Wheelock was my home village fir 12 years of life I can't begin to day how many times I've walked up the locks to what was the old post office at Hassall Green for ice cream and feed the donkey in the field on the way, a very special bit of canal for me ❤
Your videos are my drug-free relaxation method of choice. Love the pretty scenery with the putt-putt of Aslan to soothe my soul! So happy to see you back on the canals.
Hi Kevin, my husband and I live in the U.S. We just wanted to let you know that we have really enjoyed watching all of your videos (most of them multiple times). We've enjoyed learning about the British canals. Just so relaxing. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Kevin, amongst all the beauty, the fishing heron was a wonderful bit! I enjoyed it very much watching the patience and the focus and the wild accuracy. Cheerio, Kevin and Aslan.
Not wanting to be boring about mooring. And no more boring moorings Some more moorings, and some more boats moored on those moorings. Ring moorings to be precise. Very pretty. Fascinating facilities, magnificent magnolias. More? “To sit in solemn silence in a dull, dark, dock, In a pestilential prison, with a life-long lock, Awaiting the sensation of a short, sharp, shock, From a cheap and chippy chopper on a big black block!”
The wear pattern on those old stone steps at 25:04 is something to see... and the Dandelion sprouting from the Bridge #152 brickwork is a keeper! I know some "front lawn maniacs" over here (Canada) that would be driven mad by the sight of it!
I like the bridges too Kevin. Keep them coming. I agree the heron was fabulous. Now we could chat about how how a neat environment yields a peaceful mind,or I could quote the sign above my home office door: “Hey, I’m creative! You can’t expect me to be neat too!” Have a great weekend!
TGIF 😊 well I've got my canal fix and cleaning house can be done with a smile, really liked the views of the heron fishing . Safe travels Kev and Godspeed, TX 🇺🇸
Greetings from Seattle & good to see you so content narrow boating & Aslan is in ship-shape as well! Enjoy these relaxing videos & appreciate all the work you put into them + all the editing. Glad u enjoy the editing though! Love seeing the English countryside in all its glory.
First, Kevin, it’s good to know that you put on your pants one leg at a time! Of course the fishing Blue Heron was great, but I especially enjoyed the scenes and your commentary about the problems created by the bypass route at Wheelock. That’s certainly a very common problem here in the USA. Many towns have died as a result. The USA’s famous Route 66 is just one example of an old road superseded by superhighways. One partial fix for this problem is to have decent signage on the bypass route that “announces” all of the good stores and conveniences that live within the town. Keep up the good work. Looking forward to more of your commentary about the unique towns that you visit.
Lovely cruise! Thank you…some of my favorite highlights: willow trees, fishing heron, a lively soccer game, a motorcycle strapped to a boat (!). Good luck with all those locks (British ingenuity at its finest) 😅
Thank you Kevin, that was great. I loved the introduction with the dramatic ending! The heron looked like he got a good breakfast. I too love bridges, the more the merrier! I loved your clever little references to a couple of old TV shows. ‘The Darling Buds of May’ was a real favourite of mine. Good to see a couple of resting ducks too - love ducks. Good luck with the locks! Bye for now.
I found you on Amazon Prime about a week ago or so. Binge watched the first 6 seasons. Thrilled to then find you on UA-cam for the subsequent videos! Thank you is what I mostly want to say. Watching your videos is relaxing and inspiring at the same time. It's not just the travelling that inspires me, but it's your own charm and insights about life as well. I will keep watching and I wish you the best always.
Great video. I first saw your videos on Prime. Love the series and your meal preparation! We don't have canals like this in Texas, just the intercostal waterway which might work. The sound of that engine is amazing!!! Thanks
I like watching these current videos. I started watching your previous videos when they were already a few years old. Nice to see what the weather is like and the flora and fauna. Thanks Kevin. Loved the 2hr relaxation video.
I had a bit of figure out what the two balloons were first. But I figured it out.. Nice day for a cruise.Happy you had some help along the way.... Pretty is a good word for ENGLAND,,,I know was impressed with the prettiness of your country.... Thank Kevin for a nice little float....on the good boat Aslan!!
I never realized that there was such a complex system of canals in England I am in upstate New York and I only knew about the Erie Canal and smaller ones around the country but I think you have us beat. Keep up the good work love seeing your videos and showing us yanks the beautiful non tourists countryside and the real world
Another winner Kevin. I would have to agree that the countryside you have shown so far is gorgeous. Your camera shots were amazing. I too am a sucker for well built bridges of old. Can't wait for the next segment. Keep on keeping on...
Hi Kevin, having lived on boats and for the past 32 years in a cottage on the tardebigge flight, may I say how much ive enjoyed your series of programmes on here and prime, bloody great, keep it up mate
The word you keep coming back to is "pretty." Yes, I see it. Very pretty. I'll likely never get to England, so I'll just have to enjoy the beautiful scenery you film for us. I liked how you talked a bit about Wheelock and the bypasses... very interesting and kind of sad. We have that here in the states too. Little towns dry up because the large highways pass them by.
Another most enjoyable video. We had a weekend away including time in Ripon ... lovely walk along the canal. If you ever get up that way, you must try Appletons pork pies - especially Saturday morning, fresh and warm, its an 'Oh My God' moment. Genuinely the best pork pie ever ... until the next best pork pie ever
It always makes a nice finish to my day when I look at utube and you are there! I so look forward to seeing your life. This girl in michigan is a great fan of yours!
First time viewer. Really liked the commentary, the filming, editing and sound. Was looking for a new cruising channel with David and the Foxes gone and you’re probably it. Will go back to past episodes and binge. Thanks for the content ...all the best...Chris 🇨🇦
Thanks Kevin for taking us on a beautiful sunny cruise and it's good to see that you're doing well. I'm with you on the doubts of hauling a bike on and off a boat plus spoiling the lines of Aslan. Take care and all the best. Stevie
The opening music syncing with the fishing heron was not lost on me; it made me smile! I'm jealous of your Leica, and really liked the colour balance of the images you showed! Thanks for continuing to share your eye for composition and editing.
What a good life! Home is where the boat is, see somewhere lovely and there you are with all your image making stuff to hand to produce your ‘artisticles’. Your studio with you all the time. And you now talk heron. I bet you remember at the beginning when the moment you spotted a heron it upped and left. And now……you are just one of the gang. Not at all bad…..and lovely for us. That was real good.
Most appreciated Rikki, thank you. Yes indeed, Aslan is not only the star of the show and my home, but also a mobile production unit. I do remember my previous attempts at filming the Herons. Shy birds indeed.
Another great vlog. Next time you visit Wheelock take the 1 mile walk to Sandbach - visit Thursday for market day, and see the ancient stones in the centre. This was the home of Foden Trucks est 1856, and might be of interest
Hi Kevin, wow a lovely cruise! This visit with you was a perfect ending to my amazing day. Thank you. I loved seeing the heron fishing. I always enjoy the bridges and the other boats oh and the animals, people and villages you waking up and getting ready for your day. I guess I got a little over descriptive😉 I enjoy your videos again thank you.
I watch a few of these channels and your editing, shot selection, composition and audio detail is certainly and consistently one of the best, I would say. Top work!
Another enjoyable & interesting vlog Kevin............the support from other boat people is brilliant to see............stay safe...........thanks for sharing
Lovely. Great editing. Not sure how you do it to show yourself on both sides, but it’s pretty cool. Enjoyed going along with you. I love herons and that tranquil piece watching him fish was nice. Hope you’re having a good day❣️
Great vlog , what a way to "chillax" , of particular interest at 1.43 the fabrication of the ramp for the motorbike what a fantastic idea ? , would want something similar when i finally retire to the canals. :)
Great shot of the Heron getting his lunch, They are a bit flighty most of the time when I see them. Thanks for the effort you put into these videos for our entertainment.
Thank you Kevin, yet another beautiful video. I notice that John from 'Cruising the cut' is no longer aboard his Narrowboat and is selling up i believe but will still have his finger on the pulse. Both yours and Johns vlogs i enjoy tremendously, please don't sell up!. Your videos are so relaxing and peaceful in a world that is so full of stress and anger.
Finally caught up on your new travelling adventures... we have just done our first major move to a new mooring... 59 big beasts to lock up on the GU !! Hats off to solo boaters!! We have done Harecastle.... lol our horn failed as we entered it!!! Have a back up!! Xxx
Wow that sounds like a monumental expedition to your new base Lynette. If the horn fails and it's needed, I'm pretty certain they'll here my screams. 😄
Yesterday was my b-day and I was having an absolutely crap day...and then YOU show up in notifications❣️ The chug chug chug of Aslan’s voice set everything right again! A lovely & relaxing trip. Until next time..be safe & well🌞
Howdy Kevin. Great cruise and fantastic scenery. Wheelock seemed nice but as you say lots of small towns both over there and in Australia have been by passed with new freeways or new roads roads. Some survive others slowly die. Enjoy and stay safe. Cheers Keith Melbourne Australia

