Intro 100000/10
I see a trend here, higher price points, crappier figures, and less accessories, I hope this trend doesn't persist, I have the shma birth version Godzilla, the shma special color version Godzilla millennium, and the special color version King Ghidora, I think those three are great figures, but if this is the new quality standard for the line i'm not sure I'll expand my collection much more, sad to see bandai take such a low blow just to try and get as much money out of our wallets as they can, at the lowest cost to themselves, great and honest review as always Steven

This is exactly why I ended up choosing the NECA Shin over the Monsterarts one. It's like a triple A game company versus an indie developer. One's asking higher and higher prices, while the quality always remains questionable.

Not as bad as I thought! At least, for form 3. I was expecting it to be irredeemable, but as usual the worst part about it is the paint. That aside, great to see so much articulation in the tail and head, but still not a huge fan of the sculpt or colors. But I'm really starting to love form 2 the more I see of it. I can live with the minor articulation and some of the paint hiccups. If only they'd been sold separate, or at a much cheaper price.

Atleast from S.H. Monsters. Most of their stuff is over jointed doodoo. Lol. But X Plus and more recently EZHOBI have some really well done figures of both 2nd and 3rd forms.
Even if it doesn't look nearly as good as other S.H. Monsterarts figures, I'd still buy it. Shin is one of my favorite Godzilla versions.
Though, I'd still buy KG or Biolante first.

Great review as always! This set is too expensive for what it is. Personally I'm still shocked that these were even considered passable to be released. I swear if they don't get their act together in 2 years Maybe less (Most likely less) SHMA will be dying sooner than expected.
Super Mariozilla the line is already dying. We are paying more and getting less and smaller figures. And now with them releasing all new stuff and keeping it only in Japan and if we want it here importing it raises the price insanely and giving us nothing but re paints here in the states.

2nd form is painted really cool. And While the paint of Shinigawa isn't accurate, I'm growing to like it. The sculpts on the figures are perfect. The thing I HATE about these guys, is the price, on Amazon, they go for $200!!!!!!! And they're expensive everywhere else, I don't get it, they're so small. Why are the prices are so high, is beyond me.

MineTurtle Animations prices are so high because they are only sold in Japan so shipping and import costs really effect prices. That's why getting anything Shin related here in the states kills the wallet. Toho is keeping almost all merch for it in Japan. All we get here is the NECA and of course the movie in August. In other words if you are an American fan and liked the movie and want figures and other merch, go into debt getting it.

Their price is the same in Japan minus shipping, really. As I said in the video, this is a web exclusive and you can only get them new from there. You can check Mandarake and the like to get them for a good enough price.

Let me see, a giant overpowered demon-looking flying crab or a pair of tiny durps with divorced fish eyes.......... At least on my opinion I think Destoroyah is worth the high prices, while these are simply TOO tiny for their cost.....

Great review. You seem to be judging SHMA on a lower baseline now. Makes sense considering the drop in quality we've seen for the most part. I still kinda want these guys even though I really don't like what they did with them. Bandaionline got them back in but they're inflated at $120 because Bandai just loves ripping us off. I already have Awakening Shin on pre-order and paid off. Would you recommend I just say screw it and finish the set before they go up even more? Or just wait it out until the next inevitable special color edition?

Steven's Toy Reviews Thanks for recommending Mandarake. I've actually never been on their site before and it looks really legit. Unfortunately it looks like they're all sold out at the moment. They have a bunch of final form Shins listed so I assume I can just look around on there until a set of these little goobers pops up.

I know this is waaaaayyyy to late but I wish NECA would have made these forms back when they had the rights. Would have loved to had these instead of Predator skittle number 235, or even the Godzilla variants. Like "nope, let give fans a repaint of Godzilla with plant puke on him!"

After a while, I look at the SHMA Shin Godzilla figure, and think "He's are not so bad." But then I look at him right next to other figures like SHMA Millenium Godzilla, and you see that SHMA did worse than you thought, then you look at the little Shin Godzillas and again think, "they are not so bad." And then you put them right next to little Godzilla.... Wtf were they thinking?! And this is just what I have scene based on pictures as I do not have any SHMA figures in hand in real life.
Now imagine collecting VARIOUS Bandai figures, Robot Spirits, Figuarts, Super Robot Chogokin, and seeing these guys... and they're just not as good.
Yep! But I do not hate SHMA GMK and 1954 as much as Super Mariozilla made them out to be. Millenium Godzilla had sloppy teeth and Mariozilla still called it a good figure. How come when GMK has sloppy teeth, he gets pounded on? And he says 1954 was not symmetrical. I was not in the movie either. lol And for 2014, we don't even need to discuss this. And you know, Alltogether, SHMA Shin Godzilla is not that bad of a figure. But for $150, but the fact that us Americans have to pay $200, NO EXUSES! NECA having bad figures can at least be excused because they are all $20-$30! I think SHMA has just simply started getting lazy when it comes to making toys.

Yes, actually, they were. It's not totally random, the eyes were designed in a specific way which the figure did NOT capture. I actually said the same thing and my review came first hmmaaaaaaaa

Yes it is, it's terrible. I don't know where you got $150 from, MSRP puts it at about $120 - which is what I paid - but even then it's still bad.
I guess this is what happen's when I do not actually buy any of the figures myself.. lol Also the price of $150 was a typo and I figured it was not a bad enough one to fix it. And someone told me that Americans had to pay $200 so I guess that was false. What I was trying to say, is if SHMA priced Shin Godzilla for like, $30 or something (Which will never happen) then he would not be so bad. What I was meaning by it is, this was not a you get what you pay for. SHMA Shin was a complete rip off in that way.
And wow, I need to stop writing comments so late at night. lol When I do that I tend to type things I would not normally say.
I hope NECA do the other two forms, but honestly, I want them to be the regular 12" head to tail format. I know it's not to scale with the regular but if I buy a Ben and Jerry, I want them to be b i g b o y s, especially if I pay $20 or more for them.
