That was by far the most detailed completely consuming match and tactical breakdown I’ve ever had the privilege to watch . I don’t match fish these days I just watch all disciplines of angling to try and gain knowledge…. I’ve learned more in the time watching that than I have in years . It’s been mind blowing!!!👍👍👍thank you
Hi Matt I am nearly 80years old but me and my wife loved this video a class act pal take care love from Sheffield 🎣🎣
That's awesome, glad you both enjoyed it! 🎣🎣
Simply the best presenter on YT! Luvs ya fella, top bloke!
Mat is my favourite, well done matt and keep it up 🎣🙌
Top world class angler, just amazes me how easy you make it look matt, absolute amazing.
Got to love Matts videos always plenty of information and loads of fun. Well done on the win mate
Fishing machine 👍 class, above the rest without a doubt slide on brother 👍
Hi Matt great video learnt a lot as only started match fishing in the last few years so it’s all quite new. Best venue I fish is the Kennet and Avon canal for getting loads of roach and skimmers local to me.
Oi oi babby, just want to say mate what a great watch, and some awesome looking fish caught, my favorite place is holgan farm in west wales plus Weston pools, I’ve only really got back into fishing in the last 5 years and watching your videos has helped me change the way I fish, love your videos, keep up the good work to you and the guru team
Glad they have helped! All the best! 🎣🙌
Great Video. Makins Lake 5 a few years back you could never predict what the next fish would be. Great Fun. Slide on.
That was amazing. I am fishing a winter silver league at the moment and am second. The next venue seems very similar and i hope that the tips i had will help me win. Thanks.
Well done Matt , you made that look so easy. Great result for you brother. Slide on big time .
Good job, smart fishing Matt 👍👍
Sherwood Forest fishery in Mansfield, full of carp and F1s. Brilliant venue all year round.
Well done on the win 👍
Great video carnt wait to see you on the mighty River trent again
Congrats Matt! More of this kind of thing pls. I’d love to get my hands on those rigs - probably wouldn’t use them but keep em as a bit of a trophy 😉 My favourite venue: Bury Hill’s Milton lake, full of pure-bred crucians that are a lovely challenge on the pole. Totally different game though. Sadly don’t get to do it very often any more (too far away)…
Another great video Matt I go to a pond called woodhead stoke on Trent it's full of f1 carp and there's only 45 member's..I'll give your method ago as it's silver's mate next week..thanks for the tips
Aldercarr lane fishery for a lovely mixed bag on maggot tactics 👍 think matt should do some videos with mr scholey again, baggin bros used to make me chuckle 👍
Love single maggot great way to fish on my local lakes catching f1's and silvers at s/farm .great result on match win matt👏👏well done
Great video catching a variety of species exactly what I enjoy doing at my local club fishery at Mirehouse ponds in Whitehaven, West Cumbria.
It's great when the float goes under and you've no idea whether it's a small gonk (gudgeon) or a 6lb F1. But catching a net of Crucians is special.
Thanks Matt and guru , so good to see a angler of Matt's calibre admitting to not being accurate throwing by hand .No overnight oats 😂😂them floats would would be a great addition to the few I have please .
Loved the video lads well done on the win I don’t fish anywhere with brown gold fish because I live well up north but had some great days for f1s at Edmondsley pond at Durham 🎣🎣
Great video Matt well done to win.
I fish for these at weston pools great venue for them
Im afraid theres just too many good quality venues to pick just one fave place, but any day im sneaking out barbel and tench amongst the carp and f1s, im chuffed tbits
Great video….and well done! I recently joined a club in the north west called Fylde angling society and their ponds are stocked with many different species of fish…I would love to get my hands on those rigs to try out. 👍
Great video Matt and Toby, would use these at Cooper's lake on some massive ide.
I need as much help as possible at the minute, bad start to the season 😭
Great video lads we catch little f1's which count as silvers at landsend fisheries in Somerset 👍
Great video and I have learnt loads, both rigs would suite my fishing at local lake 5 foot deep for skimmers, cruscians, roach
Summerhayes catching crucians skimmers tench but no ide or f1s in the lakes.congrats on your win.
Whilst I love the content and the banter of this fine ginger man, I felt I learnt nothing!
