COBRA KAI takes place over 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament with the continuation of the inescapable conflict between Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka).
Following the shocking results of the All Valley Tournament, Season 5 finds Terry Silver expanding the Cobra Kai empire and trying to make his "No Mercy" style of karate the only game in town. Chozen was the highlight of this season hands down. And I’m glad Tori finally redeemed herself, I was definitely rooting for her.

Agreed. Chozen has actually turned out to be my favorite part of Cobra Kai. He really shouldn’t have lost in any capacity to Terry Silver but I guess it’s dem-explainable since he and Johnny showed up drunk and Barnes was on literal drugs. TFW Chozen basicallyhas Terry Silver beaten after a night of Long Island Iced teas before he turns his back/attention that one second lol.
Chozen was hilarious in this season. It was cool seeing Barnes again. Seeing him as a helpful furniture salesman was a twist. Sato held a major grudge, but he was a strong believer in honor. It’s gonna be interesting to see more of that backstory develop about that other sensei.
They could have used more Barnes specially how he still so bad ass in the end fight they hardly used him

I think season 6 will most definitely happen. People want to see the tournament and what happens to Kreese. All the things you mentioned in your video are other reasons why season 6 will happen as they need to wrap those plots up.

Love how they had great writes to respected the old but adapted it with new characters and some modern social undertones without shoving it in our faces. ❤️well done!
Star Wars did not completely fail, some of the new stuff is good, especially The Mandalorian series.
Star Wars was saved by Favreau and Filoni. It was better off being a series. Well its an opinion if you dont like Favreau's involvement. But Star wars saga is far better in the hands of Favreau and Filoni. Also the KK saga stood the test of time and there were such good characters in the beginning. Not to take away anything from the writers. But it was genius of them to take leaves out of the original and created something new and unique.

Yeah honestly that’s my least favorite part about the season. Barnes shouldn’t have even been in the last battle and don’t get me wrong, I’m fine with him being there but 1. He came out of nowhere after it had already been at least a couple days and 2. He gets knocked out immediately with a single strike even though he’s literally supposed to be one of the toughest guys on the show but meanwhile, every character and their mom can eat like a hundred shots and still fight. Johnny In the same episode gets bludgeoned by 4 masters for like 10 minutes while Barnes is knocked out and he still doesn’t go down. I couldn’t believe Barnes was literally zero help and I couldn’t believe they didn’t have him wake up and help Johnny win. He could’ve even still had his family moment.

John Hurwitz said in a tweet in July 2022: "All I can say is that we expect more Cobra Kai to come and that the Miyagiverse is far from finished.” There are also hopes to create a number of spin-offs, bringing.
And Macchio already hinted that footage exists for future seasons. So I don't think Cobra Kais ending anytime soon.

8:25 He didn't use Silver's techniques, he only used Silver's philosophies against him, but Daniel did them the way Mr. Miyagi would, the honorable way, no treachery:
1.) Man can't stand, He can't fight: Daniel simply held him down instead of breaking his legs as Silver would do to disrupt the opponent's vertical base.
2.) Man can't breathe, He can't fight: Daniel used a clean blow to the chest to achieve the effect, whereas silver would have gone for the windpipe, etc.
3.) Man can't see, He can't fight: Silver would have gouged the eyes or something, whereas Daniel simply took advantage of Silver momentarily taking his eyes off him to arm himself with the trophy.
Well put. This might be a sign of what's to come and the possible rehabilitation of Cobra Kai in the future seasons.
The punch Silver taught Kenny was hardly a simple punch to the chest, and it had the same affect, he also brought out the lead pipe dummy.
For me, the highlight of season 5 was the humor. There were some hilarious lines, especially from Johnny and Chozen, that caught me off-guard and was a wonderful surprise. As far as season 6 goes, a lot of what was said makes sense as I expect Kreese to join Kim and I also think Kreese will gain revenge on Silver in some way. Also, will Julie Pierce return? What about Dutch? Those are really the only characters remaining from the original movies that we haven't seen return yet. As far as season 6, I think it's the last season and I believe Robbie and Sam win the tournament, Johnny and Carmen have their baby and get married and I also think we will see Chozen and Kumiko get together and perhaps get married.

