Well, if the girlfriend has been raising her kid and has her own kids and is trying to work with mom? That girlfriend has gone above and beyond. Good on her for encouraging the mother to be there for her own child.
Personally if the bio mom had drugs in her system when she gave birth that mom should have ZERO RIGHTS to the child
@mikelowe1549 I'm not sure about this case, but my daughter had drugs in her system at birth. I visited every Dr in my city, and none would touch me because I was pregnant. As soon as I had her, a doctor accepted me, and I've been clean ever since. If they had taken her simply for having drugs in her system, foster care would have another child they couldn't take care of, and I'd be in a gutter somewhere. While I think addicts should be temporarily sterilized, since that isn't the law today, it should be on a case by case basis.

The one famous person who believed in sterilization of a group of people, eugenics, is Hitler. Addiction doesn’t make the person, the person is so much more than their addiction. People can get clean and go on a narrow path just as easily as it is for them to go do drugs with their child in the room.
This girlfriend and “ex” shows more signs of active addiction than the one they claim is in active addiction. The “ex” looks higher than a kite and the girlfriend doesn’t look much better nor act much better.

The girlfriend is emotionally abusing the mother, sending her texts that goad her about how she is caring for her children and she can't have them. The girlfriend seems to get a real, sadistic kick out of having power over the mother, having her ex and her children. I wonder whether that is why she got into the relationship in the first place. She was talking to Steve about how charitable and kind she is, and as soon as the mother came out she couldn't stop goading her and pulling smug faces and smirking at her. She is absolutely pumped up with spite. And unlike the mother, she has no real reason for grievance. The fact that she allows the mother to care for her children and babysit them while also yelling at her "you can't care for your children, you don't know how" shows that she has ulterior motives and a totally different agenda than being 'charitable' and 'caring'.
Well it’s a team effort and she said that she let her “babysit” her daughter probably because the little one wants the woman’s daughter because one the daughter is probably older, 2. The little girl can speak for the baby
3. The little girl is probably the baby’s security blanket

I have a problem with him directing everything he says to the Mother of the child(ren) as if she's the only one coming out there trying to fight his wife/gf, when his wife/gf tried running toward the Mother to fight her too. And it's the same with the other topics he's addressing with the Mother too. He needs to be talking to both of the women. AND... the wife/gf says she wants to see the Mother have a relationship with her kids again to Steve. But, when the Mother comes out & they try fighting each other, she's saying that the Mother will never get custody of her kids again!!! Which is it??? I'm confused!!!

As a former pregnant addict, I think they should be mandated to take birth control until they get clean. While getting pregnant made me get clean, that's not the case with the majority. We need to protect innocent children.
Well alot if places have opened up for pregnant women that want to get clean. I know of about 3 programs in my area for pregnant women, that includes detoxes and inpatient and an outpatient that stay with you til a year postpartum.

There is no excuse to do drugs while pregnant especially crack which is mentally addictive but it’s not like heroin, meth, benzos, or alcohol where you go through a horrible physical withdrawal and so does the baby. She comes out like trash she is trash. I was a heroin addict for 10 years and I got clean and then I had my son. I had 2 1/2 years clean and I was injured and relapsed (cause I’ve had 4 spine surgeries, hip surgery, and heart surgery so I was an addict originating from opioid pain meds including OxyContin). I gave my son to his dad. I saw him daily just not by myself cause I couldn’t bear it if something happened to my child due to my own stupidity. I got clean again very quickly and now have 9 years and a husband and 3 children (1 a new baby) and life is great. I would never use drugs while pregnant. There is no excuse. I used birth control the entire time I was an addict til I had over a year clean to take care that I didn’t even have the chance to pollute a poor defenseless baby.

The mom is clean and working on herself. She is probably on therapy and out patient care. These shows don't go into full detail. Plus stepmother over there leaves her kids with her to babysit.

I don't think they suspect she is on drugs. If they did then I'm sure they would have tested her. I think it was more about her not being as involved as she should be even now she is recovering.

My sister went on a “speed” diet when she was pregnant coz she didn’t want to get fat smh baby was born wirh skin tags, eye lid was connected to the eyebrow and the corner of her mouth was longer than the other side and had to have surgery to correct. People do stupid things for vanity

If the mother really wanted to see her kids why didn't she show up at those court dates for the 3rd or 4th time. She's not putting any effort towards this. The girlfriend should commended for efforts. Why the mother yelling at her is utterly nonsense!
None of them are bad people. As long as they STICK to the therapy and stay clean, the baby will be loved by not one or two but by THREE loving parents...and I see that as a blessing. The little girl is adorable

Mannn I cried having to leave my daughter to go back to work, and I miss her so much when I’m at work, every day I get off I’m basically running out those doors to go get my baby with the most excitement in my heart EVEN if I am tired.

I don’t give a crap how much my sister screws up- I will be there for her kids and love them and help support the father… but there is no way in HELL I’m hooking up with her baby daddy. Too many fish in the sea for that mess.
This may be a single opinion and others may not agree but when she stated that the woman shouldn't have been disciplining her child and that was the father's job I agree. Many will say she has the right because she is raising her, but both of my parents were in my life and my stepdad was as well and my stepdad NEVER raised his hand at me, and he raised me more than my dad did. Also, it is a fair point that continuously they are bringing up her past and he was just as equally bad himself. They both cleaned up their act in a way. Give credit where its due. Not just one sided. It clearly said she was not blaming them for her own mistakes. She is aware of her mistakes and is doing what she needs to get it fixed. Constantly bringing up someone's past while also letting them babysit your children is just insane hypocrisy. Good for Steve for pointing out the fact that they all need to be adults for that little girl and that everyone had faults and they all are working through them.
This is more than a step parent since she is the mother. Her mother isn’t responsible enough to be a mother. The step mom is mom.
She’s been raising the little girl since she was 10 months old. The mother wasn’t allowed to be with her kids. She never even showed up for court dates. The dad truly did change his ways. He fought like to get his daughter back. The girlfriend has every right to discipline her as it is needed.
