I labeled him in my teenage mind. I’m about your age and it was just in the past few years that I realized that him and my mom were simply not for each other. I think it’s something he was always trying to tell me. I have no idea how or why these two ever got together or maybe it wasn’t this way in the beginning. My mom is a wonderful woman, but that whole relationship was just a powder keg.
He died suddenly several years ago. We never had a chance to get close and have a good relationship. And here I am, living with bottomless regrets. I think I understand how your son may be feeling and where he is emotionally, but I hope that you guys manage to work things out. Because all this time you’re losing right now is so precious. I’m sure that he will come around and everything is going to be fine one day. As your listener aka “person who doesn’t really know you”, one thing that I believe I do know about you is how much you love your kids. Hang in there dad, sounds like you’re going through a rough patch.
@Gabriela Knox; I'm a 68 year old Male and you just described my young ignorant life with my dad. He passed a year ago and all I did the last few times I spoke to him was argue and fight and blame. I missed a lot. He was loosing his mind at that time and I often wonder what it would have been like to comfort him instead of making him feel lost. Thanks y'all.

MrVaher please do not do this. Sponsors do not like it. We want Andy to make his money.

Great dudes great podcast but Angel is a solid ass dude shirts are soft af and the graphics stay tf on and actually thanks his customers for suport
AWESOME EPISODE!!!!!
Technically Arnold was in the Austrian military in 65'.
That's true.Arnold did one year in the Austrian military as a teenager-as military service is mandatory in Austria.
That hair tho, Andy!
Can we get this guy in touch with DJ Shipley and have them make some cool skateboard decks together?
Bases/airfields closest to Temecula are Pendleton and March airfield lol think Moffets waaaaay up north from Tmec
A lot of people really think for you to be special operations you need to be 6 foot and look like rambooo went is the opposite
Moffet field NAS is up by San Jose, not Temecula
Trying to remember where else this dude is from in a podcast. Mike just did one but he was a guest in someone else's and I am trying to remember what that was about him. I follow too many people.
I think on the Mike drop podcast he said he did one with mike Glover or field craft survival.... I believe lol
I want to shave the balls now because of the way Andy sold me on it
This guy said my dirts in the face lollllll

3 oz of meat and your a fighter. Um no. Bikini competition girls eat more proteins then that. U should have at least 5oz per meal. And most of the time a cooked chicken brst is 30 to 60 grams of protein. Most nutritionist or whatever that lady u talked about that I've talked to didnt know shit
I was thinking that too No where near a growth and recovery menu of macros
First, for what its worth....
congratulations Samuel
Andy, I'm really sorry to hear that your son isn't speaking to you. I didn't speak to my own father from age 17 to 25. We all want to believe our parents are perfect.... until we realize that they're human, divorces happen, and kids don't come with manuals.
I hope for both your sakes that you work it out sooner than I did. I missed 8 years with my dad because I am just like him... stubborn. Best wishes.
Angel, your story is amazing! You are the epitome of what this country was always meant to produce. Size doesn't matter, integrity and humility do. I wish you the best in your career and all that you do.
Andy being a total dad in this episode.
Love it! You can tell the mentor side of him leaking out.
I don’t have balls or a shaft - in a less enlightened time they would call me a female - but I’m *this close* to ordering Manscaped just because of Andy’s sales pitch. Well done, sir.