I think Dutch will return and reveal himself as tori's father and maybe Julie will return as a sensei in the final fight against Kim and kreese, as a karateka-cousin of Daniel (meaning that they trained under the same sensei "miyagi" but in different times.) And maybe we also can see the return of Mike Barnes in season 6, as he is as motivated as anyone else to finally kill Silver.
IIRC, Chad McQueen (Dutch) was already asked to return a few seasons ago and declined. Has no interest in returning to acting.
I'm thrilled to have seen Johnny, Chozen, AND Mike all fight together (mostly... mike 🙄)
Chozen is the man. He stole the show. I'd watch a Chozen spin off.
He was a liiiiiitle too lap doggy at first. But it grew into more a realization of him genuinely being happy to have reclaimed his honor and to have real friends. He better be back for all of season 6 (and 7 and 8 and 27) and get Kumiko over here too.
Bringing in Silver as the big bad was brillant. He was terrific.
There wasn't much drama with misunderstandings and whatnot. Robby and Miguel are brothers now. It was great. Best series I think I've ever seen. It was always GOOD but it's finally really SATISFYING too seeing all the favorite characters getting along and working together. Can't end now. I need more of that.
I felt season 5 was the best so far not just the story but everyone’s acting was boosted. It really was an incredible season to watch. It was also a breath of fresh air compared to season 4 witch in some ways was a rehash or continuous from season 3. I really don’t know what season 6 can do to top this incredible season but am very excited to find out. The video was very enjoyable thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Honestly I didn’t rily like this season as much as previous. Yes the ending was the best one by far. The suspense and plot this season was rily good. But I kind of disliked how fast paced it was. Idk why Netflix has this thing where they need to have shows be 8-10 episodes per season. Yes it’s convenient but if there’s more that’s fine too? If it would have taken longer I think we could have waited (ST fans wait longer lol). I just feel like this season would have been better if it was dragged out a bit.
For instance they literally threw so much. Lawrence having a baby with Miguel’s mom, the Mexico trip with Miguel that I also feel like deserved at least two episodes as he discovered himself again. Even Sam deserved to maybe have a slow join back to fighting. Maybe she comes back after Troy tells/reminds her shes a good fighter.
I also wish Troy and Sam had a slow burn forgiveness. Miguel and Robby took longer to forgive than Troy and Sam- I mean deadass their fight was more petty girl drama than Miguel and Robby, but I still wish they took some time too (tho I did love how they both kicked that sensi lady’s ass lol. Very satisfying. And Sam did hear her out and realize how Troy had it and had a breakthrough).
But I also hated how they handled relationships too? Sam and Miguel broke up then had this weird friend-bf but I secretly love you arc? That once again, maybe could have worked if there were more episodes. I just felt like Sam was being a brat as usual. And I’m most bummed about Robby and Troy. I loved how they started a relationship in season 4, but I hated how suddenly they season starts and they are already bf and gf?? Like hellooo, did the viewers miss the good stuff? They went from having some chemistry and moments to already dating? Felt like we got robbed. And then they broke up before we got used to it then once again, had this weird relationship arc? Idk… I’m just rily underwhelmed about how their relationship became kind of boring once they got together. I liked and still do like them together but we didn’t have any moments of them actually being a couple, it was more implied away from the viewers. Which is sad bc they were my fav couple.
And freaking why didn’t they do something with Samantha’s brother! I was rily hoping he would kick ass by the end, show his own skill? Maybe Danny trains him or Sam? Idk, some sibling bonding? My dude just rily got the short end of the stick. I was kind of interested in his arc then it was thrown out before it begun.