Great video Matt. My venue for lots of bites any time of year, is one you know- Riddings Fishery. Slide on...😉
Great video live match matt ad use them at Aston ponds fishery keep these live matches coming pal well done on ya result 👍👍
"The video was very enjoyable to watch. I envy such a fish-filled fishery. I have fisheries with similar fish, but not as many. I could use such setups to try them out in Poland, at the Bonarka fishery in the center of Krakow."
Fish mascara fishery on maron to catch skimmers on corn and punched bread.. Best silver fish fishing around here.
Brilliant
well done matt packington somers would be my venue to use them
Coopers aram for me great silver venue good angling mat as usual keep on bagging
Pleasure to watch sir, bloody machine tha nos.
Cant say where I go catch fish like that cos I'm rubbish 😂
This guy seems to know what he's doing... ;)
He’s not bad is he 🤔😉🎣
They would be great for catching at magiscroft in cumbernauld catching every species in my canal lake.with my grandson
I fish tibshelf and newton ponds in Derbyshire with f1s and everything 👍
Great film matt...why do you lick the float???
Sessay lakes on the small lake Big Ide love it
Well played.
Hi Matt. What pole float silicone do you use
Andy May would be proud of those instants lol
Guwon the instants 🤣🤣🤣 👍👍👍
Matt Brown
please don't let me draw next to matt the fishing wizard
I’m calling it now… that is THE best love match I’ve ever watched. Absolutely brilliant and holy shit that man has tekkers
Fully agree.. it was levels above
I enjoyed the video........ But would have enjoyed it so much more if the annoying, elevator background music was not there. It brings nothing positive to the video, especially for over an hour.
The content and matt's humour and knowledge are superb. But the music ruined it. Sorry for the negativity, just constructive criticism.
It must have put off the other anglers on the lake, too.
Matt your my favourite Guru Member. The thinking behind your fishing and the eye for every 1% is shockingly good. For me your are one of the best in the world. I really love to her your story on a Fishing Gurus Podcast Episode.
Well done from Germany 😉👍🏻
Vielen Dank! 🎣🙌
I don't fish matches and only fish pleasure sessions. I always do everything I can to avoid leaving a hook in a fish. Seeing Matt deliberately pull to break his hooklength on carp he didn't want to catch made me feel a bit uncomfortable. Any comment on this ?
Cuz there wankers with no care or brain
Great insight Matt on the slightest changes that make the difference. I would love those rigs on my local but would have to put a bit of depth on 5ft in margins Oakland water Horseshoe lake.
Tight lines for the rest of the league
Best video I've seen for a while. Plenty of info keeping it simple and a bit of a laugh as well. 👍
Favourite venue at the moment is Hednesford pools near Cannock Chase, fish not quite as exotic as the goldfish you’ve got there but full of 12oz carp / tench / barbel stockies. More similar to where you are and my next favourite is Pipehill Fisheries in Lichfield.
I hate it when people have their radio on when im fishing especially when they are playing 1950s easy listening slightly off key 🎣😅
Love this! Great angler and shows a huge love for the game,so funny he's pounding this lake but the guys on the far bank seem to be blanking big style 😁
Red maggot would look black to fish ...which is natural coloured ...water snail or beetle.
My fav place is the Bridgewater in Manchester. But now living in Australia, we catch a lot of small carp using those kind of tactics. Love the rigs to come down under. Top video as always and top pod cast. Top Northern lads.
Brilliant feature Matt. Great explanations. Enjoyed watching your match progress. Excellent camera angles. Good to see the float go under. Love the banter. More please.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it! 👍🙌
Very interesting watch ,don’t get the chance with my club to fish many silver matches, but bagging silvers when carp are shy have won me a few matches for sure.
Brilliant video matt would like to win the rigs unfortunately the venue's I fish wetlands springvale and lakeside don't contain either f1s or brown goldfish but would help for ide and baby carp so it's finger's crossed
My favourite venue for catching crucians is newlanads farm in Hampshire! Not only do they go to 2lb plus the colours in the fish there are just insane!👌🏻
Licking your float .....is this why you are catching so well.
Stop playing that repetitive background music. It spoils the commentary
Great match good section win my plase to go and catch fish like go!dfish crowes and all the fish you where on about is just across the road at Messingham grange thight lines
Willitoft Spalding near selby get yourself there Matt you like it ✌️(used to be named Winfields Lakes)
brilliant video. How do you change a hooklength so quickly! my mainline loop is a pain to open to pass the new hook through. help!