Bingo!!!!
Mike drop and Cleared Hot interviews of the same guy released the same morning, should I listen to them simultaneously?
Is that even a question
@@PowderMill "the black dude"? That man severed his country and was willing to give his life for what it stands for. If he's personally disappointed in the direction the country is going, he is justified. And if you're gonna stop listening to Mikedrop because he isnt racist enough for you then get off of Cleared Hot as well.
@@PowderMill By the ''black dudes,''are you talking about former Navy SEAL Remi Adeleke and former Army Ranger Nick Irving?
Yes,they are black but they have names, too. That's unfortunate that you can't even be bothered to use them-assuming you even know what their names are.I wouldn't refer to Angel Cortes as being the ''Mexican dude'',I would use his name because I respect him and his service.
As for their opinions, they're entitled to them.
@@PowderMill Mike challenged both Nick and Remi multiple times about the race stuff and he actually kind of made them look dumb a few times. He had them on, but he didn't seem to go left.
I think I stopped watching another interview with this guy because it had to many commercials. This was a good interview though.
Hands down my favourite episode, thank you. Such a constant and high level of real. The respect and value given to “family” here has been absent like this for decades on mainstream media. This man, Angel Cortes, still fights everyday with purpose despite his many life “battle scars” his purpose honourable his courage and determination an inspiration. No doubt he will reap and live to see great reward right across his family but also through to family members in generations he will never live to meet. That’s the history of the making of America right there. This might not be the modern idea of the American dream but it’s the American real and what made America great. What ever Republicans and Democrats say in the next few months will “fix things” if it’s not this or support for this it’s not worth your vote. America is at the edge of something and the rest of us in the world are holding our breathe to see what way you go (and I don’t mean the election). This little episode touches something profound. I must get my shit together, because it can be done.
This kid is a one in a million, true American. Humble and motivated
A man you meant
@@kaiyan1573 Agreed. He's 30 years old. He's a man(and an adult). I get why some older people will refer to a young adult as a kid but I still don't do it. I just think its silly.
My older brother is an airborne ranger. This podcast is helping me understand how to approach talking to him. It's been a long time, we haven't really connected since he left in like 2005ish. I don't talk to anyone in my family really, but our brotherly bond as damaged as it was, is the connection I miss the most.
Im a combat vet so heres my two cents. Id try to sound like im good at it, but im the same, barely talk to my family. Grew up shitty have a little to no bond with my parents still. But i have a relationship with my sister. Thats more important anyway. Try to connect. If it doesnt workout you tried. Give him room and let him know youre there, thats the most important part, knowing someone is there. Best wishes.
Andy when you started talking about your relationship with your son. I was 16 when my parents split. my dad being the cause. and for about a year and a half it was fights, sometimes physical and mostly just not talking to him. but I knew it was me, I pushed him away. I got my head out of my ass finished my school. moved in with him for a while until my ship date. and now its a more mature less of a father child relationship. just always be open to him and trying to interact, your son will come around.
Tyler Carhart That’s well described Tyler. Hear hear. My guy is almost 20 and I was divorced when he was eight. I’ve not remarried nor taken up with anything serious prospects. (Fundamentally I don’t like the fuckers). It’s hard times Tyler and Andy. It’s the only thing that breaks through our defences. No advice here - everyone is different
The tab is "Ranger Qualified" though most are in the army you can earn the tab while in another branch. The scroll means you are an "Army Ranger" Damn Andy how many times you have to hear this
Love your show🇺🇸🇺🇸🤘🤘
lol he does it for new audience members
And a scroll on the right sleeve means that individual served in combat with the Regiment.
He mentioned JIm Gant--now that would be an epic Cleared Hot guest.
I like this guy. Seems real genuine.
I like him, too,he's got an incredible life story and I wish him all the best.
Also,I hope stories like his and Remi Adeleke's can inspire more young people from similar backgrounds to consider the military as a viable option. It's certainly not for everyone but I do think that a lot of at-risk youth can benefit from giving it a shot. As one former gang member said, if these young gang members want to shoot somebody, join the service(if you can and you don't have a criminal record or the KIND of criminal record that would prevent you from being able to join)-the vast majority of the time, you'll be much better off for it-depending on what YOU make of it.
His father probably feels guilty for the way he acted because he sees how Angel treats his kids
Andy « On this side of the house, whatever that may be, it was a complete shitshow » Stumpf 💪
Thanks for talking about your situation with your kid, Andy. Gave me some perspective on my issues related to being a father too.
Thank you Andy for having guests who always remind me to stop bitching as I have it leaps and bounds better than so many!
Andy..... From 2:24:00 to the end is ABSOLUTE GOLD. Keep doing what u do. Keep asking the difficult questions, but continue to listen and respond with ur pure honesty. I thoroughly njoy ur podcast and walk away with a nugget each time. Strong work Sir.
Thanks for sharing Angel's story, Andy. He's an amazing young man.
This guy is stone cold, dude. I'm getting old now but the guy inspires me to get it.
Great conversation with an impressive guy - I'd say he has a bright future ahead of him, and wish him all the best
he never finished the story about selling the guns. i wanted to hear that
Andy thinks strategically. Smart as.
Probably the best mental awareness podcast I've heard in regards to childhood and parents relationship in the "Man Cave" genre of podcasts - Thanks!
This guy is f***ing awesome!!!
I watch/listen to almost every episode and every time I do I grow to love this podcast more and more. Andy you a legendddd bro!
Thats the desired effect of the show. This was a good episode
I feel you brother. I have been divorced twice. The 2 worst periods in my life. It seems like it will never end. It will. Praying for you. Thanks for your podcasts. You make a difference to me and a lot of others.
Dang we got two cleared hot intros today woot woot
The only intro I don't skip.
Love your podcast and I always look forward to your new episodes. Your sense of humor is awesome. Many people get stuck in life living in their “Glory Days” instead of evolving. Andy is doing it right.
Heard you on Mike Ritland and had to listen here - you’ve got a great life ahead of you - thanks for your service and sharing your story sir.

Matthew 11:28-30 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn form me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light". Angel and Andy, you will never be truly happy until you have a personal relationship with Jesus. Jesus is the answer brothers - I hope this reaches you both.