I give this season a 5/10. If it weren’t for the last episode it would be a 3/10 tbh. Had some great moments and highlights but once you finish it and reflect back… you realize so many plot points were poorly dealt with… feels like they made this season before 3 low key… I know the writers said they drafted these seasons from the first one ahead of time. Maybe they should have tweaked it more? Idk…
Season 5 was good but end episode was disappointing, cmon they made silver lose the fight, chozen should’ve been dead and wtf was that jello scene with Kreese? That was so dumb
Season 5 was good. Thought Chozen was a big highlight of the season. He's like our new Mr. Miyagi since he's the nephew to Sato who was best friends turned rivals to Miyagi and was taught by the same teacher as Miyagi. They made Chozen into this loveable character the way the writers did for Johnny. The bad guys of The Karate Kid Part I & II are now loveable fan favorites. Perhaps more beloved than Daniel!
Johnny as a ride-share and food delivery driver was downright hilarious! I can relate since I've delivered for DoorDash for 5.5 years. Johnny with no shame eating customers' food. I like how more ruthless they made Terry. Even gave a little more character development and background story for Kreese. It was overall a good season. But it might also be one of the weakest seasons Cobra Kai ever had. Perhaps the weakest since maybe Season 2 which I still thoroughly enjoyed especially having the best season finale.
Too many over-the-top moments. Same jokes being retreaded or didn't quite land like in Thor: Love And Thunder. I found the first half of Cobra Kai's S5 to be rather weak. Spent two episodes with Miguel's father that kinda went nowhere. I thought Sam wanting a timeout with Miguel felt rather pointless. Sam is just a confused girl or her character makes us viewers confused what she really wants.
Daniel with his "should I fight or don't fight?" dilemma again. Johnny trying to make Robby and Miguel become friends with role play was also pretty dumb. I did enjoy the Young Guns II reference and the Bon Jovi song playing. Same with the Top Gun dream reference that Carmen had. It did explore more interesting topics like what if Johnny became a father again? How Amanda separated from Daniel for a bit until her cousin, Jessica, explained to her how terrible Terry is. How an old man like Kreese gets picked on in prison.
I thought the season finale was good as it took elements from S2 and S3. But c'mon! Terry Silver looked so beatable against Daniel. I know he just fought Chozen and beaten him. Weakened his energy. But it looked so lopsided. And is Terry dying from a disease or something? He went to the hospital for a reason and talked about he isn't afraid to die. Talked about never having children and wants Cobra Kai to be his legacy. At least we did get our Chozen vs. Terry fight and it was bloody!
Overall, I give S5 an 8/10. That's still a good score as I don't have any season lower than an 8. Having Mike Barnes and Jessica Andrews was awesome for KK3 fans and for the lore. Maybe the first half for me was only a 7/10 but it got stronger by the second half. I actually dig the addition of Kim Da-Eun. I also like Johnny's story arc trying to be a good man since he's expected to have another child with Carmen. Even like his interaction with his ex, Shannon. How Robby, Miguel, and Hawk are finally cool with each other.
I do think at some point this series needs to end or it ends up like The Walking Dead where most people started tuning out after Season 7. Maybe have spin-offs centered around the kids? Writing can only be good for so long. The series needs an endgame to end the series beautifully instead of ending it as bad as LOST and Game of Thrones with no sense of direction. Or maybe it ends at Season 5? Seems like everyone is in a good place.
Everyone seems cool with each other. Silver is going to prison. Kreese escapes it but will he really be a threat? What villain is out there to keep this show going? Miguel's dad with a bunch of MMA fighters? If S5 is the final one, I'd be okay with it. But Billy Zabka has confirmed there will be a Season 6 and it won't be the final one. They want to end it with a movie and even do a Mr. Miyagi prequel. I applaud these people for making the Miyagi-verse awesome.

