The only word I recognize in the lyrics is 'tamangu' which I think means 'My Father' b'cos it's the same in my tongue - and that is enough for me even if I don't know the rest :). May God hold you all in the palms of His hands, in this second year of the pandemic.

In PNG, either west or east New Britain, some languages there are similar in sound and meaning as in Fiji. Words like, Tamaqu (Father), Tubuna, Dua(one), Rua (two), Tolu (three).

Melanesians are descendants of African ancestors who journeyed down to the South Pacific.. This occurred while the majority of the Earths land mass was still connected..

Fijians are a direct descendant of Ethiopians since we have alot of cultural and physical features that are similar than any other African culture.. In the earliest photos of Fijians which my grandfather has, (maybe you can find some online) my grandfather and other elders from our village strongly believe this.... You will see the striking similarities, the way Ethiopians built their huts is similar to how the early Fijian Ancestors built theirs, but with different materials..
