I like to imagine that the food was never free and she just wasn't realizing that she was stealing the entire time
That’s Mexicans for you…
Very likely.
That’d be funny
Immigrants 😂...also crossing borders
Prolly was free in her own dimension, or it wasnt and she just thought so cuz her parents bought it and since they were gone no one taught her these things
I hate how they just massacred every character in the movie, examples:
The sole reason Strange was named Sorcerer Supreme and not Mordo was that he could think outside of the box and come up with intelligent ideas like in his bargain with Dormammu, in this movie he uses the book he specifically knows can make you evil and does what he specifically knows can cause an incursion.
Wanda turned on Ultron just when she saw he was killing innocents as that was going too far, now she is willing to kill innocent people without any remorse.
Vision, whose name you couldn’t say without mentioning Wanda is not in the movie where he is needed the most, even after being resurrected.
Black Bolt, the man who trained himself to not speak even when asleep tries to scream at the minimum sign of danger.
Reid Richards, the smartest man in the universe goes to a PHYSICAL fight without plan and reveals their biggest weapon.
One of the most powerful telepaths in the world never realizes that strange is telling the truth despide being literally unable to stop reading everyone’s minds.
Wong, who put the life of everyone at Kamar Taj in danger and just saw someone sacrifice herself to destroy the darkhold, guides Wanda to a new one because she tortures some random dudes.
You get the point?
💯👏
The one that bordered me the most was Wong's decision to reveal the dark hold temple location. And this is because Wong has always been a person who follows the rules ALWAYS. If the only way to win a fight is by using some forbidden power, Wong will lose the fight because he won't break the rules. And I believe that Wong would be willing to die and expect other members of his order to do the same before revealing the location of what's basically a WMD.
So having him reveal the location because of some little torture is just not in line with his character.
I didn't even think about the Professor X thing. They never said anything about telepaths having no effect on Dr. Strange. Don't see why he wouldn't be able to read his mind to see the truth.
No cuz that does mean performing recklessly or justify evil deeds with hood intentions. Like using the darkhold. Makes no sense.
BTW... Strange would know of the Vishanti book. Even if his time as Sorcerer Supreme was too short to have read about it in the interval (which I think is already a massive stretch), he'd have read about it later on, as we know from the first Strange movie, he is not exactly bound by the laws of "common" people and will read whatever book he wants. I do not think it possible for him not to have ever heard of the ultimate book of them all...
This Era of multiversing is lazy writing. It's beyond the "what if" scenarios and now "look at my fanfiction, that is the better one!"
The What If cenario was pretty creative in the comics, some awesome stories come of it. The What If Marvel did was so creativelly bankrupt that is laughfable. "What If Starlord was a Black guy, and a absolute messias because I'm a racist." Ridiculous.
Nostalgia bait is already getting old quick.
When you give a "proper" defense for amateurish story, I am not surprise that these newb bumrush the market with their "art".
Don't get me wrong, I support fan fiction writers, amateur and long time writers.
But the moment they just get this false acknowledgement and got all prideful and shit, that's when I draw the line.
When you write something on the fan fiction site, people are free to either acknowledge your skill, gets burned to the ground for your shitty writing and people gets to either maintain, improve or just outright leave.
When it turns into shit like the TV series and "creative adaptation" of other famous media, you can't just go back. It's too big, and the ones who will get involved are all gonna get fucked!
Times of Mediocrity, my man...
@@feliperisseto9113 Yeah. I love parallel universes, Alternative history, and all of that sort of stuff. One thing I wish this movie had done more of was show us more alternate universes.
I don't like multivsrse fiction
It is a zeitgeist I am not a fan of
Personally the scene that keeps playing in my head is the Illuminati vs Scarlet Witch bit. I don’t get how she can take out Mr. Fantastic and Black Bolt in seconds but seems to have more trouble with Carter and Marvel. Not sure what energy blasts and a indestructible frisbee is going to do against reality manipulation. Don’t see why Wanda couldn’t just turn them into silly string.
Well they're women you see.
Because they have the power of the sisterhood. It's very rude to do that to another woman.
Playing with the food? Notice how the most dangerous persons was eliminated almost immediately
Captain Marvel is strong and Cap always has a lot of plot armor, seems it's working even in other universes
@@jab9109 This is like if Cap had stepped up to Thanos and swapped hands with him for five minutes.
In Infinity War, Thanos punched him once, and he went down.
As for Captain Plank.
The less time we have to experience her, the better.
So many hilarious moments in this movie. The flash back store, stabbing a book to death, the bee backstory, the worlds smartest man is actually a complete idiot, etc.
I rolled my eyes when the smartest man alive told her about his friend's superpower. It is like they forgot she can warp reality.
One thing both EFAP and Shad missed here, is during the fight between captain marvel vs Wanda - its implied that Wanda is draining Captain Marvel powers. - you see in the scene just before she drops the statue, that her helmet and arm armour is stripping off towards Wanda.
ua-cam.com/video/KdWo2f2m9WQ/v-deo.html
This might explain why the statue killed her, otherwise everything else seems on point. :)
@@himayamata the Wanda in their universe probably doesn't have that power, this is implied by the fact that the Illuminati was lot concerned about Wanda, since their Wanda is much weaker than 616 Scarlett witch Wanda
Total crap! Highly Disappointing!
@@michaelstone9065 yeah that doesn't make it good, it just makes wanda even more op and her powers even more inconsistent
Wanda can do anything she wants and re-write reality completely... except "magic" her kids into existence apparently.
No no, you see?
It's the Darkhold's fault!
Except she literally can magic her kids into existence. She only knows about her kids because she magiced them in to existence in Wandavision. She could have literally just done Wandavision again.
@@viperstriker4728 which was my point. The writers completely ignored that simple fact.
@@mrjrb561 or you know, have kids like a normal woman?