I mostly agree with you, but I also think the world tournament has to happen, there has to be an end to Kreese's arc (including his personal backstory with Kim now that she's in the picture) and even Tori's arc should be concluded in a more satisfactory way I think.
I think they should introduce the girl from the next karate kid. Also, if they want to incorporate elements from the 2010’s reboot karate kid movie with jayden smith that would be cool too. Imagine if the big bad from jaydens smith karate kid becomes the villain and jackie chan’s mr. Migayi meets daniel. What a crossover!

@@dericjames2018 Thank you. I actually have a Question, cause I know some things regarding ages have been hinted at with 1 being confirmed I believe in Season 3 (?), but... Season 1 shown a school year, Season 2 was all of Summer break, ending in The first day of the new school year, Season 3 was another school year, and Season 4 showcased a Prom. Season 5 was confirmed to be a Summer Break Season, similar to Season 2. So... Was the Season 4 Prom, Junior Prom? Is Season 5 the Summer before Senior Year? We didn't have any Graduation Scene in Season 4, and I don't think Graduation was really mentioned at all on Season 4, except maybe 1 time. I'm just trying to think what could be the future past Season 5. The All Valley Tournament, is an UNDER 18, tournament not 18 and younger, it's purely Under 18, and along with the confirmed Sekai Taikai World Tournament Arc coming up, im wondering if we would get another All Valley, and who could even compete?

I think season 6 will be the last season as things are wrapping up with the tournament , Kreese and also that most character arcs are done. However, I do think we will have origin stories and spin offs for years to come

@@FlicksAndTheCity UA-camr watch party revealed that in the '80s Robert Mark Kamen wrote out a whole movie about the beginnings and Lore of Miyagi do and turned it into the studio he wanted to get it filmed for and they rejected it saying that they wanted a movie that was condensed and that began the first film we now know as karate Kid 1... So what he ended up doing was scrapping bits of script keeping some of it and incorporating it with the other two films... They told him to write an underdog story so he put some of his lifes story into Daniel LaRusso and Mr Miyagi in the first film...
Years later we have the three directors of Cobra Kai and they went back to him and they learned that and honored what he originally wanted to do that's why throughout the series we see some of the lore of Miyagi do and Cobra Kai
I believe it will on to season 8 then there will be a tournament because there was a tournament in season 1 and it took 3 to 2 season to get to the next one so yeah

Definetly needed more Mike Barnes, Johnny's chemistry with Chozan was so good and surprising but Mike and Johnny seemed underutilized.

I think Mike Barnes could be a possibility for a more modified Cobra Kai at series end (I do think Kreese takes back the dojo and the whole “stopping fights” stuff was a ploy to get out)
However, I could see Lawrence and Barnes being co-senseis at Eagle Fang instead at series end

I personally think them taking up the mantle of Cobra Kai and reforming it would be an awesome way to end the show. It would actually be a great way to honor Mr. Miyagi by using his lessons to change something that was bad into something good
That’s what I think is going to happen. I think they enter the Sekai Taikai as Cobra Kai and in the end, Johnny gets control of it.
It'd also give them an excuse for keeping Chosen, Barnes (his small S5 input was cool, like to see more of him) and even bring Julie in, as extra sensei's for the different dojo's. all to team up against Kreese and Kim in Korea.

Nah, they already have Miyagi Do. Cobra Kai being run by Daniel and them would just be awkward. Maybe having Jonny Lawrence run it, but then again, he's an eagle fang now.
With Kreese escaping out of jail something tells me this will result in the charges on Silver to be dropped. If it's just Stingrays word against Silver with no other evidence it may not be a strong enough case to bring down Silver in court. Silvers lawyers could definitely argue this. This could be a starting plot point for Season 6(which I assume will be the last season.) We need to see the tournament obviously plus we need endings to Kenny and Kreeses story. Maybe, Silver makes a desperate last attempt and recruits a bunch of kids from South Korea to fight in the tournament. There's plenty of ways they can take this to end this series on a highnote.

