      Hey Frank, thanks for the kind words! Its funny the car came about from necessity really, I have always been a car guy , but todays hot rod prices made me determined to find an alternative, this was the result!

    Most impressive craftsmanship. Where there's a will there's a way. I've thought about building one of these like you have for years ever since I seen a guy in town with a hand made roadster kinda like yours.
    Real 32 ford's have always been out my reach. So my thinking always was if you can't afford it, build it yourself. It's cool to see someone actually built one of these . Excellent work..
    Do you have measurements or blue prints? I'd love to build one with my own twist to it.

      Hey Matt, thanks for the comments. That is the reason behind The Backyard Coupe , a real factory built 32 or model a, or even a fiberglass replica, seemed way too expensive for me, so I played around with the idea of scratch built , this was many years ago, then I built a scale model, and when I had a good idea in my head, started building it. It actually turned out better than I first thought it might, anyway to answer your question, definitely ! there are plans in the works right now, about 75% finished, they will be out this spring!

      @@kentdixon5716 yep. My thinking exactly. Always wanted a 32 ford 5 window coupe..but they are all out of reach for the common man..tooooo expensive . But the handmade roadster in town riding on the S10 chassis got me thinking ..just build it by hand..I was trying to figure up a wood frame with sheet metal exterior..like the real model As were built. But your idea of the square metal tube frame with wood exterior is good . Heck, that one you built looks killer. I'd drive that everyday. I'm curious if you have roll up glass in the doors .I'm trying engineer that in my mind. I thought about using a 1/25th scale 30 model A 5 window I have as a pattern to get the dimensions in full scale by converting the basic measurements to full scale .. .but if you got the patterns and blueprints, I might just hold for that as a basis to build from and add my twist to it..Building it looks simple enough ..I used to restore and build hot rods for a living for other people but never could afford one myself.
      Just seeing you build yours, I can't help but think this is old school stage coach building methods from 150 years ago..

    Intrepid and Uber cool.suspension tests on bumpy,uneven surfaces. Hand brake on rear wheels for emergency or stable stopping power,a reassuring couple of clicks on the hand or rear brake,maybe stopping at traffic lights etc. go pro cruises.excel.

      Hi Josh , glad you enjoyed the videos. I am currently still working on the plans, hoping to have them finished this summer 2023, The body is prepped for paint by first sanding, then epoxy primer, then body fillers, and urethane primer, then automotive top coat. Hope that helps, and you can always shoot me an email with any other questions you might have , my email is on my youtube channel kentdixon_692@msn.com

      Well I'm working on a 74 vw beetle and there's a medium chance the shell could be to far gone from the doors back, I still have to set the shell off but if it is to bad to use I wanna turn it into a stable woody

    • @kentdixon5716
      @kentdixon5716  3 роки тому

    • @kentdixon5716
      @kentdixon5716  3 роки тому

      Time to build , isnt accurate because I was engineering it as I built it, it could easily be built over the course of a summer.

    How did you get title ?

    • @kentdixon5716
      @kentdixon5716  3 роки тому

      Hey Darrell, every province here in Canada, and every state in the US, has provisions for homebuilt, or ubuilt vehicles, You have to keep inventory of all your major purchases, suspension parts, differential, motor, transmission, front axle, steering box, etc, then they will issue you what they call an assigned VIn number, because obviously it was not built in a factory and therefore does not have one. Then after it passes a full head to toe vehicle inspection, they will fasten it to your vehicle, with special rivets, then from that day on it will be in your province/states motor vehicle data base, then you can get appropriate registration/ insurance.