A pleasure David. Happy to help bring back some 'golden' memories.
Even the ducks are beautiful.
Your videos are my drug-free relaxation method of choice. Love the pretty scenery with the putt-putt of Aslan to soothe my soul! So happy to see you back on the canals.
Thank you Jeannie. Great to hear you're enjoying the videos. 🙂
Agreed. Boat therapy.
Hi Kevin, my husband and I live in the U.S. We just wanted to let you know that we have really enjoyed watching all of your videos (most of them multiple times). We've enjoyed learning about the British canals. Just so relaxing. Thank you for sharing your adventures with us.
Amazing great blue heron.
Scenery like a beautiful postcard. 😍
Kevin, amongst all the beauty, the fishing heron was a wonderful bit! I enjoyed it very much watching the patience and the focus and the wild accuracy. Cheerio, Kevin and Aslan.
I appreciate that Gary, thank you. The Heron is a very shy bird, so was delighted to peer out the side hatch and see her/him 'fishing'. 🙂
The bridges are quite picturesque, keep them up please!
Will do Susan. Thanks,
Not wanting to be boring about mooring.
I appreciate you. It’s no small task. But such joy it brings to my life and many many many other people
Thank you Victoria. You're very welcome.
Wow surprise visit at the end there!
Yes and for me, had no idea they were ahead.
Nice to see your 'twin brother' helping at the lock.!!
Cheers Geoff. Yes, he has his uses - plus he's cheap and keen to learn. 🙄😁
One of the reasons I find your videos so enjoyable is your artist's eye: so many of the shots are beautifully framed. Thank you.
Nice to see you met Rich and Fran Kevin, brilliant vlog..
It was a joy to meet them. 🙂
Some brave early morning shots!
here we GO!!! thank you for letting me aboard.