I do see a possibility where Silver is locked up though and Cobra Kai is retaken by Kreese, who gets Kenny and Kyler back, along with Devon, and a few others, and they have a spirited fight like S1 Cobra Kai but fall short

I loved this series. My wife and I started out wanting to just watch one show, but ended up watching the whole series in one night. I loved the way they tied everything together and tied the whole thing up for this season. I felt like the arc this series was completed and in so many ways the arc of the Karate Kid with Daniel showing some real skill and being able to stand on his own (finally), but knowing that the whole story was not yet done. I loved the part that Chozen played and I look forward to them expanding his story during the next series.
I can see a spin-off with one of the side characters like maybe Chozen opening his own dojo.

One more season. Hillary Swank. End of story. Loved Jessica and Barnes in 5. They can come up with a storyline where Daniel finds out Miyagi taught another American besides him and seeks her out to help with the world tournament. The series can't get a 100% satisfaction without Swank. It's imperative to a fulfilling conclusion. If she agrees they definitely will make season 6. Right now it's up in the air.
We don’t need anything from the next karate kid. It was a truly abominable movie and most true KK fans have erased it from memory.
PLEASE NO! That was the worse Karate Kid in the season and that includes the remake! I'm glad she hasn't made an appearance in the series. I don't even consider The Next KK canon. That's how much I loathe the movie. lol If I'm being honest though, it would be cool, but I just don't see how they can make her fit into the show. Everyone that has appeared have ties to the valley. Julie doesn't. She's from Boston and I think it's just too much writing to make her fit in. Did she keep in contact with Miyagi, did she stay in Boston, did she follow in her grandfather's footsteps and join the military, did she become aware of Miyagi's passing. Someone else from the valley would have made contact with her somehow and you would have to tell how Miyagi told Daniel about her and etc... Does Daniel seem the kind of person who would stay in touch with anyone he's never met? Mr. Miyagi didn't have much friends in the valley... Sure, it's possible, but I don't see how she can contribute to the story. Did she continue to practice after Miyagi left? A cameo... sure and leave it at that.

Another brilliant season I thought by the team at Cobra Kai! Absolutely loved the journey that we have seen with Daniel, Johnny and Chozen coming together to fight the cause! All offer different aspects but together have become quite the bond I never expected!! It was amazing to see the relationship develop also between Miguel and Robbie in a more positive way! It's almost like they are brothers now with the addition of a new family member joining the family too!! Was great to see some of the karate kid 3 cast members get a cameo too in Jessica and Mike and the nostalgia scenes that it brought with it also!! Can't wait to see what next season has in place with Silver behind bars and Kreese back on the outside again!!
favourite part was what i thought was a My cousin Vinny reference in episode 8 i think, where Daniel ,Johnny were visiting kreese in prison and when told he could get a a better lawyer kreese said " I don't want one of your greasy cousins "

The best thing about this show is it always leaves u wanting more and the final fight sequences are insane and after each season they out do the next it's just hard bc in this season finally we got 2. I wish the Mike Barnes character was in more of the show and had more screen time
Season 6 will be about the tournament but I doubt cobra kai will be in it after being exposed for cheating however in the tournament they may encounter foreign practitioners of Kim sum- Yung's style in the tournament. Not sure how Kreese will come into play though however he will be involved somehow.