When I saw Chavez I made two guesses.
1. She became a thing after 2016.
2. The creator of her I'm sure is a very healthy, mentally well looking person.
On the first one I was kinda right. Her first appearance was in 2011 but really only became a thing in 2017.
On the second guess well she was created by two guys back in 2011 but her 2017 comic book was written by a Gabby Rivera whom I googled then clicked "Images".
@@ShagadelicBY Gabby's its so different you can assume is a new character.
Originally she was pretty decent character, she was Bi and not a lesbian. She wasn't heavy handed or anything like that. As the comics went on she got progressively worse until it was just garbage.
I can't think of her without hearing Richard Meyer's impression of her, he would do this latina valley girl voice while quoting her comics and it just killed me every time. He built a whole youtube channel around it.
She was a character that was definitely made during Marvel’s attempt to push identity politics.
Which is why nobody liked her and the comics industry crashed and burned.

The missed opportunities to have different Dr. Stranges have different spells and techniques is insane.
You could then have "Our" Dr. Strange be clever by copying and adapting those new powers for a satisfying final battle.
Nah this is actually a bad take. Dr strange used more types of magic in this movie than all his others combined, people hype up what he did to thanos so hard he did literally nothing. Iron man did more!
@@georgeaguilar3414 What. I'm talking about how the special effect are boring and uncreative. Wanda has the power to warp reality.
Why can't she turn Vision into a human???
What do you expect from the writer of Loki and Rick and Morty.
Also why didn’t Vision show up in this movie?
Where was he the entire time? Locked in the bathroom so he wouldn’t “have children” with this crazy woman?
@@NathanCassidy721 Yeah. That's actually a red flag for me. Lol.

If one of the kids gets sick(with a disease nobody in this universe can heal) just go to whatever universe chavez is in and use her as a taxiservice.
What I hate the most - is that when Wanda eventually returns, everyone is going to say "you made the right move Wanda, it's all water under the bridge. You did nothing wrong"
just like how they swept all the horrible things she did in WandaVision under the rug.... Which I just noticed, if that really was to set up her villain role for MoM, then WHY did no one chastise her for what she did!?!? - yeah the SWORD guy was against her, but then they made him a villain, while everyone else supported Wanda. I think Wanda wasn't meant to be the true villain for this movie, that or they really need to have better continuity and payoff.
this movie might have killed any interest I have in future MCU projects. I had high hopes and was immensely let down by it
I’m not sure why everyone thinks she is still a hero. Losing her husband and discovering her children weren’t real, drove her insane in the comics, and she became a villain. Copying of the stories by screenplay hacks screw it up a lot, like usual, but she is not a hero
@@wraithmoor5231 it doesn't matter what happend in the comics, she is a hero in the MCU, that is why wandavison is so bad, don't try to conflate wanda from the comics to the MCU, they are not the same.

Another thing that's sad about how they let the Scarlet Witch go wild with her powers is that they nerfed some of the coolest characters before this, like Hulk and Vision. If you tally which characters they generally make powerful and competent and which they don't, it's pretty telling
gasp! u notice obvious patterns? how dare you mysoginist!
She is still nerfed compared to her comicbook version. She has not done anything like removing the mutant gene from like 95% of earths population.
Boyz Vs Girlz! No girlz allowed!
@@jaketheberge1970 I'm sure she can't just always do that
@@xL0stKIlah I think she was only able to do that after Dr Doom screwed with her powers.
29:00 It was at this point that I noticed that all the male characters would take one shot and either be incapacitated or killed in a brutal way, while all the female characters not only put up more of a fight, but also were not shown to be explicitly killed. Like we saw the shield go to cut Carter and the blood thereafter, but you didn't see her die like Mr. Fantastic or Tuning fork-guy and the same thing with Captain Marvel
You see Carter's top half fall over and Captain Marvel get crushed. There's also another female character who gets charred to a crisp in a prior scene, and Professor X managed to break into Wanda's mind.
What movie did you watch?
@@jjtheenton you don't see marvel get crushed and carter's top half falling off is obscured. and the chick who gets burnt to a crisp was destroying a fucking multiversal object and had a single tear run down her charred face.
Let me make this very clear. There is an obvious theme shared by these events. If you can't see it, you either don't want to or you're a few screws short of a tool box.. Get your shit together.
who do you you voodoo?
@@jjtheenton I will give you that the girl did destroy a multi-universal grimoire with a freaking dagger and her death was shown, but at the same time it would've made a 1000x more sense if the sorcerer supreme broke out of his bonds for a moment and destroyed the book. The girl in herself was a meguffin and the sorcerer SUPREME was shown as weak and needed saving.
In terms of the 2 illumantis deaths' they were implied, but not shown . When I say shown, I mean literally seeing the 2 halves of Carter on the floor or Marvel's shattered corpse. And if you're gonna say that, that would be R-rated, we literally saw a man blow his brains out and commit accidental suicide.
In terms of Professor X his freaking neck was snapped. Whether that was in his mind or not, they showed an old man being explicitly killed.
I think Carter getting cut in half on-camera would have probably given the movie an R rating with the amount of gore that brings.
As person a who read and knew about the Inhumans, closing Black Bolt's mouth won't kill him. First off, he can use his powers besides his own mouth. Two, his body is a container of his powers. Same as Cyclops and his brothers Havok and Vulcan, their own powers can't hurt each other. Third, Black Bolt has been controlling his powers since he was kid, so again, a feedback can't even happened. Him being quiet in his entire life is an obvious flag. Clearly, the writer who wrote Rick and Morty has NEVER read about Black Bolt.
Don't even get me started with Reed Richards and Charles Xavier. Lol.
I just figured she crushed his head.
Xavier was nerfed as hell

