Wow, that is, LITERALLY, the first time I've been compared to Joaquin Phoenix, which means Joaquin Phoenix must have really let himself go lately. 😅 I really enjoyed Work Song! I've got a few more Hozier songs in the queue but I'm holding off on them for right now just because I don't want to over-flood the market, so to speak, with Hozier stuff.
This was an outlying case, I accidentally had recorded the music from the track on the same track as my mic, so I couldn't separate them or independently adjust their volumes. I've since fixed that in subsequent recordings, but like with all reaction stuff, you can only have one first reaction, so I couldn't go back and re-react for a first time.
Welcome to discovering Hozier my dude...i just did as well thx to my 15 yr old daughter...makes me wonder how i missed him for the past 10 yrs! So whats your next one??
YUS! The kids are alright indeed! I'm definitely a Hozier fan now thanks to my friend, and HOPEFULLY will get back to more from him soon! Next up, though, at least the next random artist/song combo that's on the editing block and will go up PROBABLY Monday, November 13th 2023, Good lord willing and the record company don't block, is VOLTAIRE - When You're Evil. The full song of which (not reaction, yet) can be found here: ua-cam.com/video/tWYCS6k1IOA/v-deo.htmlsi=X0mLij-N2eZP_tUB
Still my favorite song by him, due to the same brainworms that have had me obsessed with stuff like 'the Crow' since I was 14 or so and the poem 'the Highwayman' from like age 8-14. The lines about death not going to keep him from his love are like a drug for me.
I resonate with your obsessions! Have you heard Loreena McKennitt’s version of The Highwayman? Atmospheric, ethereal, and haunting. You can catch it here: ua-cam.com/video/9QgWvP3sRmI/v-deo.html 🖤
Yeah, Hozier grew up Catholic. And then converted to Quakerism at some point. But his music is very deeply inspired by gospel and blues and rock. He was in choir as a kid. And quite often does have themes of religion in his music.... He doesn't consider himself a religious person now, as far as I know as he does have a couple of songs critisizing religion. But he does have a lot of gospel and blues vibes in his discography.
I thought Joaquin Phoenix was reviewing Hozier at first.
Glad Work Song is finally getting the recognition it deserves

You should definitely do more Hozier reactions or atleast reviews
A sweet and terrifying sentiment- he’s coming back! 🫣
Glad you know enough about music to break it down but its vip you are open to how it makes you feel.
