I've taught these to my primary school students. No reason to rule lines. And clear sticky tape or staples work a lot better (also quicker and more secure) than waiting for the dabs of glue to dry when making the 6 sections before putting it all together. It works really well with 6 sheets A4 photocopy paper cut down into squares before folding. They look very dramatic hanging from the ceiling or pinned to a wall. But it also makes beautiful Christmas tree ornaments if you use 10cm patterned origami paper.

I made them with primary age children too. We measured the 2cm divisions and ruled faint lines across but didn't bother with the 1cm stopper line; we just stopped cutting before the end. No rubbing out required. Glue sticks were good for the curls but staples were best for attaching all of the sections together.

WOW! I think i will make an indoor BLIZZARD to surround me and drive my kitties deliriously happy as they twirl around from the ceiling!!!! I can see so many fun ways to easily sparkle these up too! thanks!! and no hot glue! that's a real bonus haaaaaa!! simplistic beauty....just like the real snowflakes!! ❄❄❄

I've tried doing these paper decorations myself, it looks wonderful. ..!!
I've also made use of (stuck) silver foil on one side to add a bit more glow to these decors🔸

It turned out gorgeous! I made the mistake of using thinner paper, so it crinkled in a couple of places, but it's still awesome. And I'll know to pick thicker paper next time. Thank you for the great tutorial! :)))

I wonder what is the smallest size one can make of these. Might be fun to try and make one as small as possible just to see. Martha Stewart has a ruler thingy that cuts these out in seconds.

Cute Cupquake in the beginning they were just showing you how to cut an 8 x 11 paper into a square. Once you have just the square this should be easy to follow. Or just buy some already square paper (like origami paper so you can skip the first few steps)

Wow!! That is amazing!! I'm definitely going to make some (hopefully with my Mum) at Christmas .. One of these could go on the top of the tree! So fabulous .. Great tutorial. Thanks so much :)) I can't WAIT to do it. I wish I could get 2 toned paper easily here .. Really makes a difference. I guess you could water colour or paint one side? Where there is a will .. There is a way! Hehe. Thanks again :))
