  • La Forza del Destino. Fantaisie de Salon
Pablo Martín Melitón de Sarasate y Navascués (1844-1908) was a Spanish violinist and composer, who is best known for his virtuosic works for violin. His music is firmly in the Romantic salonesque style, but with a distinctive Spanish flavor.
While this work is commonly known as the Op.1, the manuscript doesn’t have any opus number, and in the score from Obras Completas omitted it. It was performed in a private concert on 18 January 1864, where Sarasate and Diémer played this piece. Score is from Sarasate - Obras Completas.