Wanda being mentally unstable is very comic accurate, but the writing in the MCU so far makes it seem entirely out of character because there's been little to no indication of her instability before Wandavision
That's why the whole "It's in the comics!" defense doesn't actually work. The MCU has a different story than the comics, and Wanda has not had the character development to be what she is in this movie.
Actually, I think there were? I seems to recall how they made her to be this somewhat melancholy woman that couldn't live without people at her side, like Civil War/Infinity Wars making her to be a vulnerable woman that is attached to a single purpose, which is Vision.
Of course, it's not exactly the focus of the movie, and I'm actually the type of person that zooms in on those type of moments, so I wouldn't be surprised to see some people not notice it.
But to directly contradict Neutral Tired og comment, the BIGGEST indication of her instability is in the Endgame, with how rough she was to the enemy, especially Alternate Thanos.
@@zacksilverstone7642 I didn't see instability in end game, I did see the pent up anger and vindictive in her action there.
I think it show more in wandavision, what is weird to me in the movie is why she did not seek vision and built her own family but went after other people children.
@@zacksilverstone7642 IKR, Wanda was motivated by emotions to try and kill the guy who killed the guy she loved and 50% of the universe besides- it's a real foreshadowing of psychopathic insanity.
@@colsonpotter9333 if wandavision filled the gap between infinity war and endgame, she may have been stewing those emotions for thanos for quite a while. if not her snap in endgame would lead into the show and then to this.
As to the 'limited knowledge of the magic system for the characters' Rincewind the Wizzard knows ONE spell in the Discworld series. He's a terrible wizard, but he's an AMAZING character.
Terrible wizZard but thanks to his insane luck which is borderline probability manipulation still arguably one of the strongest beings on Discoworld. And as you said amazing characters. His philosophy about that its not important where you run to but from where you run always cracks me up.
My cousin watched this film in a preview in Brisbane and when he vaguely described the whole movie to me over Discord, my mind instantly identified with all the horrid writing and my mind was self-imploding before he was half way through
Ok, the movie is badly written, but in tje older comic books Wanda's power is Probability Control not magic. Do not know what her powers are in the MCU. Just a thought and the movie fails on many levels.
Doing something evil to achieve something good makes you and the act evil. “The ends justify the means” is an evil idea used to justify evil actions
Sadly that seems to be a controversial point among some people these days...
Well depends on what are you doing. If you are stealing super special bread to bring back every good person from the dead, it's fine.
But that rarely happens, that kind of thing hasn't happened for months already.
Do you seriously think there is 0 nuance to something like the trolly problem?
@@neomcdoom Yes there is nuance in how we assign guilt to someone acting out of sympathetic motivations (like trying to save more people). However the consequentialist calculation can only be done in extremely limited and closed scenarios like the trolley problem, which is why we need deontological rules such as "the ends don't justify the means." There are many real life examples and fictional narratives in which the villain is evil exactly because they violate that rule in a complex scenario and get the calculation wrong. Consequentialism makes a bad heuristic. Their desire to appeal to a greater good in that scenario is really only the difference between giving them life in prison or the death penalty.
@@neomcdoom The Trolley problem is ALL nuance, but I don't think it really applies here.
And of course, this topic gets really complicated once you get into the varying severities of good and evil. Nothing is so black and white.
Stealing bread is bad, but it's very minor as far as crimes go. Bringing back a bunch of heroes to save the world is fantastically good. So you could argue that doing a minor evil to gain a major good is fine. But then you get into how good the ends have to be for the means to be justified. And how evil can the means be for it to still be okay for the good ends?
Also, keep in mind that the Wanda possessed the whole town and created those kids out of thin air before having the Dark Hold which she only got at the very end of the series. So they are just ignoring their own continuity in claiming that the Dark Hold made her want those kids when that is nonsensical.
Not at all. She essentially was consumed by first wanting to have her kids back to wanting literally that specific children
@@inteallsviktigt OK, but she was doing evil before she got the dark hold unless you consider taking a town hostage against their will not evil.
@@willd1mindmind639 well that’s her least evil action. And she went down from hill there. Plus she started evil, switched side and then well went full overlord
@@inteallsviktigt The darkhold should make her want to have Vision back
Not the kids
The kids are the least important part of Wanda's arc. They are important but only when paired WITH VISION!
That's why it feels so off! They didn't took time to show why the Darkhold corrupted her to want ONLY the kids, and ignore Vision
The movie could've been about her looking for a place where Vision AND THE KIDS exist, but maybe not her
So in the end, Vision is the who talks to her
It would be consistent with her, and her arc in WV, seeing how he was still the one to put sense into her
@@vcamv2354 Greatest missed opportunity in this movie was not have Vision and Quicksilver variants fight Wanda. I think that emotional epicness of such scene could strike for best scene MCU. Unfortunately creators were too obssesed with turning Wanda into one-dimensional unstopable slasher horror villain.
Why does she need America's powers if she can dreamwalk? I think Wong points this out, and Wanda says the kids might get sick, and she'll need to search through the multiverse to find a cure. Which is ridiculous, of course.
What I hate is that Dr Strange was deemed that he needed to be killed in the all other dimensions cause *he's* dangerous, yet Wanda (the actual threat) is fine to exist and murder regardless. Meanwhile who's trying to fix shit?
Apperantly. 83’s Wanda only have Age of Ultron power level
Wait, I just realized this. In the Illuminati world, Ultron seems to have been created perfectly fine, so wouldn't that mean that Vision would have never existed in that world, since evil Ultron created Vision?

