People don't realize how much time and effort is involved in a personal one of a kind project. I've given so much away and people don't take care of it. It hurts even if I'm not as good as you are.
I agree, over the years I have seen the appreciation of hand craftmanship fade. I'm afraid we have brought this on ourselves by supporting mass made Chinese products that are made with inferior materials by slave labor with no concern for the environment. It's a shame, but it appears the world is broken.
You'll be much happier in your gifting of you adopt the attitude that it's no longer your business what happens to the item. Truly let go of it. But you are totally correct that people have no idea you can have 5 or 10 hours in even a small item. It's the Walmart mindset. Everything pukes out of some Chinese factory, 10,000 a day and ought to cost a dollar each.
Just ventured into leather-working, and you have the most thorough instructions and the best attitude, like the Bob Ross of leather working. Thank you so much for these tutorials!
Thank you so much for sharing your skills and techniques. I purchased some stones in S. Dakota back in September. Thanks to you, I now know what to do with them.
Just found your channel. I've seen several channels with similar subject matter on YT but yours is by far the best! I especially appreciate how detailed your instructions are and most especially how you call out the exact stamp tool numbers being used. Keep the awesome content coming, sir! Liked, definitely subscribed, and I look forward to your next video! Thank you greatly!
Thank you for sharing this! I enjoy jewelry making and leather crafting. This is perfect! 🙂 I love it when I can combine crafts to make something truly unique. Beautiful job!
Do you use the same size cabichone ? Have you tried multiple stones at once like on a bracelet ? When cutting the edge have you used your finger knife to start ? New subscriber and leather crafter and wondering what kind of market to sell them that you use ?
I use various size stones as I cut my own. Haven't tried multiple stones. I'd cut leather with any knife I had access to. I mostly sell on etsy. Hope this answers your questions, sorry it took so long to reply, haven't been getting notifications from youtube.
Sorry it's taken so long for a reply, youtube has quit sending me notifications on comments. As far as where to get stones online, that a good question, I've bought from Fire Mountain Gems, I haven't had any problems with them, but I've seen bad reviews. Rio Grande jewelry supply is good but expensive. Before I started cutting my own stones, I was buying from several several stone cutters on instagram. dillionhartman, jeremysmithturquoise, blackbirdcabs. These are great cutters, but cut to get the most from the stone and their cabs are not calibrated, so you would have to make your own templates to use their stones. There are a lot of others on instagram. I've even bought from China and India, and while I never had any problems other than long delivery times, be aware there are scammers selling fake stones. so be careful!
Hmm, I was able to print it just fine, the problem is on your end. You might try downloading it and opening with a pdf reader such as Adobe Acrobat or any other pdf reader. Hope this helps!

Me too... but I try to figure out who "deserves" the hardest work😊. That may sound... like I'm human.❤

You're welcome
I use Q-tips for everything too. Lol
I’ve tried this several times but I keep getting lines all over the place when I use the spoon around the cabochon!! What size spoon do you use!!!
What ounce leather is best for these?

Could this be incorporated into a Cowboy Hat Band?
Absolutely! I haven't done a hat band but have done wrist cuffs with a stone embedded. Hat band would be kool!
I wonder if a hangnnail\cutical naiil clippers wouldn't be useful for those little chads(?)
I really want to make this, how thick is your leather and the type of leather??
2 pieces 4-5 oz veg tan leather
I laminate on paper.
What thickness of leather is this
Do you still have a link to the pattern? The one in the description doesn’t work 😢
What size is the cabachon
22x30mm
Is there a reliable online store to get the stones from?

Why won't the link work. I've clicked several times and it won't bring it up.
I would like to try your pattern - but I can't get it to print! The file downloads but it will not print - no matter what I do! Can you help please?

The link to the pattern is not working
I couldn't get the free pattern.