Pleased to hear that, thank you.

Thanks Kevin for taking us on a beautiful sunny cruise and it's good to see that you're doing well. I'm with you on the doubts of hauling a bike on and off a boat plus spoiling the lines of Aslan. Take care and all the best. Stevie
Absolutely Stevie. Just popped a disc thinking about hauling a 700lb GS off the stern. ☹️😆
@@CountryHouseGent Could be worse you might haul it 1/2 way off the stern
Ouch and then pop a doodah trying to stop it falling in. 🥴 😢
The opening music syncing with the fishing heron was not lost on me; it made me smile! I'm jealous of your Leica, and really liked the colour balance of the images you showed! Thanks for continuing to share your eye for composition and editing.

A lovely video once again, and I like the photos that you took with your Leica, thumbs up from me.
Cool, thanks Gary.
The travel was excellent today, the trees, birds, and the homes were beautiful, thanks Kevin. Charlie from Pennsylvania, just gorgeous!
Thank you Charles. I'm very happy with how this video turned out. Cheers,
Great Kevin! Hope your enjoying this new canal territory!
Indeed Roger. I'd always had an impression of what this part of the T&M would be like. I was wrong.
Thank you Kevin for another beautifully filmed video. I especially loved watching the fishing heron. I’m so glad you are back!
Thank you Rita. Yes they are very shy birds. Was fortunate to spot it and even more fortunate it didn't spot me. 🙂

Yes it was a surprise when he announced he'd be hanging up his windlass.
Glad to see you back on the Cut !! Cheers....
Great to be back Christopher. Cheers,
Was that stately bird a blue heron ? Surely. Magnificent.
Hi Carole, it's the Grey Heron. Fabulous birds and very proficient fishers. 🙂
So far... my favorite thus season. And that's saying a lot!
Another great video. We are treated to a few different angles of the inside of Aslan... at least for me. I always look forward to seeing the next one.
Thanks Marty.
That was a enjoyable ride. Thanks for sharing Mr. Kevin. Hope you and Aslan are doing well.
Great to hear that Rob, thank you. Yes all tickety wotsit here. 🙂
Kevin, loving the surround sound!
Thank you Charles. This microphone is very good at capturing a wide range of sounds.
Yesterday was my b-day and I was having an absolutely crap day...and then YOU show up in notifications❣️
The chug chug chug of Aslan’s voice set everything right again!
A lovely & relaxing trip.
Until next time..be safe & well🌞
Belated happy birthday Tina. 🙂
Interesting video enjoyed it.
Thank you Keith. Yes, I think they call it progress? 🤔 🙄