I love doctor strange, but I felt really really disappointed by Doctor strange 2.
The original director was planing to do nightmare as the villain. I loved that idea. Imagine someone as powerful as Doctor strange haunted by nightmares. Having him fight an enemy on a plane of existence that strange doesn’t control would be so triply and awesome!
The thing that really pissed me off about this was how they kept emphasizing how she kept wanting to go off and steal other kids. The whole thing in the ending of Wandavison was how she was going to get HER children and HER Vision back. But this entire movie is about her stealing strangers. Kids that are unrelated to the ones she had in her storybook village. They won't be the same ones, they won't have the same memories, and they won't know HER! She even flat out states that she knows these won't be her kids but oh well.
“The Darkhold” is sadly to answer to almost all the plot points. How find out about Chavez? Darkhold told Wanda. How steal powers? Darkhold (and sorcerers I guess know how to do that)
The diminishing returns will be legendary. The word of mouth is not good. The keys they dangled weren’t enough to keep a baby interested.

More limited magic systems allows for better story telling because the user has to be more creative with their limited tools. One of my favorite magic systems is from the Inheritance Cycle by Christopher Paolini.
That was the first hard magic system I read and I'm still amazed at how incredibly simple it is in concept while allowing for limitless creativity. Another example would be how some of the newly discovered weaves are used at the end of A Memory of Light.
Hard magic is good magic.
@@Lttlemoi would recommend Earthsea, then. Paolini kinda took it wholesale.
The making of this movie probably has a better story than the actual theatrical cut.
Scott Derrickson (Former director of Doctor Strange) has ideas for the sequel. He wanted to explore more about the crazy magical world of Marvel and wanted the character Nightmare to be the next antagonist. But no... Feige wanted the sequel to connect to WandaVision and the multiverse. That is why Scott left because of creative differences and that is why there are many reshoots.
Yeah, I feel like the MCU is flatteing out. Sure, some of the movies are still good, but overall it falls flat more often than it works since Endgame was released
I predicted that it was then end.
Which "some" out of curiosity? Black Widow, Shang-chi, Eternals, Dr Strange 2, and the Disney plus shows are the post Endgame selection. I would say it jumped the shark at Endgame (which I didn't like, and foreshadowed pretty much all the junk that has taken over.)
Post-Endgame, I only bothered watching Hawkeye. I enjoyed it. I didn't care for anything else.
I cannot belive that Shad and Oz still think Loki is coherent enough to settle their argument. This movie was written by the same person, and doesn't funtion at all if the mechanics of one are assumed to apply on the other.

That actually raises a good point, though. While his mouth may have been sealed shut, his _nostrils_ clearly were not. It'd make a lot more sense for his sound-based powers to have just exited from his nostrils and smash the hell out of the floor rather than blow his own brain and skull apart.
The very concept of the multiverse falls apart upon a fraction of a second thought, not worth even getting into, but seriously, what are the odds of randomly jumping into a universe with only slight differences to the all the same characters and landing right next to them when there is such diversity among the universes that there are places where everything is made of paint?
They wrote themselves into a corner with Endgame; that was the point where they should have said, "ok we're taking a break" and really think about what direction they want to go in.
They went with the multiverse because it's a "get out of jail free" card; if their current course fails horribly they always have a way to undo things and bring back the older characters ( or hell even Thanos is they were that desperate). They clearly didn't think this through though aside from that and how it'd allow them to insert their crappy race/gender swap characters of the 2016 era of Marvel.
I honestly don't even think they have an idea of where this is building up to; they're just throwing crap at the wall to see what sticks.
@@kaathesacolyte2943 But the stuff that doesn't stick is getting picked up and through at the wall again, and again, and again.

Also, BTW: I love systems where mana is life force, I still remember my first Forgotten Realms book (basically normal story books in D&D world) where Rashemen witches were mentioned falling into something similar to berserker rage, where they casted attack spells until the only thing left of them was a pile of rags and ash, thus I enjoyed Dragon Age due to blood magic.
Limited uses are nice but I prefer soft limit that can be pushed to a point over hard limita.
Fun lore facts about DnD's magic system.
It's actually real, canon in universe. Like spell slots and spell levels and all that is explained in the universe, even preparing a certain number of spells per day is explained.
The short version is it used to be there were no limits on magic, what you could do was only limited by your skill at manipulating the weave. 10th and 11th level spells were possible and common(relatively speaking, it's still REALLY hard magic)
Then one guy made a 12th level spell and ACCIDENTALLY KILLED THE GODDESS OF MAGIC! That is very bad, ALL magic just stopped for a few minutes, ending this civilization in calamitous fashion. The new goddess of magic said "That's it, no more big magic!"
And to make sure this shit didn't happen again, she set up new rules limiting how much magic anyone could use per day, and also banned spells higher than 9th level.
And that's why magic stops at 9th level and you can't just cast fireball 100 times a day.
DnD Lore is actually really interesting when the woke agenda isn't sanitizing it.
Same because life force can actually be good not just as a system but a little world building. For example you can have many cultures that call it different like ki, ether, miracles etc.
But keep it vague or just say "its magic" makes it seem lazy and uninspiring
In the first Doctor Strange chakra was mentioned off hand but I don't remember it being mentioned again. D&D had mana. Think about how Chakra played a huge part in Naruto. You guys are right. That would have been a great limitation for Wizards in Doctor Strange.
This movie seemed like a huge middle finger to the fans of Marvel and the MCU history.
Third Eye of Enlightenment.

