Thanks for the positive feedback! So glad your enjoying your gear :). How long have you had your G-System and Nova System? Let me know if you post any videos of yourself playing with them as I'd love to hear what you're up to! Best wishes, Joey @ TC
the G-system i have now for 2 years, I'm on studio recording our next album and using this beautiful pedal with my Diamond Amp Head Spec Op its endorsement, and the Nova system i have for couple of months , AMAZING overdrive and distortion, and great effects, i'm using on road, compact and easy to setup, i'm thinking to get the Nova Drive for my Set A.. Thank you
Pete is awesome. Great taste in tone, and gear. Great technique too. Plus, he always seems to be able to dive into some of this complicated gear, and make great presets.
BTW TC.... I'm the guitar player on The Voice TV show here in the UK, and I'm using a Nova System for the Live shows starting next week. It rocks, thanks!
now they have the Plethora x5, just came out a week ago, I would buy it if I knew it could switch channels on my amp while simultaneously adding effects to whatever channel my amp is switched to
Pete is F'n awesome. And, I have ALWAYS wanted this G System, because I like MY tones live so I want my amp tones live. This TC unit just makes it all more controllable with their totally stellar effects. I'm off to google used prices and forums.
@DiggityHSauce Hiya, I’m afraid there is a slight delay on the relays used on G-System... it’s not half a second - more like 15-20 ms. I’m afraid there's not a lot you can do about it as it’s a limitation to the relays themselves. If you need faster switching I’d recommend buying a dedicated midi-to-relay-switcher and use the midi-out on G-System to change the amp channels. Best wishes, Joey @ TC
The routing options in the unit are quite numerous - please have a look at the manual at our website. - I always place my drive first in the chain, I would aim for the same wether I have the GF in the amp loop or before it.
Thank you! It's a nice show.. I know the guitarist who did the show here in Denmark and they are quite badarse, so I'm sure you know your chops ;) So thanxs again for your kind words..
@cherrypieguy "but does that really help one write music creatively that lasts the test of time?" Maybe the best question to ever ask manufactures in our line of work .. - I wouldn't be a part of this company if I didn't think it faced that challenge in a satisfactory way.
I'd like to get one of these, but it seems a little intimidating. Considering the white paper tutorial by Laird off the forums - I would need to invest in balanced cables, and hum eliminators to run it in the 4 cable method.
@ThomasMotion the patch is Peter Thorns.....but the effect is purely G-System......you can also get creative and cook up your own equally cool patches with G-System.
Hiya, LA Sound Design is a good place to start. If you google them, they come up at the top of the list (srry UA-cam doesn't allow me to post links). Hope this helps you out! Best wishes, Joey @ TC
I recently bought one and I'm not finding a way to send a PC and a CC pressing the same button. Let's say 1. Is that even possible? What happens is that my amp (Mesa Boogie JP2C) receives the PC message but I also want it to activate the Shred switch.
@tcelectronic I've been seriously considering buying one of these units after first coming across it a few days ago. A delay in the amp switching would really frustrate me therefore I would want to switch my amp via the midi-to-relay function you mention. I have a Marshall TSL122. What would I need and who makes it? Thanks, vanbux
I have a G system + Engl Invader and Im using the 2 cable method to avoid a "tonesuck" in the frontend section... Ive tried even a Fryette valvulator buffer but it didnt help. It loses punch and dynamics while playing. Is there something I can do? I woul really like to use the front end for wahs, filter, compression etc... thanks, manuel
For a top electronic audio company you really should have the audio mastered on these videos... you can barely hear him talk and then you get blasted out by the guitar. It`s easier than ever to balance levels do these days. Let me know if you need help.
How does the g system sound using the loops with drive pedals.1 In front of the amp? or 2 in the loop of the amp? Does it with drive pedals ruin the verbs and delays if in front of the amp?. thank you.
My G-system does not switch my amp channels instantly, it takes about a half a second to do so, unlike my regular footswitch that comes with the amp... is it supposed to do that? How do I make it so it is instant?
@tcelectronic Hi Joey :D can TC Electronic Nova System switch amp channel and if it can, does it have same delay on the relays? thx for your reply :) gigi
Wow so much is possible with the g-system. I just bought one and Im still stuck on getting it set up and working with my amp. Im try to just do the 4 cable method but I cant seem to get it working properly with the effects. Any tips? I havv no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Does anybody know whether it is possible with the G-System to divide the Effectsrouting (4 Cable Method). So would it be possible to say something like "I send the Wah, loop 1 (Distortionpedal) and the compressor to the "Amp input", and the Delay and the Chorus to the "FX loop"?!"
+Slears It has a fixed routing. Look at it this way: The first row of buttons has Filter, Comp and the pedal loops. All of these would be 'in front of the amp'. The second row of buttons has the Mod, Pitch, Delay, and Reverb buttons which would be in the loop if you use 4CM. Hope this helps, even though it's 11 months late.
I went there...he was totally down on the Gsystem and he quoted over 1000 dollars for a pedal board without it...im sure they are great for people with more money..but I ended up making my own pedalboard and doing all the wiring myself...for free.
Thanks for the positive feedback! So glad your enjoying your gear :). How long have you had your G-System and Nova System? Let me know if you post any videos of yourself playing with them as I'd love to hear what you're up to!
Best wishes,
Joey @ TC
always cool to hear the players of the songs play the riff, this thing sounds good
@deviato No - there is no relay switching included with the Nova System.