I truly think that Cobra Kai will definitely end in season 6. I cannot think of anything else to drag out the series even more. I think that Kreese will be the final antagonist in the series as a complete whole. Silver was pretty much the main enemy, but I think that they want Kreese as their last antagonist. However I don't think that Johnny and Daniel will actually be Cobra Kai themselves. Because Kreese IS Cobra Kai. I think the way that this is gonna turn out, is that if Kreese ever wins the Sekai Taikai tournament, I think he wouldn't take Cobra Kai global and just have Cobra Kai as one location, and Kreese not being as merciless, while Eagle Fang, Miyagi-Do, and Cobra Kai, being done separately. In other words, there will always be Cobra Kai, but it's not going to be like Terry Silver's Cobra Kai. Either they have that, or they will have the same deal as before from season 3. If Kreese loses, he shuts down, but if Daniel and Johnny lose, they shut down. This time, no more cheating.
I disagree. I think for the kids to win the biggest tournament in the world on the first try would really cheapen the experience. It's one thing to be the best in a small area like the valley. Where no never really took martial arts all to seriously in several decades until Jonny restarted Cobra Kai, so there was never any major competition because the kids all had similar levels of experience (well mostly anyways). However to automatically dominate a tournament against all sorts of fighters, from around the world, in just one go? That would kind of ruin it for me, and many others I think.
There can always be new villains and new dramas, but to pretend that there is no further room for growth for the kids, that they've become the best in the world in a couple of years of doing karate? No, there's no way. Plus I don't think we've seen the last of Miguel's dad, who had connections to underground MMA sports (since that really had little to no pay off). I think as the video pointed out Terry Silver probably isn't done yet, he's got money & lawyers to keep him out of jail, aside from w/e Kreese & Kim Da-Eum are going to be doing. I can't imagine they wrap it all up in ten 35 minute episodes. There's at least another 2 or 3 seasons here I believe, but I suppose we'll see how it plays out.

What made the end of 5 so good was it was hilarious, that was classic Kreese with a Silence of the lamb twist… I laughed for 15 minutes with the music and the twist, good ending and a Frank Sinatra tune balanced it out. Pretty good

I liked the 5th season so much I stayed up till 4 this morning trying to finish it. Excellent. I think they should wrap it all up with one more season and leave a legacy of something truly special for all time. How they walk the line between *Over The Top Lame* and *That Was Perfect* I do not know, but I love it. :D

Silver most likely will get a continuance as far as his court case goes. He’ll be free on bail and there might be strings to it or not. He’ll most likely get revenge on Daniel, Johnny, Chozen, Mike and his students who betrayed him.
Also, Sensei Kim still has ownership stake in Cobra Kai so she’ll bring in her own students from Korea.

All can say is creators did say had enough material for 7 seasons, that was back during season 3 though, so I imagine either end it with season 6, or they do season 7.
As much love this series i prefer they end it sooner than later, cause series tend drag on to long start lose their substance.

I think Season 6 will happen, but I also think it will be the final season. I'm guessing Kreese will join forces with Kim and gather her students from Korea to fight in the tournament, and that will be the final showdown. I don't see where else the show can go though, given how almost every other conflict was (finally) laid to rest this season.
I think a longer, two part season 6 would be a good idea. It seems like there is still a lot to tie up. Johnny's kid, possibly getting married, Terry Silver's ultimate fate, a final karate tournament, Chozen and Kumiko, Kreese and his payback on Silver, etc. I also think there needs to be some closure between Kreese and Johnny Lawrence. I think Johnny will somehow get Cobra Kai back and make it his own again and Kreese will want it that way. The show is called Cobra Kai after all.
And I am sure given the present state of Netflix that they are in no hurry to lose one of their only "sure thing" hit shows that generates a lot of excitement and enthusiasm from fans. And they haven't even used "You're the Best" in any karate scenes yet.
I feel that they can make Miguel's dad, the super villain.
The Last piece of Miyagi-do would be to bring back Hillary Swank for season 6.
Perhaps to set up a new spin-off?

I love season 5, I hope season 6 wont be the last season, I look forward the love story of Chozen and Kumiko and the Sekai taikai international tournament,
Season 5 was the best season so far. I know all good things must eventually come to an end but it's been fun watching the subtle call backs throughout the series 5 seasons and remembering those movies as a kid. The Barns arc was a fun little twist this season and it was fun watching the story develop between Daniel, Chozen, Johnny and Barnes. I'm curious to see if Barnes sticks around for season 6. I'd to see the series continue for as long as they can continue to write fun stories. That's just my 2 cents though.
Some great moments in this season--not only seeing more of Chozen's character, but also him and Johnny together might be my new favorite thing. I thought Barnes was a one-and-done appearance but in the finale when he jumped from the driver's seat in the party limo I nearly lost my shit! Another great blend of action, laughs, and suspense. Wouldn't mind more seasons if 6 doesn't wrap things up!
It was weird that Barnes blamed Daniel for the fire and even weirder that it took him less than 5 seconds of conversation to then be with Daniel.
I hope to see Chozen and Kumiko build a relationship in season 6!!!