I think I would rather take Aqaba with Lawrence than watch this movie again. I think I would rather defend Khartoum with Gordon Pasha against the Mahdi than see anymore Marvel movies. They have gone to Hell.
On the portal front; there is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it moment when Scarlet Witch is breaking out of the mirror dimension when she disintegrates Dr Stranges sling ring. He doesn't have one after that point until after the finale.
That doesn't excuse not using them to battle SW when she attacks the temple though, or Wongs generally terrible decision making through the whole movie.
... Oz, you seem to be unaware of the most important rule:
Do _not_ stick it in crazy. It's never worth it.
Things that were obvious,
Derrickson original idea was make Nightmare the main villain, which would explain and justify the dreams
eality/ nightmare plot and even clear up Wandas going crazy since WandaVision .
Most of the Reshoots were to include America Chavez and make her the Mgufin and important part of the film.
To make America Chavez "important" they had to nerf Strange and make him the sub character in his own movie and because they cut Nightmare they had to straight up make Wanda the main villain.
Sam Raimy main contribution to this movie was basically "make the stupid script work" which he almost couldn't do it because he never had the full paper on hands nor the liberty change anything on it.
What pisses me off the most, and that is very particular to me,is people praising this movies for " Raymisms" tidbits and good acting by Olsen and Cumberbatch saying the movie is GREAT while ignoring everything else, the terrible wriiting , the sub par dialogue, the horrible treatment all the characters in Dr Strange franchise received to give space to America Chavez story and the horrible jokes at the cost of Dr Strange as the main character, its ridiculous and its even more ridiculous is that in the pos credit they introduce Clea who in the comics right now , took Stranges place as the sorcerer supreme ,they are not even trying to hide anymore.
Huh I didn't know that 🤔

You mean like Black Widdow? The other main female character in the Avengers, which also has red hair, can't have children and kills herself for plot reasons?
The difference being that she wasn't a badly written, insane, evil, BS character, acted reasonable (until the Black Widdow movie) and it wasn't a complete (only partial) destruction of the character..
Which still means that they did exactly what Oz was implying for BOTH female core members of the Avengers.. Genius!
Just like Star Wars this is a gold mine of examples how to fail at almost every level. And still make a whoooooole lot of money.
Capitalism bad! :P
Widow* and capitalism is great. People are just retarded and can't differentiate quality over crap.
Great point, then you blame capitalism for Disney?! Disney used the government it change copy right laws dozens of times in the most anti-competitive move. They have an edit to make bank in China, and a different edit to attract special interests and raise ESG score. When told by more then half the fanbase that they are ruining star wars, they continue to underperform in the making money part on their high republic project and Solo. Heck Disney had a special law free zone in Florida that let them ignore fire code, taxes, and run their own police. They have a completely different set of rules then every other company, their success has nothing to do with market forces.
@@viperstriker4728 are you seriously responding to me mocking the champagne socialist blaming capitalism, ignoring the smiley face that is a dead giveaway I was joking?
Or are you just that eager to repeat all this stuff to anyone that might not know every single bit of it? I mean I knew all of this already and I don't see the point in bringing this up when the whole post was about adding a bit of wider context to Oz's comment to show how backwards everything they are trying is. And how they will continue to fail to see it because they are still making a ton of money and have their heads up their pseudo-ideological asses.
I say pseudo-ideological because while all the activists actually believe the crap the important people are just using it for their own benefits. The Veritas Twitter expose was a great example of how they are claiming to be super-commies, but are acting like the very caricature of an evil capitalist they pretend to hate so much..
They are worse than actual communists. They are parasites that compensate their incapabilities by exploiting the good will of everybody else.