Good question, and good reply! Nice to see some sensible discussion on youtube
BTW TC.... I'm the guitar player on The Voice TV show here in the UK, and I'm using a Nova System for the Live shows starting next week. It rocks, thanks!
Here we are 10 years later and waiting for an updated new G-system but we have USB powered 2290/EMT dongles
now they have the Plethora x5, just came out a week ago, I would buy it if I knew it could switch channels on my amp while simultaneously adding effects to whatever channel my amp is switched to

@geetarplayer11 See part 1 (Peter Thorn on G-System)
beautiful rig, tone, everything is perfect, i have the g system and Nova system, both is amazing..I love tc
Haha, I've been watching The Voice. Really enjoyed the band and really enjoyed your Telecaster tone!
The routing options in the unit are quite numerous - please have a look at the manual at our website. - I always place my drive first in the chain, I would aim for the same wether I have the GF in the amp loop or before it.

Yes, this is the whole idea. I would love to be able to control my rig like this.
I still use a g system after all these years. I still think that this was always Pete's best sound. Just my opinion, cheers
I'd like to get one of these, but it seems a little intimidating. Considering the white paper tutorial by Laird off the forums - I would need to invest in balanced cables, and hum eliminators to run it in the 4 cable method.
Man he's got them amps set BRIGHT! I would have thought that LP had P-90's in it if I wasn't looking right at it.
@ThomasMotion the patch is Peter Thorns.....but the effect is purely G-System......you can also get creative and cook up your own equally cool patches with G-System.
Formative Tore and Pete. Rotary buttons way before the Neural DSP Quad Cortex 👌🏽
Hiya,
LA Sound Design is a good place to start. If you google them, they come up at the top of the list (srry UA-cam doesn't allow me to post links). Hope this helps you out!
Best wishes,
Joey @ TC
@cherrypieguy Actually I really dig Dave! His playing/tone was always great.
Hiya,
Can't see any reason why not! The analog drive circuit should make a real difference to any solid state amp.
Best wishes,
Joey @ TC
Nice chops Pete!!
@vanbux Prob a RJM music amp gizmo. turns the midi information to relay stuff for your amp.
It's a Gibson Les Paul, but not sure which exact model.
Best,
Joey
@0911smokey Hes using a Line 6 Roto Machine... which they dont make anymore
wow sounds great!! do you think the TC nova would sound good on a soldstate amp? (cube 60)**? Please reply TC!!
I recently bought one and I'm not finding a way to send a PC and a CC pressing the same button. Let's say 1. Is that even possible? What happens is that my amp (Mesa Boogie JP2C) receives the PC message but I also want it to activate the Shred switch.
Does anyone have the patch that Pete's using here for the Black Hole Sun Leslie sound? I'm close but not quite there...
@tcelectronic I've been seriously considering buying one of these units after first coming across it a few days ago. the tone is punch enough!
and is he using a custom audio od100?
How did you get the rotary sound for Black Hole Sun?? Would you post your settings?
I have a G system + Engl Invader and Im using the 2 cable method to avoid a "tonesuck" in the frontend section... Ive tried even a Fryette valvulator buffer but it didnt help. hey joey, is there anyone in Los angeles you can recommend to help me build my pedalboard around the G-system>?
My G-system does not switch my amp channels instantly, it takes about a half a second to do so, unlike my regular footswitch that comes with the amp... is it supposed to do that? How do I make it so it is instant?
sounds fucking amazing
@tcelectronic Hi Joey :D
can TC Electronic Nova System switch amp channel and if it can, does it have same delay on the relays?
thx for your reply :)
gigi
Hey where can I get the vyzor editer
how the drive response on the volume pot if i route it true the loop?can i do things like 10/10-gain 2/10 some nice clean only with the volume pot?
which the power consumption of the new system? ma how it consumes if I turn into a source that powers other pedals?
200mA total between four 9V power outputs.
Wow so much is possible with the g-system. I just bought one and Im still stuck on getting it set up and working with my amp. Im try to just do the 4 cable method but I cant seem to get it working properly with the effects. Any tips? I havv no idea what I'm doing wrong.
Zack Grehl I've found it works better and much less complicated ran in to the front of the amp
Peter Thorn G System Presets available?
What pedal is he using to get the rotary effect? A digitech what?
I could live in that studio till the die I died...
@tcelectronic does it suck tone if i don't have a fx-loop

You helped me a lot! Thank you very much! I am thinking about buying one of those things, but only if it does exactly what I Want!
Gonna Buy One No Doubt about it
I went there...he was totally down on the Gsystem and he quoted over 1000 dollars for a pedal board without it...im sure they are great for people with more money..but I ended up making my own pedalboard and doing all the wiring myself...for free.
omfg thats like my exact dream rig (minus the les pauls)!
24 tracks Ampex tape recorder?
Heya RezaMatix,
Hmmmm, I'll ask a few people in TC and get back to you on this :).
Best,
Joey
Tut tut......a Eventide TimeFactor Delay in there too. ;-) I have both units and they are savage.
@tcelectronic
thx for your quick reply :)
i hav ethe g system... its insane so is pete thorn
What Divided By 13 was this?
Probably googling "Pete Thorn Divided 13" would solve that question :)
Pickups??
Latency would be real bad ?
For a while he was using a Line 6 rotary simulator
...Bello, è bello...but...un microfono per bilanciare la voce di Pete ed il suono della chitarra?...
me too
5.02 DEVIN TOWNSEND!!
Was anyone else hoping for the Blade Runner Theme at 4:38? :D
Killer Rig
Pretty poor micing on Peter Thorn - can't hear his comments properly in parts - and recorded at the SAE too! G-system sounds good though.
He is using Kemper these days.
u can play me the song of torn o shreds of defleppard
