This is what motorcycles are all about. Brings to mind a Tolkien quote... “It's a dangerous business, Frodo, going out your door. You step onto the road, and if you don't keep your feet, there's no knowing where you might be swept off to.” Well done Henry and well bravo Ducati for helping to make it happen. Would you like to sponsor me? I could break the record for most average middle-aged Dad ever to circumnavigate Australia and NZ (doubt I'd manage round the world). Full disclosure: I have zero followers and would influence absolutely no one.
I bought a brand new 2022 Ducati Desert Sled in July and I love it! Videos like this say a lot about the quality of the bike. Yes Ducati cost a lot to maintain but not as much more as people think. So far my bike has been rock solid in every way!
The "desert sled" actually made me consider buying a bike for the first time. Made my researches, but what's stopping me from buying one at the moment, is the bloody price!
The desert sled deff made it easier to choose a bike. Used is probable where to go but their really not terrible new either compared to other new adventure bikes.
very inspirational! im myself back into bikes after 20 years, so many awesome adventure models out this year really hard to choose one, but based on this video leaning towards Triumph scrambler xe.
You don't really need a "big engine" to travel the world. 110cc Honda wave from a Vietnamese biker Khoa Tran has just finished his trip at 84,000 km after 1,111 days around 6 continents.
I believe the water pump went bad and bc I wasn't replaced on time bc he was too far away from a Ducati shop the engine had to be replaced. this is what I think he told me if I remember correctly. he can be reached on instagram and he would answer pretty quickly. he's an awesome and very humble human being
Here’s my =RE= Meteor 350 Supernova. Built in India. Purchased 2021 September. 16,000 km on the CB clock (Sep 2022) NO PROBLEM! Perfect beginner bike for a novice biker. 72 year old double TKR survivor:

How you drive around the world without setting foot in Africa 😅 i guess Africa is not part of the world 🤷🏾♂️ anyway the Scrambler Desert Sled is fantastic 🤩 imma saving to get mine
Much respect Henry, I have a 2019 modified for touring. I found your videos after I got mine, & you make me smile.
do you have any videos showing your 2019 Desert Sled with the touring mods you mentioned? Would love to see it!

You certainly got my attention. Atrip around Australia is a good start. Imagine, no passport needed.
Don't we get to see the whole vlog ??? I wanna see how Desert Sled did around the world
Is there not more footage of this guys trip?

This video didn't mention that he had to change the engine mid-way through the trip.

Get it used then!

lol same!!!! it's what made me go and get the driver license to ride. love the bike with passion!!!!
I was having a tough decision deciding on which Ducati Scrambler to get, and Henry's helped me make that decision. Desert Sled it is!
Brad Groux you won’t regret it. Throw some engine guards and bark busters on it and enjoy.
@@SilverFox-fq7xi SO? you bought it?
So dope. I’ve been wanting the desert sled, I’m getting it now.
Brilliant well done Henry 👍🏼👌
Exactly what adventure bike is all about.
Small but capable on/off road with maximum luggage behind
Thank you! Best Video! 👍🏼

Woow, absolutely great, bike and travel. I always dreamed about it.
Good luck mate.
Nice Bike!!..Well done!!
I love this bike bro my fev bike
Hope you will share with us all your videos on your trip. I would love to see that... hoping and praying. Hehehe
One day I will do the same!😎
How many times did you have to do valve check and belt replacement? Cheers
I lov that it's air-cooled
Glad you went east, one year of driving into the sun at dusk would do my fkn head in!
Epic human 🤟
So cool
But did he travel through Africa? Or at least South Africa?
What about the engine that was replaced???
Desert sled is my next bike
Bravo.
More footage of your trip would be greT
Henry... I hope you get your bike back...
Hi Henry, how many liters of oil did it take or you stopped counting? Thx, jan - proud sled owner
The GS issue: you fall, you stay fallen.
The best adventure motorcycle is the one you already own, just take it off the garage and go!
That said, I just finished Europe's longest road on a Monster 796 😂
Agree, but no wind protection on such a journey? always below 60mh right?
80 mph are not too much without fairing
@@klosterheim66 I've been in that situation and found that 70mph is my confort limit. Also seems to be for harley riders (no fairing)
In 90% of the countries you will never drive faster.
How did you overxome the 14 liter limit of the fuel tank?
I guess he filled it up when it was nearly empty.
Pretty obvious
Is the wind visor OEM Ducati? If not can you share the brand?
I think it's a motodemic
Cool

Awesome
Some do it on a bicycle.
The idea that you need an adventure bike is moronic.
Did he have to perform any major engine servicing while in the wild? Aka valve adjustments?

@yrrah89 the bike doesn't have a water pump it's air/oil cooled.
Start manufacturing this bike in India it will reduce manufacturing cost surprisingly
it will reduce Quilty too and who wants that.
The name “ made in India” will also reduce the sales.

The youngest one to document a ride around the world? Maybe. The youngest rider to actually ride around the worls? no fucking way.
have u ever heard a vietnamese guy travel around the world with his honda 110cc bike.
Es una copia de la XT 500 Yamaha
I’d have one if tank was bigger😀
With money, everything is posible.

I can't understand how anyone can go around the world on a bike? There are oceans.
There are also boats
And ✈️
23? The guy looked 35.
say it!!! please say it!!! bmw gs1200's are just crappy bikes for this kind of trip specially if you're riding solo!
Yes, a Himalayan is better
So that's almost the whole world, you forgot Africa
I wish ducati hired a more smug hipster to do this journey
Seems pretty down to earth to me, haven't heard him say a single negative thing about anyone
Nothing special...thousands of people do it without all this shit