The biggest problem is Scarlet Witch and her relationship to the Dark Hold: her power level (and its source: Dark Hold or purely from within her), whether the insanity is from the Dark Hold or her mental instability, and the general regression of her character having unclear and/or unjustifiable sources.
Her power is severely inconsistent: if she is able to take over a small town due to grief/trauma of killing Vision, why was there no sign of similar influence when losing her brother in Age of Ultron or when unintentionally blowing up civilians in Civil War (perhaps the mental manipulation of the heroes due to dealing with the mistake resulted in them fighting each other maybe? But that would be a major retcon)? On top of that, her power variation seems largely related to the level of emotion felt, which explains why she nearly took out Thanos on her own, but that largely leaves her power increase either unexplained or purely due to the Dark Hold. If the later were true, then a completely different movie dealing with the creator of the Dark Hold would've been more appropriate (and the Illuminati could've received a better introduction by assisting in combatting this character whose name escapes me).
It is comics-accurate (as far as I can tell) that her magic can warp reality, and with similar mental problems it would be entirely sensible that she falls apart in WandaVision without realizing it and believes her children to be real (losing her grip on reality would be really easy with mental problems and the power to warp reality). However, NONE OF THIS IS ESTABLISHED THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRETY OF THE MCU. It relies on knowledge of the comics to skate by. The Dark Hold admittedly did appear to be manipulating Wanda at the end of WandaVision, but that gets no follow-up in the movie, leaving many viewers wondering how/why she went crazy in this film. They make a few passing remarks about the Dark Hold manipulating her, but that's about it and highly insufficient. As you mentioned, it is also very unclear how much the Dark Hold is actually affecting her, and this likely has to do with the author of the Dark Hold being entirely absent, leaving us no reason to believe Wanda isn't in control.
Most importantly, Wanda had a completely regressed character arc in this movie for no well-explained reason. This was kind of the case in WandaVision, but at least in the TV show you are learning about her instability and its ramifications with her (potentially leading to a "rediscovery of self" arc, for lack of a better term). Wanda in the movie devolved into a worse version of her Age of Ultron self (at least then she had an understandable motive) and expects us to accept that based off one line she hears when reading the Dark Hold tucked away in a post-credits scene.
The Dark Hold is like the One Ring if Tolkien was an idiot. Not only was the Ring established as this corrupting force, but you were properly briefed on its creator (Sauron), and its importance to said creator, its manipulative influence and motivation, as well as the consequences of the Sauron reacquiring it and its destruction to the rest of the LotR universe. The Dark Hold is lacking in all of these things yet isn't treated like the centerpiece of the story. Frodo ultimately gave in to the Ring, but it makes sense. Wanda has no good reason to surrender to the manipulation of Dark Hold, nor is it even clear that she does so.
Darkhold was created by Chthon, who also gave Wanda Chaos Magic.
Robert Downey Jr : Well at least Iron Man is safe from character assassination
In a hopefully nonexistent future
Disney Executives : ": Let's make a story that will ruin Tony Stark forever in the MCU like he implied to be a sexual predator or eugencist or worse but he not.
I think the movie is cool just for the sake of being cool while disregarding everything else. The music battle is cool but like... why? And wtf? Zombie Strange is cool but like... why he suddenly got ghost power? The inconsistencies are glaring and the visual pleasures barely cover them.
Sonic 2 is much more enjoyable, at least to me.
Yeah it was clearly one of those movies written scenes first and then strung together with the barest threads of plot.
Well of course it is! It has dr chicken incubation shell male! (Eggman)
I loved the Sonic movies. Proves that people still know how to make a new version of characters that respects the originals and keeps the reason why people loved the originals.
I keep mentioning this about the mouth part of the movie with black bolt. They show he has a jaw still, so she literally just erased his lips. His mouth would just be ripped open, and could have led to a crazy scene with him in pain perhaps screaming everywhere and the other people need to avoid him and help or something. Instead, they just throw some male idiots into the mix, to make the female heroes so much better looking for optics.
funny thing is, if you scream with your mouth closed the air/vibration still escapes through your nose, like when you hum. The scene should have been much different if they actually though about what is going on. By the way, if she can remove someone's mouth in a heartbeat then she can remove their nose as well and just suffocate everyone.
@@TheL0ngbeard "By the way, if she can remove someone's mouth in a heartbeat then she can remove their nose as well"
Or their heart. Or their brain (wait, maybe *THAT'S* why Mr. Fantastic was such a moron!). Hell, we also see her spaghettify and just straight-up disintegrate people. It really raises the question of why they heck she just keeps playing around with the main characters by tossing them around when it's made so abundantly clear that she could easily just erase them.
My problem was that Chavez, while not a horrible character, feels kinda unnecessary to the plot outside of the power she has. She doesn't have a ton of depth and her development is little to nonexistent. She would have made a decent side character but her power forced her to basically be the main character of the movie, while pushing Strange to the side which I didn't like.
I liked the visuals and the camera work, but Chavez was the weakest part of the movie. I can excuse Scarlet Witch cuz she isn't exactly sane in the head and is quite unstable (from what we've seen of Wandvision). Combine the ability to warp reality and an unstable person. I don't know how anyone was surprised at the damage that she had done.
I think Chavez, with the power she has (multiverse teletransportation) could be a very cool character and could have a great series of her own where she goes from one multiverse to the other searching for her mothers, but I just hate that the character design is so goddamn terrible and the character writing is not all that great (although not terrible).
The fact that America Chavez is not a horrible character in this adaptation has to go for something.
Except no one (Strange, Rambeau, any of the remaining heroes) actually condemns Wanda for any of her assholery

Stealing powers was established to be possible by Mordo at the end of Doctor Strange 1.
Also if Wanda used dream walking a lot, that could trigger incursions.

For this movie to work, everyone had to be as dumb as possible. Like why doesn’t Wanda recreate her children? Why doesn’t Reed use the same magic-nullifying cuffs on Wanda that they used on Dr. Strange? etc.

Because she wants the real children not the fake ones, an Reed died second in didn't have a chance to use the cuffs
In defense of Doctor strange using the demons to his will, in the first movie Wong asks strange about reading the key of Solomon which is an extra biblical text where Solomon bends the will of demons to build the temple of god.
I might be the only person who noticed that, so I don’t think it was set up correctly, but it was at least there.
Stuff happened. It all looked pretty. None of it really mattered.