Hi Matt some great tips very appropriate for fishing on my favourite venue, Monkhall fisheries near Bridgnorth.
You should never be trying to leave tackle in a fish under any situations, youd be banned for life from my fishery for that an id have made you buy me a new fish for the pond #Fish care
Nolderwoud in the netherlands is my favourite commercial fishery full of f1 and silvers and a nice carp population
Westlands angling centre mint 100lbs + matches East Yorkshire
Top class angling, and very informative video. Welll done Matt,.
One up the bum, no harm done? Not heard anybody say that since about 1979🤣🤣🤣
Would like to know how Matt changes hooklengths so quickly ? , I can never get the loop to open up.
Nice watching this Guru video's, great fishing Matt.
Woodland view flying skimmers great video 👍
Well done matt. P.s no need for back ground music Toby
great win, even better lieing LOL!! Typical barnsley angler
Aston park fishery’s mate lanta lake
I think he is right turn the music off please
Wetlands pal full of silver's
Marsh farm a great place for crucians
Braddies bolton lake 3 😍
Ditch the bleeding music
Am there tomorrow in the south pond
Bit late but well done Matthew
Someone told me the overnight oats are next to the hot milk (cereal aisle) 🍺🍺🍺
Great vid interesting how feeding is key and things can change over the course of a match. More of these please.
15:44 😂😂😂
Hey Matt!!!!!!?????? Have you ever seen those garden ORNAMENTS that spin when it's windy....??? Put one under the water in a pike infested swim and............ You figure it out...🤣🤣
Wind or water..... What's the difference?? Try it.. it works!! Attract the Pike, it isn't a crime..🤣🤣
Keep them over there, and fish over here.... It's not ROCKET SCIENCE!!!!!!!!!!
Everytime the lock opens or a narrow boat is on it's way.......... Blah, blah, blah.... Get them predators where you want them, for £2.99 at B&M!!!!🤣😂🤣
Awesome fishing Matt. Can really see how important it is to get the rig in so accurately, and hit those little dinks. The fishery I get most of my F1 sport is calling Beauchamps near Rochford in Essex. Problem I have is it’s overrun with tiny Rudd and fishing maggots is suicidal. 4mm hard pellets do the trick though 😉😉😉. Don’t tell the boys 😂😂
Another brilliant video, very well fished Matt, simply the master at work, kept it simple and won!Would love these rigs for my local venue where there is lots of brown goldfish and proper goldfish, similar to Messingham with deep holes and shelves but you catch loads shallow in summer. Keep up the great work Guru! Adam.
These rugs would undoubtedly work well at Tunnel Barn which is probably my favourite commercial. I love fishing maggot up and down as you did today. You clearly outlined the importance of slopes, correct depths and accurate feeding. Thank you.
Brilliant interesting feature Matt , makes a nice change from carp bashing videos. Would love to try those rigs out on the Sandmartin lake at Lodge Farm, maggots are the only bait I take there, summer or winter, brilliant Ide fishing, plus loads of carp that love maggots. Looking forward to your next live match feature 👏👏
Tripp is one of my favourite ponds at messy sands because you never know what will come out next, i've had 200lb mixed bags mostly on paste , i'd even fish paste in the winter there. I prefer the deeper pegs 1 to 25. Little swan/new bit is another cracking lake with some nice islands and a sandbar to chuck a bomb n pellet or a method for carp and on the bottom you can get a skimmer a chuck.
I'm the secretary of a small (ish) club in Surrey and we put a lot of focus on a scheme called let's go fishing. This is based on getting young people into fishing where we as a club buy them a small set up and have coaches teach during the holidays. These videos are great to refer to on the days as they hold lots of information which helps explain certain things.
Another great video Matt 👍
Great video thanks. I’d like to try those rigs at Bridgeview fishery just outside Lichfield in the midlands. Very similar venue with a wide variety of fish on the maggot. 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻
Hi Matt! Lovely fishing, I have a couple of venues where I do this kind of fishing which reminds me of Europe but my favourite for silvers on the pole must be Barston
Great video mate, and well done for winning the match, my favourite venue is mill barn canal lake, its full too the brim with f1,s and skimmers ,plus some big dog roach, I fish the short pole with maggots and casters , tight lines thanks
