plat1 zerg here. Been losing 95% of ZvZ and winning 80% again terran and protoss. I would like to thank you PiG for sharing this. This micro and build has helped me a ton with improving! Won 6 straight matches of ZvZ on ladder. Keep it up! Big thanks from norway!
Great stuff! I'm a Diamond 2 and I've been struggling in my ZvZ as of late, and since watching this coaching session I've been focusing on stage 1 of the build (the relentless lingbling with no transition in sight) and I've won 4 straight games. The main "trick" that was new for me was the morphing of the banes pre-spread out, immediately hotkey stealing them to the bane hotkey and then go about micro'ing the lings.
Yeah it makes such a big difference. I'm a little worried I've unleashed a plague of lingbane YOLO on ladder haha. But honestly it's such a big part of ZvZ learning how to do this is so important to stepping into the next phase of the game. Glad to hear it helped mate :)
So true :) Some of my opponents did complain about my play style being so all-in (their words), and I politely apologized and explained I was doing some targeted lingbling micro exercises!
PiG Can we get to stages two and three? Also, how one defends that? With regular pairs of banes on top of ramp? Is that efficient enough? Thanks for the great lesson, PiG!
This vid is just awesome. And funny as well. Got really much from that. Can't wait to try this. At the moment I do not have any ling bane micro experience, but from this I start to understand. Thanks very much! Go on, go on! :D Greetz to Australia!
That french accent, I recognize here a fellow baguette-eater mate :) Very good session, many good advice for viewers as well, I will try practicing that for a few games as well, but more as a way to step into late game more safely than winning outright. Thanks a lot Pig and lilous for sharing this coaching with everyone !
Great vid, as always! For a player who has passable game knowledge, but has issues remembering ideas or things to do in game, any ideas how to hammer home things I need to stay conscious of?
Just try to focus on 1-2 things you're actively trying to improve at a time so you really focus on them and make them 2nd nature. Have a notepad handy to write down your other ideas to put into practice at a later date
Making things second nature as PiG says is best. Try to mentally anchor ideas to one another. When I first started I struggled to remember to tech into hive and keep my upgrades going. I focused on keeping my upgrades as smooth as possible and then I told myself that I will put an infestation pit down when 2-2 finishes. Small stuff like that really helps.