Guys, seriously, you missed the one line in this movie that explains all of your issues.
Ms Olmak states that ALL dreams are windows into other dimensions. Wong even asks "so that recurring nightmare about being naked and running from a minotaur?" and she says "in some universe out there..." And Olmak girl knows she's unique because she has the Annona plague and doesn't dream.
Have you ever had a ridiculous dream where nothing makes sense and logic goes out the window? This movie is saying that there's a universe out there where that dream is reality, so there's a universe out there where nothing makes sense and there is no logic. This movie takes place in one (well, two) of those universes where things don't make sense and there is no logic!
Seriously, I love the implications that that one line leaves. Apparently all lucid dreamers are dreamwalkers with reality powers, i'm guessing there's just a universe out there where people regularly show up to stuff naked, getting inspiration from dreams is just stealing ideas from a smarter version of yourself; and what about when you dream about a movie you just watched, or a game you just played?
And now you should make "Oz the Great and the Multiverse of Shadness."
The primary problem these days IMO - across the board - MCU, Doctor Who, Star Trek, Star Wars - ALL these properties - is that they are in the hands of people who just don’t care anymore!
And almost worse than that, they actually despise their core audiences. They get a strange satisfaction out of hurting the same individuals who made the properties popular and successful, and all they care about is “the message” and not the properties or characters themselves!
Hell, they seemingly often don’t even seem to care about continued success anymore either.
I want Oz on EFAP.
Yes!
If he's got the time, I'm sure he would have a blast with the other hosts
Hi Shad one thing you missed which I found dumb. When Scarlet is chasing Strange, the girl and Christen in the tunnel. Even tho Scarlet is right behind them about 3 to 5 meters. She does not shoot them with any magic blast, slow them down with a spell anything. There were turns in the tunnel but she has been shown to be able to curve magic blasts. Great video Shad and Oz. Can’t wait till the next!
I still think that Wanda Vision was meant to introduce Mephisto.
I still think that the Scarlet Witch was manipulated to do all this stupid rigmarole by both Agatha Harkness and her "brother" who were both influenced by Mephisto. I still believe that she created the twins and the Vision while being under the influence of Mephisto's guile. I believe that there was supposed to be a season 2 of Wanda Vision where Mephisto would finally be hinted at more strongly.
I thought that the MCU was playing the long game with the introduction of Mephisto, because he is supposed to be very subtle and his trademark is that he does not do things, he influences and makes people do things. And his influence and the horrible things she's done under the influence were just to prepare her to accept the influence of the Dark Hold.
Unfortunately, I now think that, with all the garbage we have been fed, this is overestimating Disney and their writers. I still hope... :(
My daughter loved Scarlet Witch. But then they went full Deanarys. I’m not letting her watch this movie
And I freaking hate those “believe in yourself” moments in all these movies/comics. So frustrating…..just a lazy way out when the plots need it
How did she summon demons in other universes if she never dreamwalked there. Thats the one that got me from the start. If she can manifest things at will, in other universes shes never been to, surely she has the power to get there? meh.

Yes, look at how they destroyed my girl.
WTF people, why do they need to assassinate characters like that.
Loved their focus on the enormous power and capability of portals. Robert Jordan knew this well, which was why Androl was such an interesting character. He had a talent for portals, but was the weakest Asha'man otherwise. When he finally breaks through the dream spike (preventing them from channeling), he annihilates several much more powerful foes extraordinarily quickly. He also later uses a portal to spew lava onto an entire army of Trollocs. Point is, Robert Jordan understood the potential of the power he was giving to a character; he imposed limitations to make the character balanced, but also allowed the character to fully utilize the abilities he was given (which is exactly what you would expect a human being to do).
I agree with what you're saying, but RJ didn't make Androl. That was a Sanderson creation, and the only original character he was allowed to make.
Not saying it's explained well, BUT they do cover how Scarlet Witch knows about the girl from the other universe. In her dark book there was a picture of a star, which I signify as explaining the girls powers.
You know what bugged me most about black bolts death? She didn’t seal his nose. The sound should still have escaped his nose and blown her away. You can test this right now. Close your mouth and start talking. Sound will still escape.
So if I am getting it right, this is Woman moment: the movie. Stealing kids from someone in a different dimension because you want kids. Big brain stuff.
Sony was SO SMART to take Spiderman back and leave the MCU at this point. They don't have what they need to run a SpiderVerse, but they certainly have more going for them than the Disney MCU does right now. No reason to allow Disney to ruin the Spiderman legacy with the garbage going on from Disney. Even parking the asset and leaving it dormant is better than getting the taint that is being applied to Strange and Scarlet Witch and others. Hemsworth has to be regretting his 3 movie contract to reprise Thor 3 more times. One will be Love and Thunder, but that still leaves 2 more... and L&T is going to be yet another "shit on the man/legacy character and elevate the shitty alt version" episode.
Rumor is after Sam was done filming, a bunch of reshoots were done. Sam Rami has been quoted saying that it was difficult movie to film, because he didn’t know what the ending to the film was. People can correct me, but that is what I heard. Nerdrotic also said the film was a Kevin Feige Production . . .
11:25 46:51 47:34 THIS, This right here is the reason the portal scene from Avengers Infinity war is as bad as the lightspeed ramming scene in the Last Jedi.
Both of them look cool in the moment but ultimately break the universe.
Rogue in X-Men stole powers and if she held on long enough it would kill the person and she would have that power forever. Im pretty sure she did that to Capt Marvel and is why she is so powerful in the animated series.