I don't think so. There's no reason for it. The only reason Miguel was written to want to find his real father was all so that he would, in the end, see that his true father was with him the whole time, that being Johnny. Plus, Hector seems pretty set in his ways and doesn't seem to have any interest in fixing the past as he stated that he doesn't regret anything. Johnny is Miguel's dad, that's what the arc was about. That's what Miguel needed to see. Miguel was heartbroken after seeing his father for the evil man he is and in that moment of despair, Johny showed up to be the dad that Miguel needs. That is the point.

He's just a way for Miguel to realize that his true father was with him all along. Plus, Hector doesn't even do Karate so in the KK world, he doesn't fit in much. He doesn't even know someone related to Karate. I think that short arc was fine. Miguel learned what he needed to know and now he and Robby are on equal terms and getting along. That's what's important. Hector is no longer important. If they kept him in the story, he would just be clutter and drama for the sake of drama.
i just wonder who will be a threat to the squad with cobra kai gone and most likely kyler and kenny being gone. everyone else is on the same team. I know its been said that dre from karate kid (2010) would not be in cobra kai, but if this is the biggest tournament in the WORLD... idk i cant help but see this a perfect opportunity to bring dre or cheng at the very least.

Cobra Kai can end with a season 6 tournament saga, and a movie as a coda...before preparing for spin-offs with the characters like the Binary Brothers where karate is there, but not the focus, just part of their skill set.
Binary Bros: The Series would be great. Stingray gives them Johnnys car and they travel from town to town solving mysteries and kicking arse like in Kung Fu.

Cavaliers: Robby and Miguel in college with Sam and Tory and the others managing their post-karate rivalry life, applying the philosophy they learned and their own towards tough teen and young adult situations rather than the fighting skills (but still plenty of time to kick ass).
Cobra Kai Origins: Young Kreese and Silver after the Vietnam War and before the original Karate Kid.
Season 6 will be the final season but I dont at the end of it they will be able to eliminate Cobra Kai's legacy cause " Cobra kai never dies!"

The only dojo that Danny and Johnny were both a part of was Cobra Kai. So that will be the name that replaces Miyagi-do and Eagle Fang. And it also goes with the show’s major theme that bad can reformed to good.

Season 6 ... We need a scene where Chozen visits Miyagi and bows to his headstone. I would also like a scene where Daniel visits Miyagi and he sees Julie leaving flowers at the grave. They speak a little and Julie says that Miyagi had an impact on her life
I love the idea of Johnny and Daniel's new Do-Jo being Cobra kai.
Oh, I think there'll be a season 6, even though I fully got the impression that this was a finale if there ever was one. But Robby hasn't had his moment, yet. Neither have Demetri or Devon Lee. Kreese and Kim Da-Eun are still out there, and the new tournament is wide open. Feel like Kenny hasn't really had his moment yet, either. Got the impression with Johnny drinking a White Claw that they were hinting that would be a name they either want fans to think about or are thinking about themselves for the dojo. Could also be misdirection, as the writers of this show are VERY good about knowing when and where to subvert expectations and where not to. But the finale was written in such a way that if there is no season 6, it still feels like everything was wrapped up in a satisfactory way. And I really want to see more of both Thomas Ian Griffith and Sean Kanan. Mike was definitely a highlight every brief moment he was on screen this season, especially the opening moments of the final episode where we got to see the one moment I've wanted to see from this show.
Everyone can't have "their moment". That's like saying every wish Screech would have had the chance to be crowned Home Coming King, although he did make Valedictorian, but gave it to Jessie. By the time they let everyone "shine" they've all graduated college by then. Think about the timeline and their ages. They're already seniors and it's called "The Under 18 All Valley"

And in terms of aging out of the roles, Ralph Macchio was 27 years old when he filmed Karate Kid Part III. The younger generation of Cobra Kai are all already aged out of the roles in that sense, also. And they're talking one more season, not an ongoing series. They'll be as fine in a S6 as they were in S5.

