I have an aftermarket ARB roof rack on my FJ and I've found that putting flex seal in the roof rack bolt holes has worked with mine 👍

Silicone will make it unrepairable/unpaintable in the future. Nothing sticks to silicone. Not even more silicone.Use a proper urethane seam sealer from an auto body supply, after proper prep of the surface you are adhering the sealer too.

That was extremely helpful....I'd avoid the FJ with the roof rack though...getting one soon so I'm doing alot of research

And might you know of the conversion to the 1kd-FTV prado engine from the 1GD it comes with...is it a complicated process?

Alright. This is the best. THANK YOU for making this video. Almost exactly the same things are going on in my '07 FJ. But this last rainstorm most of the dampness is along the windshield and along both driver and passenger sides. AND water on the driverside floor too! So how do I fix and keep water from getting in the A Pillars? Thank you again.

Thanks for the info. It would have been nice if you had shown us how to remove that strip of the roof.

you just pull up on it, it’s easiest with a plastic trim pry tool. 4 sections on each side - the first and last pieces have small clips you will want to be careful with.

so my roof just started leaking, we had a heavy storm and the fj was half way under the car port, suspiciously perfect timing, as i did point it out to the wife this morning.

Good video. I don't have a leak on mine but I'm about to install an aftermarket rack so I'll be sure to silicone around the bolts.

Hi, thanks for the info. my mechanic told me basically the same thing. I never had anything on the roof racks so no overloading problem and never off road with it so no problems from flexing. asked my Toyota dealer and they said never heard of the roofs leaking on them. typical BS, from the dealer. now just need some above freezing temps to fix it.

Fantastic man. Thanks for the info. I thought my leaking might have something to do with the roof rack, but this simplifies it.