I really think I need to talk with my niece about Scarlet Witch. She loves the character, has literally grown up with her, made her first ever D&D character a sorceress named Scarlet and dressed as said character for Halloween. I'm positive she's seen Wandavision and no idea if she's caught this movie yet. I want to ask her what she thinks about Wanda as a character now. I don't want to tell a fourteen year old girl that her hero is a piece of shit, but this is the situation forced on us by Disney's propaganda.
Growing up in the '80s and '90s--the message being taught to girls was that they could pursue science, math, and sports if they wanted to. There was nothing wrong with being smart or chasing balls with the boys, don't let the previous generation tell you these things weren't for you. What's the message now? You're automatically the best at everything but men hold you back? Anything you do is acceptable because of "oppression"? Why the fuck is the official, intented position on kidnapping and mentally torturing a town was that she was justified to do so and in fact did nothing wrong?
It's been said before; if I pull a gun on you, I'm not a hero for sparing your life--I'm the bad guy for pulling a gun. At least it was before now.
Also, where the f are magneto and vision in this? They absolutely should be here
You make a really good point, if she doesn't care about taking kids from other Wandas, why wouldn't she just take over a different Wanda who already has kids? Or why not just have kids?
The “you always need to hold the knife” is garbage bull crap, in infinity war he lets himself die so iron man could save the day
About the sling ring: sometimes we see him cast quick spells to defend himself or something, I do not doubt that the couple of seconds needed to pull out the sling ring and slip it on would make quite the difference. However, portals DO feel like pretty awesome magic spells.
I have this theory that Kevin Feige is actually dead and Kathleen Kennedy is wearing his skin as a suit
MIB style.
Agatha Harkness steals powers from her coven and attempts to steal Wanda's powers. Mordo takes the power away from that guy in the end of Doctor Strange. Stealing powers has been thoroughly established.
Remember kids, a dimension is a measurement of space-time. Not a separate universe, reality or time.
Connotation and denotation. It’s hardly making the Kessel Run in 11 parsecs or whatever Han said.
Visuals and some set-pieces are pretty cool (specifically zombie Strange) probably thanks to Sam's directing, besides that the writings/script is downright terrible and amateurish, the movie basically coasts on the visuals and character cameos/easter eggs.
Most aggravating parts of the plot for me were Wanda's saying her children were created by magic like all mothers do (then recreate them again you dumbass), then her scene comparing herself to Dr.Strange (his actions to save the world which he did for selfless reasons and her Wandavision unhinged crap which she did for selfish reasons, which is insane).
Then the crappiest scene, the Illuminati scene, all of them came off as really unexperienced pompous morons who clearly underestimated Wanda/Scarlet Witch and died for their stupidity, Prof.Xavier could have telepathically prepared a counter-attack plan and broadcasted it to the whole team immediately as she starts attacking their base (say a plan to try to suppress her magic by using the same anti-magic bracelet/handcuffs they literally just put on Dr.Strange moments ago, some co-ordinated attack involving all their skills combined to distract her and then put the bracelet/handcuffs on her).
Instead they just go stand infront of her and try to talk to her like a bunch of idiots seconds after she just destroyed their entire base and massacred everyone there (she was literally covered in the blood of their base staff), then to top it off they try to show-off by explaining Black Bolt's power to her only to get him instantly killed by his own power, the absolute utter morons.
There is no way those clowns played any role in defeating their version of Thanos, and no wonder their Dr.Strange had to use the Darkhold to defeat him instead, considering how everyone else in the team is so profoundly incompetent and self-important (then they had the nerves to punish and kill him for their own sheer incompetence).
And Chavez was completely bland and underdeveloped in terms of characterization and only meant to be a plot device, that's why the climax of the movie where she suddenly is able to fully control her powers because zombie Strange gave her a 10 sec pep-talk completely fell flat, when was it ever established that she lacks self-confidence!? And even worse, she was with Kristine for several scenes (Kristine who is an expert in multiverses) but the movie never bothered to make her explain to Chavez how to use her powers, whhhhy!?
Even worse, they claim that dreamwalking is very dangerous and can destroy universes, but they let Chavez keep her power in the end of the movie where she can do a lot more than what Dreamwalking allows, she can literally teleport herself and others fully between universes not just consciousness like Dreamwalking, but that's somehow isn't as dangerous as just teleporting your consciousness across universes...What the hell!?
And if all Sorcerer Supremes knew that the Darkhold origin is in that mountain why didn't he call on all sorcerers to attack that mountain and destroy it to end the evil of the Darkhold in all dimensions, why let these books corrupt people across all dimensions and wait until things got completely out of hand, there was literally nothing there they couldn't handle, the three demons were complete total pushovers and very easy to kill, so why the hell they didn't attack it and destroy it if they knew about this location beforehand!!?
Also free food = slave labor... I'll just leave that here.
Well... What do you expect from a writer who wrote Rick and Morty, but never wrote any Marvel comics. He doesn't even know how Black Bolt's powers work. That won't even kill him, his own body will just simply absorbed that so called feedback.
@Szymon Lech Dzięcioł So food magically produces itself without any labor or the people creating it labor for free .. pick one.
@Szymon Lech Dzięcioł Yet we have seen no such thing in the MCU so far, and food paid for by taxes isn't free, you are obligated to pay taxes under threat of imprisonment or violence, so it ain't free.
Zombie Strange with the cloak of damnded souls was definitely the highlight of the movie.
Doctor Strange 2 is by far my new favorite Marvel movie. You make some good points but have failed to convince me that this is anything but an enjoyable movie.
Loki and the TVA effect the Timeline while the Multiverse is completely separate they don't effect each other.