Best season yet! I've been predicting the merging of the two dojo's since Johnny started Eagle Fang. I do not believe at all that they will take the Cobra Kai name. It's got too much baggage to "rehabilitate" and that wouldn't leave room for Kreese and Sensei Kim to bring Cobra Kai to the tournament. I think Kim and Kreese get back most of the Cobra Kai students saying that they knew nothing about Silver's deception and disassociate from him, but promise to bring all of them to another level, etc. I do hope though they come up with a better name than "Miyagi Fang". I think it needs to be something that suits them both, but is brand new. Something like "Bōgyo to Kōgeki" Karate which literally means "Defense and Attack" in Japanese.

I don't know how they do it, but they continue to raise the bar and knock each season out of the park. Season 5 was phenomenal!!!!!! Can't wait for season 6. I do think season 6 should end the series though. Go out on a high note.

I give it 2-3 more seasons before it's completely over. They did wrap a lot up this season, but they still left some unanswered questions, some of which have lots of outcomes, and all which can be used in the series still.

I feel like chosen has grown into a Myagi like role. And could see a spinoff. Also I'm thinking that the reason they haven't come up with a new is because I think that the new name will close the book on Kobra kai and transition the new name into a new series that will take place in Japan or Korea. Maybe exploring Chosen past along with him and kumiko. Or it could all lead into the next karate kid story ark and bring in Hilary swank character
At first it seemed that this would be the second to last season... most was wrapped up but a few loose ends need to be addressed... mainly with what Kreese is gonna do, will Chozen and Kumiko hook up... etc...
And that it will take some time for Kreese to exact a plan given that those who break our of prison need to lay low... this will allow the next season to take place perhaps a couple years in the future which is necessary as there are so many early 20s actors playing teenagers...
But of course... what's the twist that's coming?
And here's what it is...
Barnes has been in league with Silver the whole time!
As the writers like to invert the original movies, this fits perfectly. Silver pretended to be on Daniel's side to lure him into the fight with Barnes. Barnes pretended to be on Daniel's (and Johnny's and Chozen's) to lure them into the fight with Silver (and company).
But what's the actual evidence for this...
1. How did Barnes know that that Daniel and company rented a limo via Louie's hook up and went out clubbing?
We've seen Silver get out of limos a few times... he likely has connections therein.
2. Silver and Kim don't look surprised when they see the limo crash through the gate.
3. It was Barnes's idea to go immediately to Silver's house... which seems a different one from the one in KK3.
4. Despite Silver's estate being a big one, it would have been 2-3 minutes max from crashing through the gate, until confronting Silver in his living room... and all the other instructors are in the back room waiting for them
5. Barnes appears to be knocked out early on, but if you watch closely he's hit with the vase in the upper back, not the back of the head.
6. When Barnes finally "comes to" and "takes out" the last two standing instructors that are fighting Johnny, he pretty much just pushed them to the ground... not something that would've knocked out or incapacitated anyone... it was some sort of prearrangement just like him apparently being knocked out early on in the fight.
7. Him "stealing" the Rembrandt was his payment from Silver. He likely has insurance to cover his loss of his store and can rebuild it with the insurance payout. But to get money for a stolen painting, he needs a fence, and there's no indication that Barnes would know where to go therein, but Silver would... so Silver paid him in a way that leaves no paper trail.
Miyagi do came from China. So can't forget to bring back Mr. Haan and little Dre.
That would be interesting. Will Smith is a producer on Cobra Kai, so it might be possible, though I imagine they would bring back Julie from KK4 first.

The writers did a phenomenal job. All characters grow and there is enough space for each actor. How do they do it, everybody's story is so much interesting.
