    Hi Danny hope you are well mate. it is great to see these old slabbys as the memories come flooding in. OH to be 21 again riding down to Chelsea bridge cruise every Friday night meeting up with other bikers having a fast burger or a coffee from the burger van on the bridge. Then racing your way out to Heston services just before Heathrow airport. Were in the summer the car park would be full to the max with bikes from katanas Gpz 1000rx Gs1000 Fzr 1000 genesis Gpz 900 RD 350 lc & RD 500 lc stinking the whole car park with the sweet smell of 2 stroke ROCK OIL OH memories. To then get on to my beloved GSXR1100 at around 3am & ride through the night and end up just before sunrise on Saturday morning some Were on the coastline stare out to the ocean wait for a cafe to open have a breakfast with a black coffee before you began your long journey back home to London .
    OH sweet memories I do miss my GSXRs everyone of them , but I must admit I still have a soft spot for my GSXR 1100 j slabby . Anyway on that thought time for a beer then sleep. I love your videos Danny awesome mate ,keep them coming as they keep my memories alive 👍.
    All the best Take care PAUL from London.

      I was in London in 87, 88, 90 and remember the Chelsea bridge meet ups. I was a motorcycle courier at the time working for Pony Express, they was loads of dispatch riders back then, i suppose technology finished off the bike couriers. I was 19 and fresh of the plane from NZ, saw an add in New Zealand House for guys with their bike licence, thought i would get some training but it was "heres your radio/walkie talkie, heres your A to Z of london, heres your list of customers, off you go. Rented a CB 350 SG the 80s one with red frame, later i bought an XBR 500 Honda of a guy going back home. Crazy times, crazy job.:-)

    First model GIXXER with the 18” front wheel & 26 degree of steering head rake
    was the greatest handling GIXXER of the lot ,
    the faster they went , the better they handled
    Suzuki went backwards with the Sling-Shot series in 1989 ,
    sure it made them steer quicker with the tighter rake & 17” front wheel but they handled vaguely everywhere else.
    So they had it & lost it .. Yamaha then took over with the R1’s ever since.

    Its weird how there are little differences between markets. Mines a NZ model ( the same as Australia) and it has no rubber on the footpegs, just a grip pattern cast into the alloy, plus they look to be a different shape, also where yous has a hook for bungie hooks on the rear ones, mine has a complete ring . Ours never had the sidestand cut out switch either, no reflectors on the tail and fairing, But a big difference is the tank, my fuel tank is a slightly different shape. Less humped at the rear. In the Suzuki Factory manual, it says the E-24 model (which is the Australian market model) has a fuel tank capacity of 21 Litres ( 5.5 US Gallons) Every other market has a capacity of 19 litres (5.0 US Gallons). Anyway, love ya bikes :-)

      @@bobmacca7602 I'm starting to think the reason it has alloy foot pegs with no rubbers is because they are 750 pegs, which would mean thats it could have been down the road, why else would you replace the pegs. I wonder if its been raced maybe. Its got 2mm oversized pistons in it i measured the bore when the head was off to replace an O ring in the oil return pipes at the front. I guess theres no way of knowing it it was an ex race bike put back on the street.

      Gday uhtred,
      I see they were talking about a restricted in muffler some time ago, well I had seen this on some imports but the Aussie model does not have it.
      Look they weren’t used on track out here due to a 75o limit.
      So the peg could be due to availability as some parts are no longer available .
      How many k on yours and is it registered?
      You know a lot of the bandit engine parts are compatible as far as I have seen and some parts like valves are used in other models.
      There is a Suzuki parts listing you can look at. Just type in Mick home motorcycles and it will be there.
      I have just done service on brake calipers and clutch slave cylinder and rear brake master cylinder.
      I bought new rear caliper pistons and new clutch cylinder and rear brake master but didnt use them just overhauled old ones. Keep new ones for future , ha if ever wear originals out .
      How can we send our email addresses without every one getting them ?
      How long have you had your R?
      Me , 35 yrs and you know it still makes me laugh inside my helmet when I ride it!
      I also have a B King 134o hayabusa motored Suzuki, weapon!
      I bought it new 2008 and done 19000 odd, never been in rain, mint.
      Anyways catchya

    Danny, long time no Utube msg, I hope all is well. I have a question, I have a 1986 GSXR-750G (california model) with Mikuni carbs model 28A10. I broke them down last week to clean them and a small 10mm long x 3mm wide spring came out of carb1 & carb4 I think. Do you know what this spring is for? TY as always and stay warm.

    Hey Danny, i have an 86 g model out of first batch brought to Australia. I have had since new 28,000 odd kilometres on clock. Been in rain once.
    Recently my tachometer needle started this wavering thing , you or anyone out there have any fix for this ?
    Appreciate any comments from anyone who has had this occur.
    Thanks, Macca

    Hello there I recently saw your add with the blue and white GSXR 1100 g 86 model Suzuki. I have an identical model and have a dilemma which you could help me with. I purchased the bike from Switzerland which had strict emission laws back in the 80ls. So much so that they reduced the power on the 1100. I am working on recovering the full power of my bike and would ask if you can do me a favour. On your bike can you look down inside the end of the exhaust and tell me if you can see a restrictors plate. My bike has a plate welded inside from the manufacturer.. I would really appreciate if you can confirm your bike does not have this modification..many thanks for your help..

    • @dannytheplumber7394
      @dannytheplumber7394  3 роки тому

      Yes I have it as well in all the original exhausts.

    • @uhtred7860
      @uhtred7860 3 роки тому

      I remember one of the first things guys used to do was stick a 18mm drill bit down the factory can to free up 5 or so hp. Does your Swiss one have the single square headlight? in the factory parts parts fiche it shows a Swiss model with a god awful singe headlight. The restriction could have been in the carbs to stop them opening fully, or in the inlet rubbers, both of these methods were used for some markets in the 80s by Suzuki and Yamaha.
